Nsd so far. Still feeling sick but am hoping tea and a mini toblerone might help

Cagliostro · 13/02/2017 14:34

Tempers are fraying here ipso DD was a stroppy madam yesterday and today I'm tired and grumpy :o DH got the Caglets out for a bike ride in the woods earlier though so that's something.

Toblerones help everything.

That's amazing about the teeth Wreck. My ds has only lost his lower front two teeth and no others. We know when he's cutting teeth because he gets really really crabby. We've had to take him off chocolate while he cuts these teeth because the combination was a bit epic. He's nearly 7 so I think he must be a late teether.

I know what you mean about the cost of going to london. I went on a daytrip once when I didn't know about the expense, and accidentally spent £95 doing almost nothing, and I only had £50 a week in those days, so I was stuffed for ages.

CremeEggThief · 13/02/2017 14:42

Ours is next week too. I'm absolutely wiped out today, feeling fatigued like I haven't felt for months. I need to be careful... The washing machine was fixed today, hurrah! I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by how much there is to catch up on. 2 weeks of towels are in at the moment, going to be followed by my bedding. To do: wash up, have a shower, put clean bedding on my bed, put dirty bedding in the washer, put towels in the dryer, and attend DS's options evening at school.

Yesterday's spends: £35 pub meal and tip; £4.30 bus and £44.75 Sainsburys. Total: £84.05.

Meal plan
Today: gnocchi and pesto.
Tuesday: jackets with cheese, pesto and salad.
Wednesday: veggie burgers and chips with salad.
Thursday: Quorn and veg stirfry with noodles.
Friday: Mediterranean vegetable and borlotti bean pasta bake with garlic bread.
Saturday : same.
Sunday: Quorn roast with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, broccoli, Yorkshire puddings and gravy.

AdoraBell · 13/02/2017 15:08

Teddy is doing well, thanks for asking. Skin completely healed over and he is getting about well and even jumping up Hmm vet wants him back in a week or so just for a double check.

Not sure if today will be an NSD, need to get shoes reheeled but that's paid on collection. Half term here, one DD wants to get out and about, her sister wants to sleep the week away, and DH is away so they're having to compromise. That's gonna be funHmm

WreckTangled · 13/02/2017 15:34

Quick advice pls I've got an email from HR and they say I shouldn't hand in my notice until they've received my references etc I assume this is just a formality and, as I have no worries that I'll be given a bad reference, I am OK to hand my notice in tomorrow? My thoughts are that if my employer gets a request for a reference before I've handed my notice in her might be a bit pissed off (this man didn't speak to one employee for a month after she told him she was pregnant, he also called one of the secretaries a retard Hmm)

Ipsomatic · 13/02/2017 15:58

Wreck It's best not to hand in your notice until the job's absolutely secure just to be on the safe side. Odd things can happen and if the job fell through you're in a much better position job hunting if you still have your old job.

Ipsomatic · 13/02/2017 16:00

Something odd had happened to me, and I wondered if I could ask for a spot of encouragement/sympathy?

I think I've got a virus but it's a weird one. I feel so tired and heavy that I can hardly get out of bed and sometimes can't even get my head off the pillow. It's just like when I get that same symptom with really bad flu, but so far (touch wood) I have no temperature or cough or anything like that, and I'm just finding it a bit scary to be incapacitated by tiredness like this.

I wondered - is this something that's going round at the moment? It's a bit weird. I'm very much hoping that it gets better rather than worse.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/02/2017 16:14

Wreck, h hold on for the reference.
Ipso, t there is loads going bout but if mmore than a week or 2 iwould. See a GP.

Phone playing up sorry..

Cancel class as can't face ache then more ache in 3 weeks due to enforced break . Will go to aldi and get veg as run out. Due to epic cook yesterday .No veg for tea but frankly I finding it hard to give a fuck

Ipsomatic · 13/02/2017 16:14

and on a totally separate note, here is a new thread, as the current one is almost full:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/credit_crunch/2853667-Frugaleers-Frolick-Frugally-through-February?watched=1

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/02/2017 16:15

Ipso, don't you have other complications? I would go to go a gp

WreckTangled · 13/02/2017 16:16

But then my boss is going to know that I've applied for a new job and will start being a dick to me (he has form). Although I think if the job fell through they would keep me on

SnugglySnerd · 13/02/2017 16:16

Ipso I don't know I'm afraid but the virus doing the rounds at the moment is a nasty one and seems to linger. My mum's been floored for the last week and she's not one to cancel plans and stay in. Before I finished work some of the kids were off with it for 2 weeks. I hope you feel better soon though.
Good news about the washing machine, creme. I don't know what we'd do without one. Take care, you sound exhausted!

Ipsomatic · 13/02/2017 16:21

Life I think this is just a temporary thing. I've been to the GP recently and given him a long form detailing all that's wrong with me and ds so the GP is working on it.

Snuggly that virus does not sound so good. Is that a flu type thing? I know there's a particularly unpleasant flu thing doing the rounds at school, as well as a real humdinger of a stomach thing. I wish people would just keep their kids at home 'till they're well so it's isn't passed on. It seems to be almost a competition here to see who can spread it the most.

Ipsomatic · 13/02/2017 16:24

Wreck I understand about you not wanting to get on the wrong side of the guy. The risk is that if you hand in your notice before the new job is confirmed then you might lose both and then you'd be job hunting while unemployed and that is much harder for all sorts of reasons. Hopefully it will just be a very short while of worry for you, and the reference will solve it all, and you'll be able to hand in your notice very very soon. Just hang in there if you can. It won't be long at all before you can give notice.

Needastrongone · 13/02/2017 17:03

Peonies Re shampoo. I have spent many years looking for my ideal brand. I've done expensive and I've done cheap. I am having good results with Aussie Color Mate and 3 Minute Miracle conditioner. Cheap as chips. Our hair types seem similar.

Ipso Honestly, I second Life. Your medical profile is complex. Much as we want to and care, we can't possibly figure it out online, as quite rightly, you don't divulge everything. If I had such extreme tiredness that I were incapacitated by it, I would be asking the GP for a home visit and be frightened to death.

Spends.
£20 M&S.
£4 paying for milk for work.

Needastrongone · 13/02/2017 17:04

Sorry, forgot Flowers for Ipso.

CremeEggThief · 13/02/2017 17:42

I agree with the others not to hand your notice in just yet, Wreck. So what if the boss is a bit spiteful afterwards? You'll be out of there before you know it.

£7 bus fare, travelling to DS's school for the Options talk. It starts at 6. That should be it for today, spend wise.

Quite pleased I have no work booked in yet for tomorrow, so I can potter around, doing essential housework and more laundry, before work on Wednesday and training and a school visit on Thursday.

Cagliostro · 13/02/2017 17:46

Crikey Wreck glad you're leaving that job then since he sounds like a monumental d-bag. Hmm Any way you could bring it up that you've been offered a job but not hand notice in yet? As then surely if you haven't actually officially given notice then you can't be made to leave, but at least then he'll know to expect the reference request? (Disclaimer I know zip all about this sort of thing.)

Ipso epic hugs. I have to say what you're describing sounds like post viral fatigue which was my initial diagnosis before it progressed enough to warrant an assessment (where I was diagnosed with CFS etc). Thanks

I love the Aussie hair stuff as well BTW. I use the spray after I wash it, kind of a leave in conditioner thing. Smells nice too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/02/2017 17:48

Whatever you do wreck sounds like he is going to be a dick. Get the advice from HR in writing too

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 13/02/2017 18:14

No help on hair from me I'm afraid, I use alberto baslm! I have timotei hair, but it isn't the same as it used to be. But my sister uses the Aussie stuff, and she takes very very good care of herself, she swears by it after exhaustively trying everything else.

Ipso get thee to the gp. It does seem to take you a long time to bounce back, I'd listen to cag, I recon you're heading down the same path.

No more spends today, and got the digging done. It is waterlogged and grim in the back garden.

ememem84 · 13/02/2017 18:33

Re hair I'm currently using tigi s factor diamond shine. It's nice. smells good and keeps my thick unruly wavyish hair at bay.

I bought it on feelunique.com via too cashback.

Previously was using the red tresseme one.
