Thanks need, stresses are different but better since I had a sideways move last week.
Ikwym and you are entitled to feel like that. You both work very hard in different ways so the family need benefits buy both can be quite isolating in their roles even though you are a team. It can feel unsupported when one doest see the same importance something the other wants/ needs doing. I totally understand your frustration as dh and I are sometimes in a similar boats. Whether it's a middle class problem or not doesn't belittle it as it's important to you. Everything is relative to the person it affects and that should never be discounted.

Hope that comes across in text how it's intended as supportive and not twatty.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2016 13:15

need Is this something you can contract out or swerve?. Have you factored cashback into your home insurance?.

I am going to start saying "due diligence" when I look into something from now on.

CathodeRayTube · 17/11/2016 14:09

Need tbh, it's good to hear you bring your own frustration to the group as your hear plenty about ours. I think you're totally entitled to feel cheesed off sometimes. Everybody is.

SnugglySnerd · 17/11/2016 14:51

I'm about 22 weeks now. Shopping was dreadful. It's like nobody told the shops that it's nearly Xmas and could get busy so I spent ages standing in queues with only one person serving. It took me 30 mins to get a prescription and also all the shops have wedged in extra displays of Xmas stuff so it was impossible to get the pushchair round. Goodness knows what it'll be like with a double buggy next year and I don't know how on earth wheelchair users manage to get round the shops.
Managed to get a few Xmas gifts though so that was good and my lovely mum bought us lunch.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/11/2016 14:51

i'm frozen sitting here typing. it a miserable day. might have to put the heating above 16 degrees

Needastrongone · 17/11/2016 15:28

It didn't come over as Twatty, grateful to you and Cath and fluffy for reading my petty frustrations. I'm over it. I went to see the pony, who always has this soft nuzzle manner when he senses you are pissed off and therefore didn't try to kick me or the farrier....

DH has actually phoned to offer to do this job. I'll end up doing it. But he is walking the dogs in the morning. I think I just needed him to offer at least iyswim?

I've done some more Christmas shopping, but have cracked on really and just have a few bits to get. Famous last words...

There will be £5 for Boxercise tomorrow tonight too.

Needastrongone · 17/11/2016 15:29

Lord!!! I mean twatty Life!!!

Needastrongone · 17/11/2016 15:29

It's 3 degrees outside my car said. It is indeed freezing.

Needastrongone · 17/11/2016 15:31

Fluffy. Yes factored in. I've also checked some specific items are covered for both that have some value. I've until 3 December to sort. I would have thought your due diligence will be comprehensive at all times. Grin

I wonder if last years floods are pushing your premium up?. Sometimes you hit a plateau & then next year the premium drops.

£11 Aldi. Cba to do a full shop today. I bought the cream sherry, it's winter in a glass in the freezer

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/11/2016 15:52

Ooo I can feel a new nn coming on thanks need Grin

Needastrongone · 17/11/2016 16:14

They are looking at whiplash claims, it was announced today. I'll look into it a bit more but really, £280 for unlimited buildings and contents, legal cover, and 3 specific items of value to be insured is really very reasonable given we have a decent house etc. The starting premium for the 3 said specific items was an extra £140, and ended up at £25 after some long and meaningful pauses my side of the phone conversation.......

I can't believe I wrote that and didn't realise......!

How's the foot Wreck?

And how do you feel today Cag?

I had a parallel double buggy Snuggly, which was much more managable for my two. It got so much use that thing.

Mummyshortlegz · 17/11/2016 16:29

£30 in sainsbury on some Christmas bits (advent calendar/ tree chkcs / snacks) , pizza bases for dinner (so we can make them dairy free) and some bottles of orange and passion fruit drink to use for gin and gingerbread syrup.

£33 in the range, Christmas decorations and whizzy things to go in stockings

£27 on pyjamas for Christmas. Gap had 50% off and then I stacked on a 20% off code.

Apart from food and dh present I'm finished. Oh and a dress for me.

AdoraBell · 17/11/2016 16:48

NSD for me, DH spent money in B&Q and bought me ☕️, then bought office supplies in WH Smith.

I overheard DH telling MIL that he's finished his Christmas shopping last week because he hates leaving it late. He hasn't bought anything. I predict a Mr Bean moment when he realises there are no gifts for his relies Grin

CathodeRayTube · 17/11/2016 16:49

Glad you pony helped need.

I just pushed the boat out and took ds for a playdate, but the neighbour we went to has LED lightbulbs, which my eyes totally can't cope with. I'm going to need to figure out sunglasses or something. Gosh darn. I should have been born in the 50s.

On the plus side ds was happy to be left at the house to be collected in half an hour so that is a milestone for him.

My grocery budget it plummeting since I started shopping in M&S and Waitrose. There is just so much less waste, it's weird.

ememem84 · 17/11/2016 18:32

Absolutely soaked today. Stupid rain. Home now and catface was being friendly for food. Grin

6 weeks or so until Christmas. And work is getting busier. And busier. I though tax year end was bad. Turns out everyone wants things done calendar year end too. Bah.

Feeling tired and a bit stressed. Dh skyped mil last night. Not helped my anxiety levels at all. Hey ho. Must get over it.

We have 3 months until I have to see her again. Hmm 3 months. still time to get pregnant

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/11/2016 18:37

Hi all. Need can understand why you would be fed up Wine have you told your dh how you feel?

I have had a nice day, caught up with friends for coffee this morning. My friend treated me to pancakes with maple syrup which was delicious. Spent rest of the day doing jobs in the house, finally put some pictures up in my bedroom!! NSD.

It is indeed freezing, have got the heating on and my little oil burner!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/11/2016 18:38

Whats happened to Collie? Hope she is o.kay.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2016 18:39

Get off mumsnet & dtd Grin

Or get shitfaced, smoke loads & then dtd. It worked for everyone else I know.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/11/2016 18:47

Haha Fluffy that did indeed work for me Blush Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2016 18:54

They should advise it on NHS direct. Jagermeister could sponsor it.

ememem84 · 17/11/2016 19:10

HAha!! Funny that's what all my fwb's (friends with babies) did!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/11/2016 19:11

Fluffy Grin

Think my washer is going to washer heaven. It's not as affective as usual and not spinning well. Any recommendations?

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2016 19:14

Miele outlet in Abingdon, Miele on interest free at marks electrical or research what you want in John Lewis and find it online cheaper.

Bosch is good but dhs cousin has a Miele that even their kids washing can't break. They saw off several hotpoints before they got it.

Mummyshortlegz · 17/11/2016 19:14

Lifelong I think it's taking mine with it. I can't decide how long to give it before I look for a replacement. It's five years old an a built in aeg. I think that might be about average for longevity now.
