I hope you get something for the inconvenience too, Mammy.

Fluffy, I often think the very basic products have less of everything, including all the salt, sugar and preservatives. If you look at the ingredients, you can see. I tried Morrisons saver's apple sauce for 34 pence once and I was really pleased with it.

Need, glad you got sorted with the present.

Spends: £8.63 Co-op and £7.30 lunch in a café.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/11/2016 18:35

My mum says that too Creme, I have always avoided them because I thought they'd be horrible but they will be a regular buy now. The mono sodium glutamate is one of allergens, as is milk. I buy sains value tea & Aldi value stuff all the time.

It's hard getting milk free gravy.

I do wonder how overpriced food is generally.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/11/2016 18:52

Hello all, thank the Lord its Friday!!

Work was actually alright today for a change.

Am properly upset about Leonard Cohen, grew up listening to him as my dad was a huge fan Sad a true poet, democracy is coming indeed never has song been more relevant.

Managed another NSD.

WreckTangled · 11/11/2016 19:12

Oh no sorry mammy Grin

£40 on birthday cake for ds. It's awesome.

I phoned sky, they were apologetic and said they would stop sky effective immediately and refund my money. They would call me back to confirm. Surprise surprise sky is still working and no call from them Hmm

BOO! The Freaky Frugaleers prepare for Halloween and beyond. All welcome!
SnugglySnerd · 11/11/2016 19:12

NSD, hurrah!
Happy weekend everyone!

CollieMonster · 11/11/2016 19:17

girlie that's very relevant isn't it :(

fluffy and Creme we bought a value product recently. I can't remember what it was but we compared the ingredients and the difference was so clear. The more expensive / brand version had loads of random ingredients that sounded like chemicals or preservatives. The value option had standard ingredients that you would use at home. And it was delicious. And a fraction of the price! We have tried a few things lately like custard & various sauce. Even scotch pancakes!

CremeEggThief · 11/11/2016 19:47

That's it, Collie.

Fab birthday cake, Wreck.

ememem84 · 11/11/2016 19:52

Eugh HR stuff was horrible mammy awful. I hated every second of it. But it's done. Dealt with. I hate that I did it on a Friday though and left them to stew over it over the weekend.

Long day today. Busy busy. But I worked hard and left at 5. Went for a drink with a colleague on the way home. He paid. Yay!!

Dinner was potato pesto broccoli bean butter bean and chorizo salad and olive bread and a glass of rosé. All on my meal plan and shopping list.

So bloody happy it's Friday!! Fri-yay!!

Tryingtosaveup · 11/11/2016 19:55

NSD here but a speeding type ticket came in the post. £65. I watch every penny to pay for my bathrooms and now this.
Apparently I stopped in a yellow box junction in London a few weeks ago. If I did it was only because I was in a bloody traffic jam. Oh well, no good arguing or ranting is it. Might as well just pay it.
Mammy , really embarrassing. Just imagine if you didn't have another card in the car. Don't tell them you had the other card.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/11/2016 20:11

Nsd
Pleased the hr stuff is done, it can be hard work. I did back to back mid year reviews today. Catface owns you.
Bad luck on the ticket.
I often compare labels and the ingredients list can be very scary.
Nice cake, rubbish sky

Needastrongone · 11/11/2016 20:16

Great cake wrecked.

Cath I didn't answer your question last night. I am sorry about that. The leg is better now thanks. I swallowed my last antibiotic tonight, a weeks course. Hope you have had another positive day.

Aaarghh Mammy!

Ouch to the ticket Trying. One of our guys got one last week. Easily done, costly though.

I mix value products with good quality and that seems to work well. Cheap wheat biscuits but Tilda rice etc. Always good quality meat, but we don't eat all that much of it.

Girlie and Wrecked and Life. Another 'big up' for the NHS. Had a scan today. The appointment for the scan came through 3 days after visiting the GP. I had a choice of appointments. Scan was absolutely to time. Results immediate. Care was compassionate. No bad things to day about the NHS. None.

Spends today.
£12 Boots. Lip balm and hand cream and razors as stocking fillers.
£40 M&S, by using their 25% off 6 bottles of wine and also using their 2 for £12 offers, 6 bottles for £29 for Christmas.
£18 nails.

Gas/electric supplier took a DD out of the account after we switched so I have complained today.

Work is stupid busy. We are snowed under and DH looks frazzled. Brexit and the USA election mean nothing, the oil industry picks up, everyone starts spending. I won't see much of DH now for months. As per usual!!!

Wildernesstips · 11/11/2016 20:33

£71 groceries in Lidl but have really stocked up my freezer on top of the weekly meals, and got some Christmas bits. Lidl had a couple of really nice looking birthday cakes for £3.99 - hope they're still around next month for mine.

Thank God it's the end of the week. Work has been full on this week.

mammymammyIRL · 11/11/2016 20:36

Our sky remains active for 31 days after cancelling maybe yours is the same wreck cake is truly awesome I just screenshot it for next year!

My friend gave me ideas for her dc Christmas presents & my siblings & I decided on a present for our parents so that's inspired me to write a list for remaining presents, then I can pick them off as I go along. Will wait for Black Friday & cyber Monday too.

Today is AliExpress's big shopping day. I don't have list done so I'm going to avoid it I think.

WreckTangled · 11/11/2016 20:40

Mammy I cancelled it over a month ago and they didn't do it so I phoned today and they said they would cancel it effective immediately

mammymammyIRL · 12/11/2016 08:08

€27 on wooden advent calendar.
I've not bought advent calendars before as I don't want the dc getting choc every day just because it's advent. There will be days with activities & hoping to put small toys in etc

BOO! The Freaky Frugaleers prepare for Halloween and beyond. All welcome!
ememem84 · 12/11/2016 09:38

mammy that's lovely! We were never allowed chocolate calendars when we were younger. We had to have proper religious ones.

The wooden ones look great though.

Riding today £25. And have to stop at the pet shop for litter and more poop bags. I ordered some from Amazon on Wednesday and they haven't come down yet. Gah. They'll probably arrive while I'm at the pet shop. But if I don't go I don't have any....

Est spend £15. I get 5% discount there too

SnugglySnerd · 12/11/2016 10:47

I've just been buying things for DD's advent calendar too! Have got chocolate coins for some of the days and a couple of small toys. I'm also going to get Xmas stickers, crayons and Xmas socks & hair clips.
I've also bought DD some Xmas tights from Sainsbury's. I'm getting excited now, might go late night shopping this week.

mammymammyIRL · 12/11/2016 12:20

I've got two free graze box codes if anyone wants them pm me
