Evening everyone!

Great news collie on the money back, hopefully that will make things easier for you Smile

I would love love love a barbour coat, well jealous! Envy

Its absolutely freezing here today. The car was all iced up this morning. I have smugly fetched the deicer I bought in the jan sales for 50p and put one in each car lol Grin had to order our first fill of home heating oil since June. 400L for £160. No idea how long it will last as last year we were burning through that much every 5 weeks - we live in a 70s house with crap insulation and blown double glazing and an old boiler where you cant actually set a temp - generally put it on for blasts of an hour or so at a time. Have lit the open fire this evening which has kept us toasty and kept the oil off - hot water bottles and electric blankets on! Think I might try and light the fire most evenings if possible to save the oil as it seems to be much cheaper - 5 huge bags of coal for £30 would last us most of the month for evening fires.

Needastrongone · 24/10/2016 21:12

Sorry Colliekins I forgot you! Well done. xx

SnugglySnerd · 24/10/2016 21:25

Great news, Collie and well done, Agenie!

Tryingtosaveup · 24/10/2016 22:26

Great news Collie, at last some good news for you
Love the pumpkins!
My thermostat is set for 18degrees but I light my wood burning stove using wood I have either scavenged or things like pallets I have cut up. The wood doesn't burn for long because it's not seasoned but it's free.
£10.24 on tea and stuff in M&S cafe with DGCs.

WreckTangled · 25/10/2016 05:45

Eugh why did I say I would work 6:45-6:30 today?! Will need to go to tesco to buy lunch, it'll be the only break I get so might as well.

mammymammyIRL · 25/10/2016 06:05

Wreck I'm wondering why I didn't stay on 10 mins later yesterday instead of going in 10 mins earlier this morning Grin oh ya dh always rushing out at 6.30pm mon eve, didn't go until 7.15pm yesterday Angry

That's a long ass day for you / I'll be doing 6.50am to 5.45pm I'd estimate.

Toaster I love the smugness of the two cans of de-icer for 50p! My new car has heated windscreen, the luxury Smile

Our house only built since 2008, no thermostat, can turn up & down rads individually.

Electricity bill came in at €10 cheaper than this time last year, will see how I fare out on switching today.

Cancelled bins yesterday saving €27.50 a month & finally sky will be cancelled today €108 a month Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/10/2016 06:14

7.00-17.30 today, some sodding course with role play, ffs course starts at 830 but I have some stuff to print off first.

WreckTangled · 25/10/2016 07:13

Dh has bought me the boots no7 advent calendar! Anyway it's on pre sale through the email link only but I wanted to use topcashback. I think I got round it by signing in and adding it to my basket then going through topcashback and signing in as it was still in my basket.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 25/10/2016 07:41

I'm doing 8-6 today. I want to leave early tomorrow so I can have a one to one riding lesson. So need to get some hours in. STables are only 20 mins away and my lesson is at 530. But probably won't make it with the traffics.

wreck I saw the advent calendar advertised yesterday. Ooh

Our electric bill hasn't decreased but our useage has. We're still paying £77 per month (!?) but I put the water on a timer. And have really stated trying to cut back useage. Am hoping that the electric company reduce our bill. They usually knock it down in winter and increase in summer to counter the previous 6 months useage.

NeversellahouseCollie · 25/10/2016 08:37

Morning everyone :) Another LSD as we just need milk again.

mammymammyIRL · 25/10/2016 08:51

Ours is post pay here electric so I'm looking at the options of level pay which is like the way ye pay a set amount monthly. I know I looked at it before but they were increasing the amount I paid monthly by a lot just to cover themselves Shock

Sorry keep Blush

ItalianWiking84 · 25/10/2016 09:18

Should be nsd, taking dd to gym today if my body can manage it. I had to call dh yesterday and get him home earlier, had massive contractions and pains. Nothing unfortunately cane out of it. Luckily they weren't that busy at his work so no trouble in leaving a bit early

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 25/10/2016 09:27

You don't need it keep Wink

Poor all of you having to go to work as I lounge around in my dressing gown Grin Poor dd full of cold which is a shame for half term but good that we are off anyway I suppose.

Plan today is to go to the kids show of the BFG at Odeon with friends and then pick some lunch bits up plus pumpkins and spend the afternoon eating and designing said pumpkins! Should be fairly frugal and not too spendy...

Will try boiler company again later, its a glow worm flexicom if that means anything to anybody? Don't think its the thermostat battery as it clicks but the radiators don't do anything iyswim. Oh and while I am thinking of it does anyone know what random switches quite low down on the walls would be for?? I have one in the living room and one in the hallway, only noticed them the other day and switched them on incase that was anything to do with the heating but its not made any difference!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 25/10/2016 09:28

Cross post italian how exciting, sounds like things are warming up!!

NeversellahouseCollie · 25/10/2016 09:42

girlie the one in the hallway by the stairs is for a chair lift installation. The one in the living room is for an electric fire :) it's just a spare fuse thing incase you install anything extra.

NeversellahouseCollie · 25/10/2016 09:43

We had to get the site manager to come around and explain what they were for haha! Halloween Grin

£14 on postage for my eBay stuff. Yay!

northender · 25/10/2016 15:45

Struggling a bit here with budget control at the moment. It's due in main part to the loft conversion and in small part to me not having noticed dh's tax rebate being paid via BACS a month ago so my spreadsheet is somewhat awry! I'm trying to eat just from what we already have until we go away for half term on Saturday. Really tempted to have a takeaway tonight but will resist and make a curry instead.

Will catch up properly later

CremeEggThief · 25/10/2016 17:07

I'll be back with later with spends, but just wanted to share my new nails. I adore this shade; it's perfect for autumn.Halloween Smile

SnugglySnerd · 25/10/2016 17:44

Nice nails!
It's the very expensive Hotel Chocolat advent calendar I'm secretly coveting.
£27 haircut, £10 yoga, £12 top up in Sainsbury's today. 25% off TU has started btw.

mammymammyIRL · 25/10/2016 18:32

Tax return has been sitting in a disused account for a week!! Actually an account I closed two months ago but still appears to be active! Just transferred it to dhs account & he'll transfer it from there to joint account, could take a few more days Sad
Can't set up a transfer directly to joint account as I don't have an active bank card for that account,

Nice nails creme
Girlie had ye a nice day out?
Just finished work at 6.15 35 mins short of 12 hour shift
