My jumping back in has timed well for a new thread - thanks agenie!

And thank you for all the good wishes! We have identical twin girls - gorgeous and sleepy but starting to wake up more and more (especially between 1am and 4am!)

I've been reading the previous thread all day but haven't even got past 28/09 yet - glad to see the frus are as chatty as ever!

How are you snuggly? Have you started having more regular scans yet? Probably the most frugal things I've done so far are pre-pregnancy saving up some money for maternity leave, saving money and paying for childcare vouchers now to cover first year's childcare costs and persevering with bf even though I'm finding it challenging with two - I keep thinking of the money saved on formula!

Wow ursula how old are they now? Good for you with the bf I can't imagine it's easy with two!

Ok so three loads of washing done!
And things have been sorted for charity shop and listed on eBay.

Found three cushion middles so I may get some fabric and make some new throw pillows.

Dh is sorting the kitchen.

I'm lying on the spare bed with tea and humous crackers and veg sticks reading book.

We had a frugal win, just checked my band acct and our direct debit for gas/elec has gone down to just £50 a month, not £78 (in our old Victorian house we paid £180 a month) so pleased.

NSD. My first since last Sunday.

Collie, I'm glad you're feeling better, well a bit better.
Boobs, that's such a good idea saving now when you can still afford it. Babies are free but their accessories certainly are not.

Done lots today. DP has been here so he bought me some things I can stock freezer with. I've lit the fire the last two evenings. Can't believe how much wood it burns. Must keep collecting it.

Builder is starting tomorrow....spends.

Spin dryers are awesome. I've dried two loads outside today. All ready to be put away now.

Tomorrow is likely to be expensive.

I need to buy flea and worm treatment. May pop to the vets at lunchtime.

Will also have to stop in boots and buy pads and tampons as am almost out. I was meant to get them tomorrow anyway but tomorrow was supposed to be day 1. Not day 4!!

Forbidden corner was ok. Kid's loved it but I'm not sure it was worth £40, plus £14 shop and £6 cafe. Had to cut out short as both dc full of cold. £18 pizza for birthday tea and £9 sainsburys

Ah Ursula sound fab, if tired. Formula is a fortune, that would be my kind of motivation for bf too, well done you for getting this far.

Hi, I am jumping in again. I have been here on and off under another name. Ds1 is now at uni and we are topping up his maintenance loan to cover his accommodation plus a little more, so really learning as we go about how much impact this will have on our finances ongoing, and feel we need to tighten the belt a bit.

Frugal things today:
Made 12 pesto palmiers from some leftover puff pastry.
Plugged in our Smart Meter - very addictive!

Fluffy Littlewoods are only company who sell one single type of spin dryer in Ireland, it's a white knight one so they're unlikely to come up on eBay in Ireland.

I have a white knight one. They do gas powered tumble dryers too but Dh vetoed a gas tumbler.

Eugh. Ds has been sick on the sofa, himself, the carpet and me. More washing. Dreading tonight!

I am at identical twin girls!! Amazing - congratulations, the cost of ff kept me bfing for a lot longer than I would have otherwise!! Can you tell them apart??

I have had an o.kay afternoon, dd spent agggggggggges on her homework partly because she spent a long time sat there rolling her eyes and insisting she couldn't do it but have also been for a short run, made cupcakes and made my vat of bolognese.

Just had a phone call from car insurance people, hopefully will book my car in for repairs next week sometime.....

I'm doing ok thanks, Ursula, I wrote you a message right at the end of the old thread but you might not have got there yet! I'm impressed you are breastfeeding, I did with DD but not sure I'm up to feeding two! Congratulations on your lovely daughters.
Had a lovely day today. My dad treated us to lunch in town and sent us home with some enormous meringues. £6 parking, £3 on cream and strawberries to go with the meringue! With yesterday's purchase of cheese and cat food I think we've spent under 15 quid this weekend but I feel like we've done loads and enjoyed it.

Thanks everyone! I so hope I don't get ill I've got a big weekend planned. Will be having an early night as I'm sure I'll be up most of it.

Maybe when my tumble dryer dies I'll get a spin dryer. Or is it drier? Both words look weird now

I had to see the ooh GP again. My stomach (and now kidneys too) is so flippin' painful but she pressed around and said it's unlikely to be gallbladder related. Phew! I'm no longer dehydrated and I'm not yellow. She said I'll probably be sensitive to lactose for a while.

I hope I get better before we move house!

DH cleared out the shed today. It worries me that we accumulate so much crap in 18 months. change in shopping habits required!

Oh yes collie I would cut dairy out completely and slowly reintroduce it. Hopefully you're on the mend now

£7 getting dh car washed. It hasn't been done for months so ok.

We save every month for dental and medical which is to cover prescriptions. I've had a £50 set of prescription charges before now.

£3.45 on period bollocks. I'm annoyed because I accidentally bought i locks scented always. Eugh. Now am hyper aware of the smell. I've just ranted to dh that no, as well as not being able to go sea swimming for fear of attracting sharks that and it's October and I'd freeze I have a fanny that smells like roses so I'll probably attract a hive of effinng bees.

Hormonal moodyness anyone??

Boobs the vet can give a Six monthly flea treatment jab - think it is called Program. The price is about the same as you would spend on the drops for the back of the neck.
