Exactly need it shouldn't matter but "society" tells us that we should do xyz. So we do. Then shame others.

I'm on cup of tea 5. Yay I love tea

Made my list for this evening.

WreckTangled · 20/10/2016 15:49

Boobs fuck not wearing any make up to work. I can just about manage the supermarket, actually no I can't.

I'm feel very sorry for myself with my cold. I spent £2.60 on lunch and £1 at the cake sale. Successful day at work almost completed a big boring such a headache audit that is due in soon.

BertieTodd · 20/10/2016 15:50

Frugal win last night, my friend owed me for another friend's birthday present a few months back so she covered dinner and the cinema.

Spends today:
€3 green tea

CremeEggThief · 20/10/2016 16:00

Gosh, a day without posting, and so much to catch up on!

Glad it went well at the GP, Genie. Has she suggested some strategies and asked you to make a follow-up appointment?

Need, I wouldn't mind giving my local Park run a go, but it's at 9 a.m. on a Saturday; that's my idea of too early, let alone 7 a.m. I hope you enjoy it though!Grin

Spends: yesterday £9.70 travel, £3.80 Sainsburys café and £7.53 towards 2 gifts for Christmas, some decorating equipment and a clothes airer, after using £25 worth of Nectar points. NSD today. I'm hiding from the window cleaner, as I have no cash in the house!Smile

CremeEggThief · 20/10/2016 16:10

I like clothes and shoes, dye my hair and have salon manicures, pedicures and waxing, and always wear some jewellery, but I very rarely wear make-up. I have 1 concealer, 1 powder, 1 blusher, 1 foundation, an eye shadow palette and 3 lipsticks in my make-up bag and some of those are a few years old. I don't think I've ever worn eyeliner in my life! My mum has never really bothered with make-up either, apart from a love of bright lipstick, so maybe that's why? I would wear some to a wedding or a special night out though. Kudos to you Genie for going au-naturel on your wedding day.Star

WreckTangled · 20/10/2016 16:12

Whenever I don't wear make up people say 'are you ok? You look really tired' er no that's just my normal face Hmm

AGenie · 20/10/2016 16:14

Thanks need. You're helping with my handling-conflict training, which is quite useful actually. Smile

I agree about the make up thing. It's fine with or without. I only worry if people feel under pressure to do something that doesn't fit who they want to be. I mention my wedding because people told me I had to wear makeup and I was glad I had the courage to do my normal thing.

WreckTangled · 20/10/2016 16:27

I don't have an opinion on what other people do with regard to make up. If anything I'm jealous that they have the confidence not to wear it.

Needastrongone · 20/10/2016 16:34

Creme. I was just going to ask where you where, and then you pop up! We are actually doing 8/9 miles at 7.15am, then running to the Park Run and doing that. Smile Interestingly I do all of your listed 'cosmetic' type things, but rarely wear jewellery apart from rings (wedding and eternity).

Grin at wrecked Grin

Hope you feel better soon Snuggly, must be hard feeling crap at the minute.

Might I just mention how lovely both the receptionist and nurse were today as a big thumbs up for the NHS (wrecked and *girlie). The receptionist was kind and helpful, and the nurse, who had come in on her day off as they were short staffed took the trouble to share with me something personal, to reassure me about me being referred on.

NeversellahouseCollie · 20/10/2016 16:59

NeversellahouseCollie · 20/10/2016 17:10

Get well soon snuggly

AGenie · 20/10/2016 18:10

Thanks creme.

My GP's practice people were very nice today too. Smile

NSD!

Hope you feel better soon Snuggly

SnugglySnerd · 20/10/2016 19:03

Thanks everyone. I'm not too bad just have a very gurgly tummy and had to make a couple of quick dashes to the loo which is why I haven't wanted to go out all afternoon.
Managed to eat some dinner and am just sipping peppermint tea.

CremeEggThief · 20/10/2016 19:09

Yep, can't keep me away for too long, NeedWink.

Tryingtosaveup · 20/10/2016 19:39

Hope you feel better soon Snuggly. Feeling ill is bad enough but when you little ones who don't understand it is so much worse.
Boobs, I used to talk to my cat all the time. He was the only one who gave me sensible answers ( or the answers I wanted to hear)
Need, enjoy your run. You are making me want to get off this sofa and start running (well, it would have to be walking to start with) again.
Collie, any good news?
AGenie, glad you feel good after your appointment. Sometimes just telling it all helps. Hope it gets sorted for you.
Well very spendy today.
Had to buy tiles for cloakroom floor. It's tiny...downstairs loo basically. £79 for 2sq m. of tiles. But they are nice.
Then had to choose toilet and wash basin. Scared to think how much but it's all out of my savings.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 20/10/2016 19:44

genie I don't wear a huge amount of makenuo and actually the most ive ever worn was on my wedding day.

I am looking forward to Halloween. We're having A Halloween bake sale at work on the Friday. And are all dressing up. The theme this year - dead musicians.

I'm trying to make my hair go into a beehive. So I can be zombie winehouse.

I'm actually dreading tomorrow. My skin looks awful right now. It's all broken out. I've been drinking more water and I suspect this coupled with stupid hormones is the cause. will take makeup bag with me to work just in case I can't do it

Payday tomorrow!!!!!! Dh is treating me to breakfast at my fave cafe. They do the best. Best. Best breajfast ever. Pancakes bacon fried egg and maple syrup. Yummmm

It's greasy. But just enough iykwim.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 20/10/2016 19:45

need I'm also a bit jealous. I'm not sure I could run 11metres.

CremeEggThief · 20/10/2016 20:10

I'm trying to walk 3 or 4 miles at least twice a week lately, as well as my Pilates class. Hopefully I'll build it up to 4 times a week. I'd also love to do another exercise class in the evening, but any of the ones I like are around an hour's travel time each way, so I'm not sure how to do it with dinner, as eating before 5 is too early and after 8 is a bit late, especially if I have to cook. Ideally I'd do it on a Wednesday, as I've already paid out for travel for work that day, but I can't find what I want on that day. Agh, so complicated!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/10/2016 20:17

Hi all just siging on Smile

Glad appointment was useful genie

Thanks need its always good to be appreciated, you have no idea how much grief and abuse we get from patients at times so the odd thank you really helps even things out!!

Wreck I'm the same, if i don't out make up on all I get is concerned looks all day Hmm I don't wear a lot though tbh, just a bit of max factor all in one foundation type stuff to try and hide the bags under my eyes and some mascara. I only get my hair cut twice a year and don't have any beauty treatments - although tbf I def would if I had the money!! I have long hair that is constantly tied up but looks alright when I can be bothered to straighten it!!

Need and boobs you are both mad for getting out of bed that early!! I am Envy at you being able to do exercise and not look like you are about to have a heart attack - like moir Wink

Dd is out at a school disco tonight, bless her she got herself already and came down looking beautiful I think I had a 'my baby is growing up' moment.

So spends today;
£24 for dds drama group for next term.
£16 for the school photo (ridiculously expensive!)
£7 on various bits in the chemist
£3 to dd for the disco.

SnugglySnerd · 20/10/2016 20:19

Enjoy your breakfast, Em, I love pancakes with syrup!
I talk to the cat too. He is currently giving me his most pathetic look as he wants to sit on my lap but I'm in the wrong position for him. I can feel him willing me to move!
My insides sound like I have a bear growling in there!

NeversellahouseCollie · 20/10/2016 20:20

trying apparently all missing paperwork will arrive tomorrow and then we can think about exchanging contracts! Shock I doubt it though.

We have had lots of legal and financial advice and it's been recommended that we go into rented accommodation for a few years. So as soon as we exchange contracts we can apply for a house. Exciting!

And it works out nicely for us too. Rent is cheaper than a mortgage there and being chain free is a massive bonus.

I also invested in a local business a few months ago and that'll help massively towards our equity when it comes to buy again in a few years.

I feel very anxious as I'm terrified it'll all fall through at last minute. Just have to stay positive and be practical about the whole thing. I really want this move to work out as it will make us so happy. It's a dream come true really.

NSD tomorrow but the weekly shop is due. Hopefully the last weekly shop we need in this house or maybe the penultimate :)

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/10/2016 20:36

Your are in the hands of others now collie. In sure it will be fine but ikwym, it's hard not to stress when there is nothing you can do.

I used to love running need. 10k was my distance choice but I'm banned now. Must get back to the gym though as imin that cycle of not feeling great so not wanting to go.
Pleased the doctors went well.
Gws snuggly
Boobs enjoy breakfast.
I always talked to ddog, he would prick his ears and to his head to one side listening intently.
Nsd

PS I got a full refund of the game company tonight. Woohoo. Took a bit of organising as they are on pacific time and we are bst but they rang me tonight

ItalianWiking84 · 20/10/2016 20:39

Envy all you runners and doing excercise ppl. I get exhausted by just singing dds night song at the moment. Had midwife appointment today and apparently she does it think baby dd has grown so back to growth scan tomorrow Sad really hope shes mistaken.
I'm doing mostly online shopping for baby dd and dd at the moment. I'm trying to find drinking bottle with mumin but without luck, have anybody seen this?
I'm also trying to think of things baby dd can wish for Christmas but I'm kinda clueless, she'll be anything between 4-6 weeks. Any ideas?

ItalianWiking84 · 20/10/2016 20:40

Get well soon snugly. How fare are you in the pregnancy?
