wilderness technically that's what we have been doing. She's made herself a nest in our hallway wooden floors and can run round and up and down. I was trying to encourage the living room/dining room/kitchen purely because it's a bigger space, and in the daytime it's light bright warm and very sunny. I was working on her going in there alone at nighttime getting used to it and then she'd be more comfortable being there with us in the day.

She's sat on the windowsill now. I just heard her jump up. She's shouting at god knows what outside.

Needastrongone · 19/10/2016 22:15

Chickens to cheer you up!

Behind on the thread. Had an awesome day (I know I shouldn't have a favourite pupil :o Blush but one is just making astounding progress - not just academically but emotionally - and it leaves me awestruck every lesson that I am lucky enough to help him do that! Just wow!) but a ridiculously tough evening with DD that has made me want to sob my heart out TBH. A lot of stuff was going on at school that I just had no idea of. :(

Frugal win - had paid a deposit for an event we went to last week. Knew it was a free event fundamentally but didn't mind paying a fiver each for the convenience of not having to apply for tickets etc. But the lady who organised it refunded us all today so my PayPal balance has increased.

8FencingWire · 20/10/2016 06:06

italian, good to see you! Lovely pics!!!!
electric, you're a very good cat mum :)
Hello ladies, nearly the weekend Grin !!!
LSD yesterday, £3.10 in the corner shop for milk, bread, eggs and some lollypops for DD. We had parents evening too :) She's good.
Omelette tonight at ours :)

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/10/2016 06:17

11 miles at 7 am on a Saturday - nutter
Boobs, you are a good cat mum. It's just about getting in the routine of what catface likes.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 20/10/2016 06:49

need I agree with life what were you thinking? 11mikes at 7am???? On a Saturday???? Eugh.

Though I am off to spinning....am currently at the gym. Waiting for the class to start.

Am really hoping that the litter is the issue. Catface was less noisy last night. She uses her box at around 930/10 each evening and again at 6. We knew this. We can hear it. She then meows to let us know she's done.

ive scooped the litter this morning and given her the first of her breakfasts (we have to measure out the food then give it to her in stages otherwise she eats all her biscuits at once and then throws up) dh will do second breakfast.

It's just getting into a mutually convenient routine. She is noisiest at night time. Really chatty and playful. This starts after her evening poop. Tonight I'm going to see if I can play with her. Dh suggested we stay up a bit and see if we can interact with her more. So that's tonight's plan.

Definetly buying other cat litter. The wood one is noisy. And a pita to scoop. It's nice that it's eco friendly and everything but it's super noisy. And heavy.

WreckTangled · 20/10/2016 07:26

Should be a nsd. Have a really sore throat. Oh actually dd's school is having a cake sale so maybe £1-£2 on that.

I wear uniform two days and office wear the other. Today I have thick black tights, an oversized shirt dress (with a waist tie) and knee high boots.

Needastrongone · 20/10/2016 07:59

So you are at the gym, at 6.45 waiting to do a class and you are telling me off for running at 7am....GrinGrin

I suspect that catface will take however much time as she needs. You've made great progress. Only know about dogs, but I have friends with rescue dogs that have literally settled in from the moment of walking through the door, and others have taken much longer and needed more work. It's hard, as there's no way of knowing what they have experienced.

Hopefully a NSD, unless I pick up the sedation from the vets.

I will be wearing something from Hush....

NeversellahouseCollie · 20/10/2016 08:01

Get well soon wreck
need I love the chickens!

LSD we need milk.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 20/10/2016 08:04

need yep. Difference being...you're doing early mornings on a Saturday!

Ursulatodd · 20/10/2016 08:50

Electric sounds like sleepless nights with catface is good practice for sleepless nights with babies! Every night is different here - trial and error - last night more error as I woke sleeping babies to feed at 3am and they were then unsettled for the rest of the night!

£2 yesterday on coffee&cake with baby group. Hopefully a NSD today.

mammymammyIRL · 20/10/2016 08:59

I must be the only one who read needs post about running 11miles on a sat morning with jealousy Grin

I'm dreaming of a time when I can do this. Things are improving and dh knows I've signed up for 5k in jan, 5 mls in feb, 10k in mar and 10mls in Apr with the aim of doing a half marathon next summer so if I'm going to do this I'll need to train and that means one long run a week.

mammymammyIRL · 20/10/2016 09:02

need the chickens made me smile, we will have chickens again first week of March or even Feb if the weather is mild this winter.

keep. I'm old fashioned and just write everything down as soon as I spend it, no matter when it comes out of the account. At the start of the months I take off all our outgoings, then an allocation for petrol and the cleaner etc, then divide the rest into 4 or 5, depending on weeks until next payday. There will be far more technical ways to do so, but this works for me.

Mammy You will definitely be the only one. Grin. That's exactly how I started getting into running when I ran before the long lay off. I'm after a couple more chucks, but DH is resisting.

Genie Good luck for your appointment with the GP. Will you let us know how it goes?

SnugglySnerd · 20/10/2016 10:08

Our cat has given us far more sleepless nights than DD ever has! If he's not yowling he's trying to shove us out of bed so he can lie in the warm spot!
Just spent £112 in Asda which is a lot but included 3 packs of nappies,DD's coat, pjs for me, lots of cat food and dishwasher tablets so actually not horrific. They had run out of His Catship's preferred cat litter so will have to go out again later.
Plan for rest of day is to do laundry, vacuuming and make soup, curry, pasta bake and savoury muffins with DD.
Need to collect duvet from laundrette too which I think will be about £13.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 20/10/2016 11:18

Am off to the pet shop at lunchtime (drove in today) to get some clumping cat litter. And pick up my discount card.

Bizarrely catface was quieter last night. Maybe she was trying to tell me something.
We had a good chat this morning. We both made promises. I promised to keep on top of her litter and to make sure she's safe and loved. She promised to try not to pee on the couch again. Or at least I think she did.

AGenie · 20/10/2016 11:53

Gosh! I've missed about a million posts.

Electric I love that your are challenging your office folks to spend less on clothes and go into work without make up. You're basically saying that you love them just as they are, and that is wonderful. I would be very happy to be on the receiving end of that.

I had my hour long visit to the GP. It was nice to get the whole story told in one go. It was useful to realise that she thinks I work full time, when in fact I can barely leave the house. She says I've to try and get my home workload and my adrenaline levels under control a bit more, and try to get some RL support network.

need I hear your suggestion of writing things down. As a good scientist I'm well down that route, and went in there with a spiral hard back notebook with 6 years medical history in it. #sorted

You are a loon Em Grin

Glad the got the whole hour with the GP Genie and got to speak at length and that it helped. I am not sure that I would be happy with her response, but that's just me. You are basically housebound, with a whole heap of undiagnosed dietary issues and anxiety. No referral to a nutritionist or psychologist? Being within your own 4 walls must be hard to take mentally for anyone and not a long term solution. What is your workload exactly? What did she say about your DS, as the appointment was for him too? Did she give you some contacts for support groups? I am really on your side here, this isn't a 'having a go' post. Smile

I've been to the Doctors too this morning, for a routine appointment. However they are sending me for a scan and investigations. I am not going to worry until there's something to worry about. That would be fairly pointless and I don't have time. Grin

Needastrongone · 20/10/2016 12:43

Actually, Genie. This is none of my business, so ignore my post, which was written out of concern, but not thought through. Smile

AGenie · 20/10/2016 13:16

Need I do appreciate your concern Smile. Thank you for keeping fighting for me. Smile The GP also did pretty much all of that, but I thought probably it is TMI for the frugaleers.

OP posts:
Shesgotelectricboobs · 20/10/2016 13:23

genie glad things went well at the GPS and I hope you are able to work things through and they get better.

Day one no make up is tomorrow. Eeek.

need I've been talking to catface since we got her. Apparently it's important that they get to know your voice. I've been sitting on the floor near her and telling her about my day and what's going on and if I'm using laptop what I'm doing. I was reading to her (until I started the latest jilly cooper and then thought her young ears aren't old enough for gay sort of thing!!)

AGenie · 20/10/2016 14:35

Electric Good luck with the no make up. I wish I could show you my wedding photograph. No make up whatsoever and still looking the business. It can be done.

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 20/10/2016 15:07

I talk to my dogs all the time Boobs, constantly, you are not alone.

I'm glad that the GP did all of those things Genie. Thanks for taking my post in the spirit that it was intended. Smile

Does it really matter whether we wear make up or not? Isn't it about supporting choice and acceptance, whatever that choice may be? Some people love clothes and make up, so have no interest whatsoever. Both choices are fine by me.

Some days I walk the dogs in joggers, sweater and no make up. Today I have a new dress on, new coat and make up. I'm happy whatever. Smile

£5 Boxercise and that will be it for me today.

SnugglySnerd · 20/10/2016 15:19

Ugh I'm finding today hard work. Have a bit of a stomach upset and feel quite uncomfortable. Have managed to do some washing and vacuuming and DD helped me to sort out her toy box and tidy it all up. Otherwise I haven't achieved much and CBeebies has been on for far too long.
