It's finally gone. Ds has let me snooze on the sofa Smile

Eva50 · 03/10/2016 14:09

NSDs yesterday and today. Free school meals sorted✔️ thank goodness and I'm gradually using up the food in the freezer. Chilli con carne tonight. Still got to make a meal plan for the rest of the week. I plan to shop at Lidl tomorrow evening whilst ds3 is at his activity. I was really pleased with my purchases from there last week.

mammymammyIRL · 03/10/2016 16:40

I'm a couple of days behind. I inadvertently signed up for Amazon Prime - have set reminder for a few days before renewal to cancel, aim to make the most of it for 30 days Smile they seem to be doing an offer on amazon gift cards buy £30 and get £7 credit

CremeEggThief · 03/10/2016 16:40

Spends: £8.35 posting a parcel to my sister in Ireland (the waterproofs from Lidl).
£4.15 shop (milk, bread rolls and a huge block of Anchor mature cheddar for £2).
£7.65 pharmacy (vitamin D3, multi-vitamins and minerals and spray deodorant for both of us).
£6.50 barbers for DS.
Total: £26.65.

I might get the bus back from Pilates later, which will be £1.90, or I might walk.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 03/10/2016 17:25

Donuts were wonderful. 25 donuts for £13. Yum.

Finally on my way home. Feel awful. Dh has promised a healthy spicy veggie stir fry to banish my snot.

Today's spends:

Donuts
£5.15 sandwich Coke and crisps (necessary to feed my cold)

£7.90 in m&s for fruit. £5.90 was fruit. £2 was a Christmas lottery ticket. Scratched the scratchy part and won £2.

I'm going to watch that ted talk. I love a ted talk.

Sierra259 · 03/10/2016 17:44

Get well soon all of you still feeling ill - em/boobs yours seems to have been going on forever!

Am very Envy at all the successful decluttering. My messy, overcluttered house is part of my bad mood I think. I just never get time to really get stuck into it with the DC around all day, plus DH is a bit of a hoarder and hates throwing anything out. The DC have a 3 year gap, so I need to hang onto things until DC2 is ready for them

On the plus side NSD. Took the DC conkering and played in the garden in the lovely sunshine Smile DH has apparently bought me a cake from his work McKellen cake sale now I'm hoping it's a doughnut

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/10/2016 18:03

Hi all, YY to decluttering moving was great for making me sort loads of stuff out. I was pretty ruthless in the end and got rid of loads of stuff that I was hanging onto 'just in case' Hmm Can't believe you still had a tin of formula stashed away though Genie Grin

You are making me want a doughnut boobs!!

Been a busy day at work, non stop visits and still have some bits to do now actually. Put the car through the car wash for £5 as it was filthy and getting a bit Blush

Shesgotelectricboobs · 03/10/2016 18:12

I think my cold has been lingering for ever. It's now properly come out. Sore throat snots face pain all at once. Hoping it'll go in a couple of days.

Either that or it's a new one...

Tryingtosaveup · 03/10/2016 19:38

Very productive day here but not doing all the paper work stuff that I should be doing.
Repotted 34 strawberry plants and runners so am hoping for some strawberries next year.
Had to use up a pumpkin so made pumpkin and lentil soup and plain pumpkin soup. Just need to buy creme fraiche and double cream tomorrow to finish them off.
And my slow cooker is full of veg ready to be switched on in the morning
NSD , 2nd this month. Aiming for 15 again.

Collieballs · 03/10/2016 19:51

We spent roughly £10 in Sainsbury's on paracetamol, DS trousers and bacon.
So first NSD fail. Oops.

Packed another box up just now - full of boardgames. Must play boardgames more often. I'm thinking of hosting a games night once a month to include GameCube, Xbox and boardgames! Grin nerdtastic. Our friends would love that! They can bring Le ale.

ItalianWiking84 · 03/10/2016 20:02

Spendy day today. Dh is off so went grocery shopping and stocked up on the heavy stuff so I don't have to carry it. Approx 30£ in lidl and 60£ in rema. That included 2 whole chickens, 2 easy freeze fishes, 3 packs of medister, lots of veggies and diapers. Need to make a meal plan but dh is now sleeping so will wait. Dh made potato soup for dinner and there's 5 liter for the freezer....
Also dh was at the chiropractor but luckily no need to come back so last check up 40£. Should get around 40£ in total for the sessions back from his work insurance end of this month.
My friend had a cs this morning so need a little birth gift for her girl... She's a gorgeous little Viking Smile
Been at my grand mother with the fabric for the baby nest and dh and me took my great grand parents out for grocery shopping so the could some stuff as well.

ItalianWiking84 · 03/10/2016 20:08

I've put some different bits of for sale, mainly stuff from dd that we aren't going to use for baby dd, just hope now it's also going to sell... Sight.. Had clutter and having to much stuff... Gotten 15 pregnancy and baby magazines for free from a friend, frugal win. Will pass them on when I finished them

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/10/2016 20:22

£1.44 nail tech text book & zoom groom off eBay. I used nectar vouchers for the rest.
£10 petrol
£13 work stuff
£4 sausage but checkoutsmart will reimburse all if it.
70p tea bags
93p beef suet for treacle puddings
90p custard for same.

Our heating is on. For precisely 20 minutes.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/10/2016 20:47

Nsd success.
Feeling really pissed over but not sure if I'm being over sensitive. Sick of negative people winging on. One of those can't do right for doing wrong days.

Sorry self pity over. Need to have another nsd tomorrow. Will be fine

Cagliostro · 04/10/2016 00:47

Thanks for the ideas for the dungeons and dragons :) will hopefully move forward on that soon.

I've done sod all today as feeling crappy. Meeting a new home ed mum tomorrow, got picnic stuff so shouldn't be spendy

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 04/10/2016 05:58

Aiming for nsd today.

Been waiting ages for some cashback but apparently have to wait four weeks past the estimated 22 weeks(!!) before I can raise a claim. Only one more week to go...

Shesgotelectricboobs · 04/10/2016 06:58

Nsd today. Staying home as the snot has fully taken over my face. Sad

I've also woken up with a gigantic spot on my chin. Hmm

Lots of hot drinks and sleep and daytime tv for me.

Sunnysky2016 · 04/10/2016 06:58

Good Mornjng All! I'm new to mums net and obviously this thread! Mind if I join you?
What an ace idea- I am the worlds worst spender, but reading the comments, I'm inspired that today I will make ds1 and ds2 a packed lunch instead of nipping into Tesco's on the way to school........ Fingers crossed today I won't spend anything.........

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/10/2016 07:23

Welcome sunny
Nsd planned today
Boobs maybe a day of is exactly what is needed

ItalianWiking84 · 04/10/2016 07:28

Still having a cold, bloody annoying so do t know if I take dd to gym today... She'll love to go but I'm feeling lousy...
Have a be ready at 10 am to try to buy some Metallica tickets for dh and some mates. They are 90£ a piece Shock but I really wanna also encourage him to settle here and find friends so think it would be well spent for him to have a great night with friends...

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/10/2016 07:32

Welcome Sunny everyone's welcome here.

Boobs Have you ever tried menthol crystals? You dissolve a few (only a few, too many and it's over powering so you need to add a few at a time so it's effective not torture) in a mug of boiling water and inhale the vapour.

It can work where nasal sprays have failed. We always keep them in stock. A pharmacy will have them, it's usually £2-3 for 15g but they last ages. Amazon sell them too.

WreckTangled · 04/10/2016 07:39

Welcome sunny!

I emailed the school yesterday to complain about two boys (brothers) being unkind to dd on the bus. They live down our road and dd often plays with them but they're just horrible and rude. I feel for them as they're only like it because that's how their mum is with them but how long can that be used as an excuse for? When they're 10/15/35/60?! Poor dd wants everyone to like her so continues to play with them.

Collieballs · 04/10/2016 07:40

Get well soon everyone. I know lots of people who've had a 24 hour vomiting bug this week too (Inc me). So be extra careful.

Hopefully going swimming today in Newquay so a spendy day

Shesgotelectricboobs · 04/10/2016 07:46

fluffy no haven't tried that. Don't have any but I have Vicks. That's sort of the same right? Will try it later.

For the moment I'm in bed with duvet and blanket, sports direct mug of earl grey (obviously I'm ill as the sports direct mug is out...) book phone and the window is wide open. looks like a lovely day out there.

Currry for dinner tonight. Chicken soup for lunch.

Have gotten through half a box of tissues already today gross

Will be back to work tomorrow (usually the snot goes away after a couple of days - I'm spending today trying to evict it!)

AGenie · 04/10/2016 09:04

Electric. It's definitely an odd virus this. I don't have the coldy symptoms but I do still have the fever and no appetite and sinus headache, and this sinus headache part never ever happens to me normally. This is day 13 for me and I think 15 for you. We're going for the record now. I've decided to bring out the big guns and watch the whole Star Wars trilogy on tv. Serious problems call for serious solutions.

Collie I love that you bought paracetamol, trousers, and bacon. In a truly minimalist lifestyle, those are the only things we would need.

I am carefully not spending any money.
