Ah, apparently it was New Jersey, feel a bit stupid now. Sorry Blush

AGenie · 29/09/2016 17:08

blueteapot am I right in thinking that you were a GP before?

Collieballs · 29/09/2016 17:11

Welcome back blue definitely set a budget with DH. Take it slowly BrewCake

I can't even look at my foot! It's sooo painful. I'm hoping the pain will ease tomorrow.

Has anyone else got a savings account linked to a current account? I'm finding it too easy to take money from my savings to top up our current account. It's because both accounts are with the same bank so it's super easy & instant online. I think I need to take a certain amount and leave it in an unconnected bank account so I need a card reader etc to send funds over. BlushBlush definitely going to sort this out tonight!

Also like the idea upthread about deleting stored payment details. Another task that I'll do.

I'm reading up about Hygge! The Danish way of being cosy, living simply and being with friends & family.

blueteapot · 29/09/2016 17:23

We have collie - its much too easy to transfer money so thats one of my other objectives over the next few weeks - open a separate savings account and see if that helps with frittering

Agenie yes I was in training part time but that has ended now (August) and I've decided not to persue it any further as a career - too stressful - ideally I want to do something less pressured in the longer term but for now its some time with the kids for as long as we can manage

Counting my blessings we have a roof over our heads, 2 wonderful kids, DHs job although not well paying is pretty secure, and for the first time in a long time Im feeling really positive about the future. Long may it last!

mammymammyIRL · 29/09/2016 17:23

Hi blue I've also namechanged but glad to see you back. Are you loving being at home with the dc? I had a second job and gave it up to be home more with the dc, still work long hours but once I walk out of my day job in the evening I'm focused on dc, dh and me unlike before.

I had a spendy day today - blanket for my nans 90th €50, photos from local newspaper €39 (€15 paid by paypal from surveys), €182 to au pair and must go to town for tights, false nails, wedding card for wedding Sat and to my weigh in this evening. I laminated a pic of dh's uncle that died today and the laminator swallowed it so had to order a replacement and while I was there I got pic of dd's first day at school Smile
Tomorrow's spends will be €55 on nct for au pairs car.

blueteapot · 29/09/2016 17:24

Are there trains on jersey boobs? (Love the name change lol)

Shesgotelectricboobs · 29/09/2016 17:24

snuggly I just had to check...there aren't any trains here!

mammymammyIRL · 29/09/2016 17:28

collie I had that problem too with savings account. I set up an account with rabodirect, need a little thingy to log in to it and transfers will happen that evening if before 12pm or following day if not. I leave it at work so that I can't transfer at weekends when I randomly want to buy stuff Smile It earns a teeny bit of interest Smile

ItalianWiking84 · 29/09/2016 17:30

Hi again blue Smile
Need: yeah it made me smile and be a bit proud of my little strong girl, who clearly can tell of ppl and things Grinher bump is on the other hand huuuuge and I really feel for her... But luckily she seems to just be her usual self...

mammymammyIRL · 29/09/2016 17:30

agenie that article is interesting. I have savings but they're for future expenses really as opposed to just because. I also have savings which are security for my car loan and I can't touch them until it's clear.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 29/09/2016 17:30

www.littletrain.co.uk/

Damm posted too soon. I meant to say no trains here except this one!

Freezing today. I am wearing tights from Monday. Wore yellow scarf today with my new burgandy shirt dress. Felt incredibly stylish. doesn't always happen

Tonight's jobs - washing. Putting stuff away. Cleaning kitchen from last nights baking.

Have been outbid on the hush skirt. its up to £19.50. it's on my watch list. If the price stays at £19.50 for the next 3 days I may increase to £20.

ItalianWiking84 · 29/09/2016 17:33

Collie: hygge is an amazing thing, the best word ever Smile we use it about so many things and it's so fitting... Couldn't imagine a life without hygge Grin

Shesgotelectricboobs · 29/09/2016 17:37

genie interesting article. I don't think I'd be comfortable without any savings.

collie hygiene sounds amazing. So simple but why don't more of us do it? I suppose I try and do this. Keep things simple. Try not to be materialistic difficult but I have got loads better that's dh's influence etc

I read something yesterday about "earthing" apparently we should be doing it at least once a day. Earring is basically walking barefoot. To be at one with nature. To connect with the Earth. Apparently you're meant to focus on being at one and being calm etc. I walk barefoot a lot. But don't think I've ever "earthed".

May try it this evening when I take the bins out. Walk barefoot across the car park to the bin cage then again may not

I'm on a mindfulness course next week. Persuaded work to pay for it. Grin

blueteapot · 29/09/2016 17:38

How do you say it? Hi-ge?

Collieballs · 29/09/2016 17:44

italian i just love love love it! We don't have a word for it here but it's what DH & I a lot. When I read what it meant I was like "I found my people!" Smile

Is it pronounced hoo-gah??

boobs hygiene is pretty amazing! Hahaha. Grin

ItalianWiking84 · 29/09/2016 17:45

Blue: Hygge is pronounced hue-gah...

Collieballs · 29/09/2016 17:46

Right, I'm moving to Denmark

ItalianWiking84 · 29/09/2016 17:49

You can read more about it here m.visitdenmark.com/danish-meaning-hygge

Collie: I'm sure lots of British ppl are doing hygge, it's just funny you guys don't really have a word for it. We use it as hygge, hyggeligt (thank you for a hyggelig after) uhyggeligt (about eg Halloween) so it's used a lot. The first word my dh learned as well

ItalianWiking84 · 29/09/2016 17:50

Collie: your more than welcome here. We are quite nice ppl and we speak English lol...

Toasterwaffle · 29/09/2016 17:54

I have name changed too, fresh start and all that :) (its teapot!)

Another creative choice based on whats sat on the worktop lol

Shesgotelectricboobs · 29/09/2016 18:19

I want to hygge. I'm moving to Denmark. Apparently it's full of beautiful people. so I should fit right in haha! Grin

Moroccan fish couscous tonight for dinner.

SnugglySnerd · 29/09/2016 19:04

I feel even more stupid now, I didn't know there were no trains on Jersey!
Have paid off my credit card in full (about £200). I want to start doing some Xmas shopping online and decided I'd like to start with a blank slate.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2016 19:06

Welcome back blue

Yes collie I do that too Blush should def get a different savings acct

Should have been a nsd but remembered this morning that dd needs a harvest festival box for tomorrow (they donate to the local food bank) so need to get some bits for that. We're really poor right now though so there won't be much going in it Blush

ItalianWiking84 · 29/09/2016 19:31

Boobs I take the compliment about beautiful ppl, thank you Wink but I'm not sure you guys would like our tax percents and can't remember who were home schooling, but that's not allowed in Denmark. But we do have free health care, free schools all the way trough uni and get paid to study when we turn 18 Wink

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/09/2016 19:38

Welcome back Blue. Well done leaving healthcare.

£8 fish and chips because we're still hospital visiting. I have a headache from all the driving.
