Blimey this thread moves fast.
Great new name Boob
£8.90 on car park. £6.80 on hotel brekky for tomorrow , can claim all back though.
I have 5 pairs shoes, 1 boots and I trainers

mammymammyIRL · 29/09/2016 05:32

Girlie you have to come back to us with correct answer to that maths question.

Sierra259 · 29/09/2016 06:10

Wow this thread fills up fast. Not had time to read properly - DC2 is snotty, teething and has a bit of conjunctivitis. She is absolutely miserable and wants to be cuddled constantly, bless her. £18 in Co-op yesterday but that was mostly formula after Tesco utterly cocked up our delivery on Tuesday. £1.50 bus fare for nursery pick up. Should be NSD/Lsd today.

Hope all the sick Frugaleers are starting to feel better Flowers

Collieballs · 29/09/2016 07:22

Sorry the thread is moving so fast. It's probably my fault as I keep having frugal thoughts & worries. Then the £160 for a legit man & van absolutely floored me. It's such a bargain! Saved at least £100.

NSD.

More packing today. I feel a bit risky by packing before exchange. But if I don't I'll have 7 days to pack as completion is early November! Shock

Nectar balance is now £17!

Shesgotelectricboobs · 29/09/2016 07:27

collie never to early for packing for moving. I had a client once who packed before he'd even bought a place... he wanted to be prepared.

I hate packing. When we bought our flat I packed and unpacked. Unlacked all but one box which I found under the spare bed three years later. Still packed.

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/09/2016 07:30

Collie, never apologise for putting your thoughts down. Pack away it takes longer than you think.

needastrongone · 29/09/2016 07:32

I agree, de-clutter and pack what you can, it will help loads Collie.

Spends today will be
£45 nails, toes, brows.
£5 Boxercise.
£100 Ocado. But food for the last competition of the season at weekend there too.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2016 08:03

Will be nsd as I have no money and I'm working Grin

Shesgotelectricboobs · 29/09/2016 08:32

Spends today £21 eyebrow and bikini wax.

SnugglySnerd · 29/09/2016 09:48

Hang on...you can get change on a bus? Even from notes?? On Birmingham buses you need exact change and you put it in a meter thing, the driver doesn't deal with money at all. It's really annoying because if you don't have small change you end up putting a quid in and wasting money as you can't get change. It is one of the reasons I don't go on buses very often! There have been a few attacks on buses near us lately which also puts me off and parking is usually cheaper than bus fare each way.
Just spent £69 on weekly shop plus new socks for DH. His are more hole than sock!

needastrongone · 29/09/2016 10:23

I am absolutely shattered today. A lot of coffee will be consumed today frugaleers!Smile

Collieballs · 29/09/2016 11:14

I cut my foot open and it's so sore! Like walking on razor blades kinda sore. Such such bad timing. Really hoping it heals up fast but it looks deep and bled a lot. Grrr. I'm wearing 4 socks on 1 foot just to pad it out and make walking easier.

Had a brief Frugaleer panic earlier when I got locked out of my online bank for the first time in 8 years! All sorted. Phew!!

AGenie · 29/09/2016 11:36

Snugly When I visit Dublin they have another different scheme where the passengers get receipts and they can take the receipts to the central office to get their change. I think that's how it works anyway. It's been a long time since I did it. The oyster card scheme does sound sensible, but I suppose it needs a lot of infrastructure.

CremeEggThief · 29/09/2016 11:59

Ouch Collie, sounds nasty. If it's deep, it might need medical attention? I agree though with packing early if you have the time. I don't have lots of stuff, as I'm always banging on about, but I was caught out in our last move, by coming down with a sickness bug 3 days before the move. And I only get sickness bugs about once every 5 years! I still managed it, but I had to leave a couple of boxes of kitchen stuff behind and pick them up on the day I'd left clear to clean the old house.

Snerd, I think the bigger cities are much stricter about the right change, or in the case of London, no cash fares at all! Here, you can technically use a £20 note to pay, but unless you're getting a weekly ticket or a few fares, the driver will make a big fuss.

Need, well done on the running and Boxercise.

Back later with spends, as I'm taking DS out for a birthday meal.

ItalianWiking84 · 29/09/2016 12:16

Collie: if it's very deep I'd recommend getting it checked out, it might need stitches...
Dd felt this morning and smacked her forehead directly in to the door Sad huuuuuge bump on the forehead immiditly... Sad my poor poor little baby... But she's a robust little kiddy so after a bit of crying she went to the door and said stupid door, you can't hit ppl Grin wise girl Smile
And dh went to the chiropractor again yodau, 30£, but 10£ will be reimbursed, other than that nsd... And he found our missing baby stuff on the loft...

Am still sick with the flu, absolutely hideous. But luckily dh is off today so can relax a bit more...

Mumin is visiting our local mall Sunday so going to take dd there to meet him... We read mumin every night, so think she'll love seeing him...

Shesgotelectricboobs · 29/09/2016 12:48

Aside from the waxing spends £2 on cake. £6 in the pet shop on catmilk and non-jingley toys for catface. £3.20 for a white bread chicken mayo and cheese toastie and a Diet Coke.

Yummmmm

SnugglySnerd · 29/09/2016 13:06

Do you think it might need stitching, Collie?
Interesting about buses. They are just launching an Oyster type scheme in Birmingham but I gather it hasn't been very popular so far, I overheard some people discussing it in the shop, there is a £10 registration fee and they didn't want to pay it. Can't say I blame them! I was surprised the first time I went on a bus with my friend who lives in a small rural town and the driver wasn't sitting behind bullet-proof glass!!

AGenie · 29/09/2016 13:46

I just found a really interesting article about how 50% of people have less than £100 in savings. It sounds as thought we are doing pretty well here. :-)

needastrongone · 29/09/2016 15:37

Ouch Collie, not pleasant.

Well done to your daughter being so brave Italian, her shouting at the door made me smile.

Thanks Creme. I actually feel better for getting on and doing something. I know it's not possible for all, but keeping going and cracking on often pushes me though.

Had a lovely hours walk in the sunshine with the dogs.

Chilli and rice for tea. Not had that for ages. Yum.

Mummyshortlegz · 29/09/2016 16:12

I'm being rubbish at keeping up so I'm just jumping in now!

Went to hobbycraft and used some of a voucher to buy some bjts for Christmas.

I'm trying not to do my weekly shop till Saturday as I think I am well over budget in several places for September. Really got to reign it in hard for a while.

blueteapot · 29/09/2016 16:30

Hiya guys, have been following but not posting for a while - there have been some big changes in the teapot household (both life wise and financially!) and I am now a SAHM - need to cut back more than ever. Financially we cant really afford it but in terms of mental health for now we cant afford not to - we have some savings (not huge amounts) for backup so will have to see how it goes - one of todays objectives was to set a budget to go through with DH tomorrow but I have my head in the sand about it a bit - figured posting here again you guys would give me a kick up the bum!

Mummyshortlegz · 29/09/2016 16:36

Hi blue, I'm a sahm now too, I've name changes but I think we talked about both trying to live on one income to see if it was doable.
We are just about doing it but my savings pots are not looking good. I've got to get in control but it's tough!

blueteapot · 29/09/2016 17:00

Hi mummy! I think I can work out who you are lol :) I should probably name change soon myself!

We decided to just go for it and work out the details as we went along - big drop in income but major increase in happiness! How are you getting on with it?

That link is a bit scary, NI definitely has some serious areas of deprivation but I was surprised that we come top :/

SnugglySnerd · 29/09/2016 17:01

Welcome back Blue good to see you.
Boobs - are you ok? Saw in town that there was a train crash in Jersey today.
£4.20 return train fare to town but that was to return item to shop and pay cheques into bank so actually came back better off!
