NSD

fuzzpig · 05/03/2016 21:56

NSD here too :) (don't count the Tesco spend until the day the shopping comes as then I know the exact total)

I hope nobody minds if I'm a bit cheeky and post a petition here?

This is about the ID card for cheaper bus fares for children, I think I mentioned yesterday that they are having a consultation on it and may get rid. If anyone is willing to 'sign' that'd be awesome (you can do it as a guest without signing up for updates and all that shiz, they just send a link to click on your email) Thanks

link

And with that I'm off to bed. Well sort of, got to clear the sorting out I did this morning - DH can take out a box of recycling I gathered too - and OOOOPS take my medication Blush which helps me sleep. Fail.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/03/2016 22:06

Have had a nice girlie night with dd, we did face packs, glitter tattoos and painted our nails Grin was lovely!

The hamster seems very pleased with her new massive cage although as its now a cage rather than a tank the cats are very interested as well.....

My dad has been going on about going sugar free, he is diabetic and tbf it does seem to have done him a lot of good. Seriously think I would struggle though, I don't add sugar to anything but like the odd treat, plus things like yogurts. Am trying to be good though at the moment as all my clothes are feeling rather tight Blush

Plan toms is for a lie in, dd will hopefully make me breakfast in bed, may be good and go for a short run and then my mum is coming over and we are all going out for a roast dinner at local pub. Can't wait Smile

Ememem84 · 05/03/2016 23:21

girlie et al who are sugar free or thinking about it. Is it just refined sugar? I hope so a friend of mine tried to go completely sugar free a while ago. She used the daily fails free sugar book for guidance.

Basically she could eat celery. And drink vodka cranberry. or bleach. No sugar in bleach

I think I'd find it tough. Beneficial but tough.

Did see sugar free flapjacks advertised somewhere the other day. Asked how they could do that. The lady said instead of brown sugar they used golden syrup and maple syrup. They were delicious. But so sweet.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 06/03/2016 00:08

Slightly spendy day...all cash, not touched my current account for 4 days (I will get out of my overdraft, I will I will, it will also save me £20 ish a month in fees if I can).

£11.98 chicken and guinea pig food (trade off 24 eggs for this week)
£13.27 tesco, lunch bits, chocs for my mum etc
£13.47 garden centre, baby plants for my mum, 2 packs of seeds
£4.09 garden centre craft shop, circular needle (needed for cardi) and bits.

Oh, and I made a (small for me) suttons order, charlotte seed potatoes (I buy them every week, we love them roasted whole), shallot sets, and some more seeds. Paid for by paypal, which is my pocket money, as it is money I have made selling knitting on etsy, or things on ebay. I was saving for a gtech, but have blown most of it on yarn this week. Did get a tenner back from the postcode lottery though. Would have preferred 25k, but £10 was fine too!!

Curry ready meal from freezer for tea (bought when on offer), much better than take away price wise, and tasty enough.

Cardi wool arrived, it's very nice, am also knitting a bag as I am tired of my handbag, with yarn I already have, and pattern from looted magazine.

Happy mothers day everyone

Baby has his glasses crap experience never use specsavers one pair don't fit properly n other pair the band they eventually found as ordered o be hadn't come in basically comes off as soon as he pulls them as I am in city centre Mon have rang the big store and taking them in there and they will look at them but I am insisting the one pair go back as he doesn't look through the lenses they sit too low on his face he looks over the top. " should gone to specsavers except if you are a child"

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 06/03/2016 05:43

I'm case anyone is interested h&m code 6406 gets you 20% off n free delivery I needed some organic long sleeve vests for ds2 n they are 3.99 n 3 for 2 so with code £2.07 each not much left in 18-24 but got 3, only a recent find for us someone gave !me some in 12-18 and they are amazing quality thick wash well fit well so much better than supermarket ones and not much more expensive especially with that offer.

babsmam · 06/03/2016 07:25

Love the colour and the cardi style knitting. I'm coverting a similar style in next but in a jade green colour. £24 mind

WreckTangled · 06/03/2016 07:30

Morning! I've just had bacon and waffles in bed and the best home made card from dd. I want to show you all but don't want to out myself.

Colliefeatures · 06/03/2016 07:59

A NSD here. Am popping into Boots to buy nail polish or a new lippy. Fed up of all my make up being Wintery colours. Need something for Spring! But I'll spend my points and not cash.

Going to list a load of stuff on eBay tonight. Goal is to make £40. Grin

Ememem84 · 06/03/2016 09:28

knitting I'd love to knit. I can do it. But find I have absolutely no patience with it. I have a scarf on needles which I started 3 years ago. Never finished. Must start up again.

wreck bacon and waffles sounds amazing. With maple syrup??

collie I believe that a nice coral orange is the way forwards for spring.

Should be nsd today. Shopping list to do.

WreckTangled · 06/03/2016 09:30

No em we only had honey HmmGrin

I agree I love coral Smile

Caught up & read the thread from earlier in the week whilst having breakfast in bed! Happy Mother's Day & Flowers to those who are missing their Mums today
DH has officially finished work- 12 weeks of gardening leave before official redundancy starts. He's ok, a bit 'flat' & sad but doing ok. We cancelled our cleaners when we knew he'd be finishing this week so he spent Friday cleaning! Grin & spent another couple of days doing jobs round the house. I think I have to look at this time as him finally having time to do loads of jobs he never has time to do!!
Busy few days at work & busy weekend, we've got enoug food in but DH will need to go to Aldi tomorrow- his face was a picture when I told him! Grin he loves food shopping- but I tend to go as he buys too many lovely treats but not enough to make meals with! Anyway, he really gets the fear at the checkouts in Aldi! This is a man who in rugby plays in the front row of the scrum with no fear & yet a speedy cashier terrifies him!! Will report back & let you know if he survived!
NSD until Friday then £15 on shellac yesterday ( I know I'll have to give this up as we cut expenditure Sad) & £12 on contact lens stuff
Oh! I did spend on Thursday- does a credit voucher count? I've got a voucher for M&S so got a couple of pairs of new school trousers for DS (13) who seems to have grown 6inches since Xmas & is now taller than me! I'm planning on spending the rest of the voucher on nice food when we need a treat & pennies are getting tighter
Not sure what I'm going to do today, nothing planned except steak for dinner tonight, proper chill out day I think

needastrongone · 06/03/2016 10:07

Morning all. Happy Mother's Day. Hope you all have a lovely day.

No such lazy weekend for me (although I wish it were!!!), I am already at snowboarding with DD, then dropping her at training. Then going home to cook for the extended family. Which I am somewhat miffed about, as that was DH's idea.

We trained all day yesterday too, so I am drained today.

£20 on a pizza last night as we got home really late.

Spends today will be the £2 for the coffee I am drinking right now, then I need some place mats, as I don't have enough. I've been meaning to get some more for ages.

Taytocrisps · 06/03/2016 10:27

Happy Mothers Day everyone. I got some nice cards and a book from DH and DD. I've told them (lots of times) that I'd be happy with a home made card and a cuddle/kiss from DD. But I think they feel guilty if they don't buy a present too.

needa I wouldn't be too impressed to be cooking for everyone on your special day. I'd make it clear to DH that you won't be repeating it next year.

CremeEggThief · 06/03/2016 10:42

Happy Mothering Sunday everyone.SmileFlowers

needastrongone · 06/03/2016 10:53

I know Tayto. He's in a bit of a trough at the moment (bi-polar), I'll ride it out until he feels better and then explain it wasn't fair...

needastrongone · 06/03/2016 11:03

So, might as well menu plan while I am here...

Monday

Chilli with nachos.
Smoked mackerel and leek risotto.
Veggie shepherds pie or chilli.
Frittata and sweet potato wedges.
Fish (yet to decide how).
Chicken tagine.
Hearty chorizo and bean soup, crusty bread.

Plus, to try 2 new recipes from my stack of recipe books.

Ememem84 · 06/03/2016 11:41

So much for my busy day. Have spent the last few hours drinking tea and watching bones.

No Mother's Day plans for us as mil is away and only wants us to celebrate "her" Mother's Day ie the NZ one. Which is in about 2 months. And my mum is also away still haven't bought her anything will do that tomorrow bad daughter

Dh wants us both to go and drill holes in the BBQ. Not entirely sure why I have to assist with this. It's a small BBQ we just use for the beach.

lilacclery · 06/03/2016 11:47

App is trying and failing to post my long post!
Littlewoods offered me two codes lately 20% off or €15 off €50. I've bought only essentials.
Swimsuit for dd she's growing so fast! Swimsuit for me have ordered 2 one will be returned - mine is years old faded & worn but newest problem is it went in dryer & is super tight nowGrin
5 school tshirts for dd hers are gone very grubby from washing. Will put 3 away for sept.

€27.60 from joint account for dd things & mine will either be €24 or €27.20. I'm on the fence as to whether this is a joint expense as I only get to pool with dc for their lessonsSmile maybe half mine/half joint account?

lilacclery · 06/03/2016 11:50

Here's my other post
Happy Mother's Day to one & all.
Girlie 0% total yogurt the plain one is lovely with some fruit and has no sugar

I would be relatively free from refined sugar but not consciously. I eat healthily.

Past two days I didn't use any Yums from my slimming plan so no extras this is some of what I had. Also had slimming world taco fries, salmon salad & porridge

lilacclery · 06/03/2016 11:57

need what beans do you use in chorizo & bean soup? It sounds good. Won't be on menu this week as last of chorizo was used on pizza by dd yesterday😛

Really pared back shopping this week & have €7 odd left, forgot cat nuts so will get them & 2 more 2l milk i think

fuzzpig · 06/03/2016 12:24

A little scared to ask what 'cat nuts' are. I'm not googling...

Mini I'm glad you are seeing the positives of your DH being off work. I am trying to do that too. So excited at the prospect of having the time and energy to actually sort the house. Normally even though I can do a bit on Sundays (often DH's only day off) I still have to take it extra easy because I know that DH will then be back to work the next day, and if I overdo things I will be incapable of getting through that.

I hope everyone has a lovely day, and that for those of you who find MD difficult it is a peaceful day Thanks

WreckTangled · 06/03/2016 12:25

The BMW is horrible! I feel like I should have my music pumping and be smoking a spliff Grin

fuzzpig · 06/03/2016 12:31

What a problem to have Wreck :o still won't be long before you have your new one will it?
