NSD today
Dh went diving today so since I was up at 7 am too I got an early start on some more laundry, 2 loads in the washing machine and dd (9) got her first lesson in handwashing while she helped with ballet costumes (8 sets of tops and skirts) Smile
spotty the kit looks great, I bought a magazine with silicone moulds about 4 years ago and it's now a family tradition to make one at Christmas, dc love helping and I guess sugar rush is part of the holiday season Grin
Still have lot of eggs from our girls so we shall be doing some baking again today
welcome scruffy

Lovetoknit · 18/10/2015 11:29

We made this one nearly 2 years ago, I think it took dc about a week to eat it all Grin

Made beef stew in slow cooker.

Had an unexpected day at home as dh took both sets of car keys away, an hour from home. He won't be back till this evening. I'm beyond peed off. Don't understand why I need to remind him about every damn thing. He said it must be because yesterday we were out and as I drove some of the time, he took my keys. Duh.

Another example: We've lived here for 4 years. I still have to remind him about the bins. Sure there are some times I don't, but if I mention it at 10pm or something, usually there's a 'oh shit' reaction and a quick scramble out of the house to get bins out.

Have tidied up kids cupboards and got rid of some old clothes and socks. I need to tackle mine. I can't be arsed... Might do it after lunch. Not sure what's for lunch.

bobblypop · 18/10/2015 12:00

morning all

hope doggy is OK. I have had a couple of experiences like that with our ddogs. Must admit though I make them sleep in the kitchen , so at least the floor is moppable!

love that house is fab! ours always end up very wonky!

very quiet here as only 3 dc at home!
going to bake today - biscuits, bread, victoria sponge and maybe fudge,
also want to get started on mince pies but don't have freezer space right now.

need to have a very low spend week this week. 10 days till pay day, but accounts looking better than usual by this point in the month, thanks to me not being a payday millionaire and spending loads in first couple of days for once!

I'm trying to work out best way to pay off credit cards - gets very depressing whenever I look at this - but going to stick to a plan and get them cleared.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2015 12:03

NK that's so annoying! I've had similar with dh so I feel your pain.

Love that's amazing. I will post a pic but it won't be v good! We're doing the Christmas tree and it will def be wonky!

That's great, ipsos. We love good news here.

Welcome to Scruffy.

Hope your dog feels better, Babs and you have a quiet day, after your middle-of-the-night clean.

Girlie, 17 is too low for me, personally. I have it on 19 or 20.

Our heating hasn't gone on yet. I'm determined not to use it until December. We are south facing Windows all fully double glazed. And a first floor flat. So get the heat from above and below.

We've just out our winter duvet on the bed though. So cosy last night.

Am set to make £30 from eBay today. Yippee!

Am spending the day studying. So nsd.

Have already done two loads of washing and have tested all my pens. working hard

annatha · 18/10/2015 14:13

Hoping for a nsd here. I've got £28 coming from eBay today too, hopefully a little more as there's a fair few watchers on my items.

Speaking of eBay, they messaged me today with another offer- if you list between now and the 22nd they'll match whatever you make with a voxuher up to £30, so worth checking if you've got things to sell.

ifonly4 · 18/10/2015 15:29

Just been double checking our finances. Negatives - £2 odd in my account, £3 odd in joint account until 31 Oct. Positives - £25 cash in house, our two credit card payments for next month will be low for us (so won't have to worry about making ends meet towards end of November) and have some Tesco vouchers which am going to use for a day out and meal out in school holidays.

needastrongone · 18/10/2015 15:48

Meal plan for a next week or so. I have tons of food in, so any shopping will be for milk and sandwich type stuff only.

Monday - SC beef and butternut squash casserole.
Tuesday - Leek and chicken risotto
Wednesday - Soup
Thursday - cauliflower cheese, bacon, pasta bake, salad.
Friday - Creamy chicken, roasted new potatoes and veggies.
Saturday - Sausage and bean casserole.
Sunday - Lemon/orange salmon, sweet potato wedges
Monday - Lasagne
Tuesday - Chorizo and roasted veg lasagne, salad

Cleared out the garage freezer and I do have tons of stuff to use. Batch cooking really doesn't work for me, the only thing I defrost is veg that I have blanched and stock [stock]

needastrongone · 18/10/2015 15:49

I meant Smile

Ememem84 · 18/10/2015 15:52

£46 made selling on eBay.

And popped into see parents who are off to uk tomorrow. Have been given a huge bag of veg and milk - all things left in their fridge. Probably about £20 worth of stuff. Yippee!!

Girlfriend36 · 18/10/2015 16:01

Thanks for the ddog wishes. Have scrubbed the carpet 4 times. Dh is putting together a vax (£90) if that doesn't work the carpets are coming up and I'm off to ikea for cheap rugs.
£59 at vets. Either his meds or the bin raiding he did Friday. He's a rescue dog and always been a scrounger. 16 years old and will never change.

£15 in lidl. Their November news has a £5 off voucher £40 spend valid 24/10-1\11
£55 in aldi.
£15 in the range
Frugal win took ds to the skate park but it was too busy with big kids and youfs so we only stayed less than 5 mins. They refunded my money with me asking £3

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2015 16:16

Oh emem twinings early grey is £4.49 for 100 in tesco

TheOnlyPink · 18/10/2015 16:25

Spent €11 in tesco on top up shop. I usually shop on Mondays, and never make it to the following Monday. Always have to get milk, fruit, ham bread on Sundays for the Monday packed lunches. Tried so hard to have stuff in the freezer etc, but it just never works. So for the next pay month, I'm going to have a top up shop budget and just give in to it.
Ds 2 (3yr old) is unwell, throwing up. Not sure if he got some gluten, has a bug or has tonsilitis. Washing machine on overtime!

Ememem84 · 18/10/2015 16:30

spotty thanks for that. We have "tesco" here but it's their stuff sold in a local store. So it's about the same price (give or take 20p)

am hoping parents find a super deal somewhere. Otherwise I'll have to buy from Amazon.

Collieputthekettleon · 18/10/2015 16:36

Just sat down with a Twinings Earl Grey! It's been a hard day due to some shite news. But that's life!

NSD.

babsmam · 18/10/2015 16:52

O no collie, sounds like you deserve your tea

Pointlessfan · 18/10/2015 16:59

Loving the gingerbread house!
sandgrown I suggested that DH returned the tea towel and he looked so hurt I let him give it to my mum! He was very proud of himself for remembering to go to the shop at all!
Cleared out freezer and have a whole drawer ready to start filling with Xmas goodies. Defrosting caused a slight flood so we ended up hot washing a lot of towels and spending a pound on kitchen roll!
Next week I'm hoping to stretch out some spag bol for 4 meals, reckon I can do it?
