Ipsos that sounds cathartic getting rid of the baby stuff, i only have the one dd and think there is lots of plusses to having an only, including having more money to spend on them!

So been into town, spends;

£2.70 parking
£5 in New Look on a skirt in the sale.
£3.50 ish on posting some parcels
£17 in Superdrug, ended up buying two Disney dvds as they were on offer buy one get one free so got Big Hero 6 and Beauty and the Beast for £13.99 (not bad for Disney) and also some new razors and wash things. The DVDs are in the christmas box for dd.
£9 on lunch, met a good friend for a rare child free lunch and catch up.

No other spends planned.

I get on well with the injection once it finally settled. Also use own brand tampons.

NK I've been a few times what do you want to know? There isn't much around it how old are your dc?

Can I join? Money is quite tight, but we still manage a few treats. I'm focussed at keeping spending low at the moment as I'm determined to get some curtains for our bedroom - present ones came from our old house 18 months ago and are 8" above window cill). With this in mind, car tyre has a slow puncture so will need replacing sometime as well.

Aim this week is to spend no more than £50 on food (won't hold my breath on that one) and I'm going out on Friday so no more than £15 then!

Just come back from Lidl and have spent £5.93 on milk, ham, lettuce, peppers, carrots, bread and fruit.

Talking of tampons, I use Tescos own non applicator ones which work out 4p each, which I reckon is pretty cheap.

Girlfriend36, I haven't started xmas shopping yet, but am thinking of getting a few things as and when I see them.

spotty I'm in shock with you getting pregnant on coil, did you complain? Obviously I know you wouldn't be without ds, but still

I'm undecided between boxing up dd & ds too small clothes & keeping for my dsd's son and future children or just getting rid of it all to charity shop & facebook sites. Putting highchair and buggies on fb during next week as I'm away at my parents this weekend so won't be around to meet people to sell.

I am really knackered today but resisting the urge for a takeaway. Got some mystery bag out of the freezer... really should've labelled everything! :o

I've been waiting for a new thread so that I can join you. We have a decent income but but quite a bit of frittering goes on, which I need to curb.

I read somewhere (on here possibly) that instead of looking to save £100 on something, look for 10 ways to save £10. That struck a chord as I've become guilty of disregarding small economies in favour of bigger ones.

So today I've started by changing to a cheaper energy tariff and cancelling a random direct debit. I also need to be more careful with my mobile data as I tend to run out part way through the month and end up topping up. Instead of internet browsing when I am on the train etc, I shall get into the habit of reading a book.

NSD so far. Just need to post off DS's old broken phone to we.buyany phone.com, but it's free postage. I got £2, which is better than nothing, considering it's completely broken.

Well done for resisting the urge for a takeaway and checking the freezer, Fuzz. Our dinner is from the freezer too; my last homemade meal in there, so must do a bit of batch cooking after my shopping delivery comes.

No lilac there's always a chance and it's a bit of a miracle as 1, the coil makes the wall lining so thin the egg doesn't usually implant 2, the chance of ectopic pregnancy is very high and 3, once they removed the coil I had an even greater chance of miscarriage. We were planning a second anyway just not so soon. The Dr said my name will stay in her mind forever as its the only one she's ever fitted that's failed!

Ipsos I am so pleased for you, full lofts are a fire risk anyway and a properly insulated loft makes the house so cosy. I never realised how cosy till we moved here.

The last house we rented before buying had only 4" of lagging, then boards to store the ll collection of CRTv sets. I still wonder why he was keeping so many of them.

Nsd yesterday and today im hoping to keep it going for the rest of the week.Still not looking good for hubby finding another job but there will be over 200 people made redundant from his firm so there will be a lot of competition for any jobs that do come up.We still don't know when exactly he will be made redundant the rumour was christmas but now it is march which will buy us a bit more time but the road ahead is looking very rocky ??

ipsos so great to clear all that stuff away! I really need to do mine, but want to get a skip! I've clothes sorted, it's all things like old toys, which the charity shops won't take anymore, and they aren't worth much to sell. And don't bow to the social pressures! Your uterus, your choice!

Feeling very down today, had pnd after ds2, and had been doing well for a long time. Worried that it's all coming back. Trying to tell myself that everyone has down days and it doesn't mean anything.
Making dinner feels like so much effort. Going to have to cone up with a plan b. Really going to try and avoid takeaway, we cannot afford it!

theonlypink I saw a sign in argos where they give you a €5 voucher for old toys, not sure of the t & c though. Some toys sell great on facebook around here if they're in good nick, maybe some would sell for you.

A down day does not mean your pnd is back, the weather has changed and everyone feels a bit muggy when that happens, there's a bit of a lull between back to school and midterm and christmas fuss too.

Hi all - newbie here. Currently not making ends meet. Have drastically cut spending over the last week but will be good to keep things on track. Organisation is my downfall - forgot to make packed lunch so bought £3.29 boots lunch. Am currently telling myself every penny I spend is a penny out of the (non existent) pot for Christmas which is working!

I am a veteran of depression but I still find that the weather affects it too. It's a ridiculously confusing season this year - terribly British of me to go on about the bloody weather but really, it's been so unpredictable and it's doing my head in not knowing if it's going to be sunny or freezing!

Anyway, it might just be a crap day Pink but promise you'll keep an eye on it and there's nothing wrong with asking for help if you find you need it.

I won't have a takeaway if you won't :)

I really need to get on with selling a few bits on FB. One of the many things I should really be getting on with. I have a couple of work deadlines in the next couple of weeks (one of which will bring some money in very soon) but after that I absolutely have to get my arse in gear or we will have yet another chaotic Christmas. Sigh.

Spends today £26.84 on Amazon - new Bobble bottle as I lost mine , foody chopper thingy and an Xmas gift for DD.

Shouldn't be anything else although wouldn't blame DH for getting the bus home in this weather!

I'm glad you think one offspring is a good number. I do feel a great weight off the shoulders now I've got rid of all those clothes. I keep thinking that instead of slogging through another set of baby years, I should pack a suitcase and take dh and ds to Paris on holiday. I think I must do that. Once I've had a few months more sleep maybe.

Interesting to hear about the failed coils. Oddly, every single person I've ever known who had a coil became pregnant with it, and I've actually lost count of how many that is now. I'm not sure they're very effective.

Was a nsd mostly today but we're having our monthly takeaway tonight, and I am ridiculously excited about it! . Cutting down on them makes them better!

Hey everyone! Nearly missed you. I can't remember whether I did my October goals. So here they are again:

October goals:

End month in credit
Save at least 1/2 of CHB when it comes in on 19th
Spend no more than £30/week on top up shops (I've done my big ASDA and Aldi shop this month)
Utilise freezer
Use my slow cooker at least twice a week

We had freezer meal last night and probably will tonight as DD is poorly bless her. Sore throat and she's having trouble going to the toilet. DP took her to be doctors who prescribed laxatives. But he's now lost prescription he has about 20 minutes to find it until he's in trouble.

Thanks spotty ! I've booked a package for 4 of us, staying over a night and buy one get one day free tickets. Hope it's worth it. The kids are 7 and 5. I think this is the last time we can do it!

The deals for staying over are really good. When are you going? Which hotel are you staying at?

Took lunch to work today (soup) and found a Diet Coke in my drawer. Yay!

Am trying to be as frugal as I can be. So no more money out of the bank until next week.

Belated birthday voucher arrived too. So have £20 to spend on Amazon.
