SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2015 17:06

Dh has a sore throat. Ffs you'd think he was in labour. He's miserable and got a right face on him. As someone with more than one chronic illnesses it really annoys me!

Ememem84 · 18/10/2015 17:39

collie I only have waitrose earl grey first world problem so enjoy your tea!

Study finished. Dh is baking bread (smells amazing). Leftover chilli for dinner and I'm enjoying a glass of red.

Watching the aus Scotland game. Come on Scotland!!!!

babsmam · 18/10/2015 18:16

It's not looking good.carpet cleaned 4 times by hand, once with a vax thingy and a full spray bottle of odour neutralise spray. Still stinks. Sad fingers crossed for better when dry.I bough extra bicarbonate in aldi so.that will go on tomorrow. (already had 1.5 tubs today)

annatha · 18/10/2015 18:17

Frugal win- missed out on a winter sleeping bag for dd for £10 as someone outbid me in the last second. An hour later I won one for £2.77 Grin its more of a unisex design too so ds won't have to sleep in a pink sleeping bag except in summer as I didn't know what I was having when I bought the 1 tog one hoping to grab another for a fiver or so later so we've got a spare one. Poor things been in her summer bag until now and its 17 degrees in her room right now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/10/2015 18:28

Babs Have you tried biological washing powder/liquid? obviously not suitable for high wool carpets.

NK5BM3 · 18/10/2015 18:36

ipsos what sort of writing is that on the website? Dh has a website for his work and probably needs work on it. What do you write??

babsmam · 18/10/2015 18:37

It's a high wool carpet fluffy. Tbf it owes us nothing as it's 12 years old. I just didn't want to change it yet.

needastrongone · 18/10/2015 18:37

ana I have just listed some clothes on Ebay, already had a bid on an All Saints top, which I have clearly priced too low. The bid came in about 3 minutes!

spotty Men generally don't do great with illness do they?!

pointless I always find that wraps stretch out bolognaise pretty well, especially if you offer salad and cheese and salsa too.

Hope you are ok collie

Moroccan pork smells lovely, serving it will spicy sweet potato wedges, green beans and cous cous.

needastrongone · 18/10/2015 18:40

Ha - I have 15 watchers already, so have definitely priced too low. I am not fussed, the top is at least 8 years old and I have worn it twice. It's very pretty though, and still looks very current, so will sell.

bobblypop · 18/10/2015 18:41

evening all

mostly a day of laundry, cooking and baking!

Peanut butter cookies, bread and fudge all made. Roast gammon for dinner followed by slow cooker self saucing chocolate pudding and custard. Now I'm stuffed!

ds2 and dd4 home from cub camp, both exhausted and vv grumpy! Baths and bedtimes to follow shortly....

need haha somebody will be happy with their bargain top then! I find pricing a bit of a minefield on eBay. I've just sold two pairs of Next maternity jeans for £8 each. I paid £30 a pair for them and one pair was worn once, the other maybe 2 or three times. They don't fit anymore though and I'm done having babies for now so its £16 and a bit of space in my wardrobe.

Car buyer who didn't turn up yesterday morning said he's coming this morning... And didn't. Apparently he's coming tomorrow morning Hmm if he wasn't the only person interested I'd lay into him for being so rude but we need the cash.

574ejones · 18/10/2015 19:13

Back from my hols. Did catch up on most of the thread whilst I was away can't keep away. One week to payday and am really needing it!

Ipsos go for it!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2015 19:17

Yes meant to say ipsos sounds great Smile

Well we made a gingerbread Christmas tree and I'm very embarrassed by our lack of talent. Dd decorated Blush

Pointlessfan · 18/10/2015 19:36

Good idea need, I was also going to make some into lasagne.
babs could you try claiming off the insurance for the carpet?

blueteapot · 18/10/2015 19:53

I need a gingerbread house! Wish I bought the gingerbread xmas tree decorations i saw last time in ikea :( did note with interest that the soft gingebread hearts with chocolate and a jam filling were out in lidl... next week maybe? :D

Thanks (need I think it was, cant scroll back on phone!) for the life ins info. Maybe not worth changing then. When DH hits target weight I might re-compare :)

We were naughty and hopped over the border for a lovely run to the beach and sunday lunch - €48. Then €10 in Aldi as it was on the way back and we dont have them in the north, got a lot for my €10 and DS got some chocolate 'moons' (aka buttons) so everyone happy. Should have made lunch but it was such a lovely sunny october day and they dont happen that often in NI!

Stupid little freezer box compartment decided to defrost itself so I then spent the evening sorting that. Longing for a new tall fridge instead of our old undercounter one but it wouldnt make sense as the undercounter one works grand, so it lives another day.

Mm beer festival.

babsmam · 18/10/2015 20:23

Oh gingerbread mmmmmmm. Does it come with everything you need? I normally make ginger cake but the dc would love the house. Where is best.
I have found the insurance and we have accident cover, will ting tomorrow.

Girlfriend36 · 18/10/2015 20:24

Spotty your ginger bread Christmas tree looks good! Love that you have the same selection of oils and vinegars on your counter as me Grin

Pointless yeah can easily do that I reckon, I just top up bolognese with a tin of tomatoes or tomato soup as it goes down. Made a vat of the stuff this afternoon, planning to eat it for tea tonight, tomos and poss tues night as well! Will also have enough to freeze a couple of portions, may turn it into lasagne mon night....

Ipsos sounds like you are doing great on the work, well done Smile

bobby self saucing chocolate pudding?

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2015 20:29

Babs this one did but you had to cut the shapes and bake it. I think the £4 tesco gingerbread house is better as its already cooked. If you're really in to baking you'd probably use your own piping bag and nozzles but not me Xmas Grin

Mostly lidls finest girlie Wink

CremeEggThief · 18/10/2015 20:37

NSD so far, but I will be spending £35-40 on a round trip in a taxi later on, as DS is departing for his school trip to France at midnight and we have no public transport at that time. It never even occurred to me that they'd be leaving at such a stupid time, so no chance to budget for it. Oh well. I'm also giving DS 45 € and £20, but I've budgeted for that. I hope he has a great time.

Midnight?! That's crazy there'll be a lot of tired students tomorrow!

laurentperrier · 18/10/2015 20:41

Mind if I join you? Saving for our wedding at the moment and finding it hard not buying new clothes... its my weakness! Anyone have any tips?

Girlfriend36 · 18/10/2015 20:42

Of course Spotty Wink

CremeEggThief · 18/10/2015 20:44

Welcome laurentperrier Smile.

Spotty, I think they think they might sleep, as it's a hell of a long coach journey from Durham to Dover. I'm not sure they will!
