Thanks creme for new thread too!

spotty we are staying at the Hilton by the Ageas Bowl. Apparently new and had good reviews. The one that's just by the park (some pub) had very mixed reviews but importantly didn't have any positive ones written by people who went with kids. The only alternative to that was the holiday inn or somewhat which I would have been fine with but again the feedback wasn't great particularly with noise on the motorway. I can't sleep with noise.

Bonus is Dh suggested I could possibly book a spa session!!! Wink that's what tipped it for us!!!

£2.59 on happy meal for dd after swim.

Ememem84 · 06/10/2015 18:37

Yum. Happy meal. I could eat that now. Smile

Dh is faffing making a stir fry. It smells delish. But. He's taking forever.

Tonight's chores include more washing. Ironing and sorting more stuff for eBay. Yippee.

Sounds great NK I would have gone with the Hilton too!

I just had a big order in my basket on approved food but didn't bother in the end as I was only buying it for the sake of a bargain. So still a nsd.

Just about to try and transfer our credit card to a new 0% one. Should get £20 through quidco

Laska5772 · 06/10/2015 19:19

Blimey have i really missed TWO whole threads?!!!! Shock .

Well Hi again anyway ( it looks like there are a fair few here who dont know me , though Ive been around a while) .

Am just back from a week in France..and havent even loooked at my October spends yet (nor my bank account ) but it will be ok , I hope as used the (DH's) euro stash whilst away ..

Id better go and look at the damage though now.

Is Everyone OK ?

TheOnlyPink · 06/10/2015 19:21

fuzz thank you so much for your lovely post. I really appreciate it.

Threw some veg, bbq sauce and a tin of tomatoes in a pot, fried up some sausages and buttered some bread. Filled the tummies with minimal effort and stayed out of the take away. Dh brought me home a twirl too Grin
Have a meeting in ds 1 school this evening. Could really do without it, but it's important, so will put on a clean jumper, brush my hair and put a smile on my face.

belle welcome to the thread, thats a good way of looking at things!

binglet hope dd feels better soon and you get that prescription!

CremeEggThief · 06/10/2015 19:26

Marking my place

Lovetoknit · 06/10/2015 19:37

Thanks creme for the new thread
Welcome all the newbies
I agree with you about the weather fuzzpig it definitely doesn't help with ones mood, it feels like we had it all today Sad
Heating is still not on but I shall light the fire again in the living room; dc had pizza tonight so I am just waiting for gingerbread cake to finish baking before I put the pork chops in for the grown ups
electrolux yes you can freeze pesto; put the fresh pesto in a decent Ziploc back, cut a corner of the bag (1/2" size hole) and squeeze like icing into ice cube trays. Freeze the trays and then transfer into freezer bags. So you will be able to take out pesto cubes as and when you need them.

babsmam · 06/10/2015 19:40

There you are!
Will read up in a bit.

Anathana that happens to me when I go to the metro, it just magics money away.
I used to like boots San pro, coil so no need. Aldi p\liners and tampons are OK too.
I need to step away from the bargain thread until I get a proper Christmas plan....

babsmam · 06/10/2015 19:40

Thanks creme

AdoraBell · 06/10/2015 19:59

Thanks for the new thread Creme Thanks

I've also known someone whose coil failed and she fell pregnant.

Welcome To Newbies, everyone is welcomeSmile

Pointlessfan · 06/10/2015 20:04

Welcome back Laska and welcome newcomers! I like the idea to find 10 ways to save £10 instead of trying to save £100.
Pleased to hear you are more upbeat today electrolux your cooking sounds great.
Weekly shop was £69 but that included 3 packs of nappies, loads of baby wipes and a birthday gift for my mum - Jamie Oliver's new book half price, she said she wanted it. They have a lot of recipe books and autobiographies half price in Asda if anyone is interested for Xmas.
My meal plan this week is quite boring but I'm not sleeping very well and I was too tired to think of anything imaginative:
Today cauliflower cheese which was demolished!
Tomorrow jacket potatoes for lunch, slow cook veggie Bolognese for tea.
Thurs - frittata and salad
Fri - lasagne using leftover Bolognese, salad and garlic bread
Sat - falafel wraps
Sun - sausage and mash with veg
Mon - bubble and squeak.
I also bought extra potatoes and leeks to make soup for lunches next week.
Going out to very cheap local social club on Thurs but apart from that hoping I can get to the weekend without spending any more money.

babsmam · 06/10/2015 20:08

Welcome back laska, Hi new people.

Ipsos it's such a sense of achievement having a good clear out. One dc or two, up to you.
Pink hope it's just a bad day. Pnd sucks, be kind to yourself and at least you can recognise if you are feeling it.

babsmam · 06/10/2015 20:08

Nsd

DoublePoints · 06/10/2015 20:12

So as to get into the habit of being accountable, my spending today has been -

Petrol £26. Half a tank which should get me through until payday on the 20th. I might have to review my petrol budget as this car, which I've been using since June, seems to be more juicy than my old one Sad.
Waitrose £16 - I will probably have to work tomorrow evening, so I picked up something for DH and DS to have for dinner. Also some reusable bags for my SIL, who will give me the money back for them. This is the sort of stuff I need to cut back on by being better prepared. The Waitrose is near where my DS trains, so I have got into the habit of popping in for odd bits while I wait for him.

Sorry that people are feeling low but am very impressed with all the resourceful meal planning.

needastrongone · 06/10/2015 20:13

Me checking in too Grin

We were away this weekend and I've been working since then, the house is a tip and I'm full of cold ha ha!

I have spent £1 since Friday, but DH spent about £150 over the weekend, which I am cross about (lots of stuff for the garden, nothing frivolous to be fair), so it's a good job I was so frugal. Plus, there seems to be tons of stuff in the fridge still so saved there.

I'll not pretend to read back, rather keep up from here!

HairsprayQueen · 06/10/2015 20:20

Thanks for new thread, didn't realise the old one was full!

Welcome newbies!

NSD here and DH has gone out for dinner with his dad so I didn't even have to feed him.

I didn't put the heating on in the end other day, every morning I think I feel a bit cold but then it warms up a bit and I'm ok!

AdoraBell · 06/10/2015 20:30

binglet in case he doesn't find the prescripción, we were advised To avoid the following foods for DD2 - apples, carrots, rice and chocolate. Orange juice should help if you can't get the laxativa, and lots of water to drink.

Hope she feels better very soon.

574ejones · 06/10/2015 20:41

You guys are really scaring me with the coil stories now - I definitely don't want any more DC! I think the odds are 1000 to 1 Hmm

NSD and talked my DH out of buying a takeaway for tea.

ipsos · 06/10/2015 20:51

Hi Electrolux no I think it was Fluffy. She also told me which is why I'm emptying the loft to try to insulate it. :-)

Good luck with the meeting Pink. Sorry to hear you'd struggling too. I think I missed that? I may have been in the loft too long. (Oh no!)

LOL about more failed coils. My Mum jokes that coils don't stop pregnancies, and that the next baby just comes out with the coil in its hand.

574ejones · 06/10/2015 21:00

8 in 1000, which must be a fairly good risk obsessed now..

Binglet · 06/10/2015 21:01

Thanks pink and adora.
She's struggled for ages. It seems to be common with all the girls in our family, my nan, mum, sister and niece were all the same. It's just horrible as when she does go it really hurts her. DP is out of the doghouse as he found the prescription and has been out and picked it up.

90p spent today on a cup of tea and my click and collect order of my 25% off Tu leggings is ready so can go tomorrow.

Quick meal plan for week:
Wed: Enchiladas or Fajitas
Thurs: Mozerella and Tomato Spaghetti Bake
Fri: Chicken Curry
Sat: Sausage and Potato Bake
Sun: Sausage Roast
