£54.66 Tesco delivery

Pointlessfan · 08/08/2015 12:29

Had hoped for NSD today but it's such a lovely day I think ice creams may be in order this afternoon!
Spent £20 on a meal out with friends last night which was £5 over what I'd planned for but last time I went out for dinner it came out under budget so I don't feel too bad about it!
Received my £5 high street voucher from Eon today and a £10 Boden voucher which I might put towards a winter coat for DD.
Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine today!

girliefriend · 08/08/2015 13:01

£18 in Lidls, pleased with that.

Some woman managed to hit my car trying to park though Angry she has scrapped the paint on the rear wheel arch, have her details but not sure what best thing to do is? Do I ring my insurance company or should I just get a quote and see if she will pay?

Also bloody Orange have taken another random £11.50 out of my account Confused Angry so annoyed as spoke to a woman last week who told me that my new cheaper DD would start next month and the I should be getting a refund from the one. Not that they would take more bloody money off me, will ring them again obv but it is just another thing to sort out!!

I have about £110 to see me the rest of the month - eek! That said we have plenty of food in, will need petrol in at some point but otherwise planning lots of cheap days, bike rides and picnics etc.

Quick question... Can I freeze mash?!!

Lucie99 · 08/08/2015 13:19

Week two of our new way of budgeting begin today. Week one went well. I spent £77 on groceries for the week and refused to buy more when certain items had run out. This morning I headed to Waitrose and registered for their quick scan machine. I zapped my way round until I reached £70 and headed for the till. I had a £14 off a £70 spend voucher so today's groceries came to £57.05. I have one more of these vouchers to use by 23.8.15 so that will come on handy for next week Smile
Other spends have been carefully noted and I've "saved" money by not buying lunch (for me) in the soft play café and not buying ice cream for me (£1.80 each) on two occasions when I've purchased one for my child. Before this budget I wouldn't have given these items a second thought. I wonder whether this frugal living will have a positive effect on my waist line Grin ?

Lucie99 · 08/08/2015 13:21

Yes you can freeze mash Smile.

Thanks! :) I'm trying to run down the fridge and freezer as we go away on Friday to the land of the Disney for a few days. I will have to buy some chicken mid week as have friends coming over, but that's ok. I'm deliberately not going to the shop to get bread and milk as we still have some left. We shall see how we last. Going to drink uht milk as that's our reserves and we have something like 5 cartons!

Going to beach in a bit. Have a good weekend everyone! Smile

That's crap about Orange girlie, I would be putting something on their FB page.

New potato and egg salad made for lunch, using lots of pepper in the mayo, and adding spring onion and a sprinkling of cheese.

Carrot cake in the oven.

Domestic goddess me!

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2015 16:19

Girlie that's so annoying!! Has she said if she wants to go through insurance?

We were thinking of having a BBQ tomorrow but have decided not to as it would mean spending extra money.

Passthecake30 · 08/08/2015 16:27

Car washed, £10

Tescos - £17, gutted as I got the wrong cheese and it cost £5.50 and I have only just realised...

Kids spent some of their own money in Whsmith, dd got a hello kitty set and one of the pencils leads break every time it gets sharpened and now she wants to go back and complain, it was a regular pencil and now it is about 2" long and doesn't match in the set....would you??

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/08/2015 16:34

£11 petrol.

Id go through insurance for anything car related.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/08/2015 16:46

Happy birthday, Ipsos!

Did a Muscle Foods order today - £76 for a hell of a lot of meat. Hoping it fits in the freezer! It's not coming until Friday so we also went to Lidl and spent £43.

574ejones · 08/08/2015 16:46

Forgot to say earlier, that Lidl had their frozen 3 bird roast (usually £8.99 I think) for £4.99 today. I bought two Blush

girliefriend · 08/08/2015 16:52

Yes will give insurance a ring tomos then, annoying as something else to sort out!

Will ring EE/Orange tomos and if no joy will be leaving them a comment on their fb page - good tip Smile

Had quiet day today, dd complaining of being bored Hmm think she has been a bit spoilt with activities and appears to have forgotten how to occupy herself.

Going to make a spa bol for dinner with salad I think, evening in watching Indiana Jones for us (we know how to live Wink)

girliefriend · 08/08/2015 16:53

haha autocorrect really doesn't like the word 'spag' Grin

babsmam · 08/08/2015 17:46

well we are back in the north east with not too bad a drive up.

just put in a £70 Sainsbury's order for tomorrow and spent £15 on a takeaway.

im going to reconcile everything and get back on the band wagon when i get sorted.

Pointlessfan · 08/08/2015 17:50

That sounds like an unusual birthday treat, ipsos.
Just bought ice creams today. Planning to go to Ikea tomorrow but we have a gift card for £150 so I can't imagine we'll spend much actual money, if any. Does anyone know if their trolleys have a child seat in? Hoping to leave the push chair at home to make space in the boot.

babsmam · 08/08/2015 18:26

just catching up - collie the M5 north was fine as we passed this morning. The m5 south however look awful. although you may not read this now as you were going today - oops. Golfs are great i have loved all my VWs.

Happy birthday Ipsos.

Girlie can i join the hug and happy frugalversiry. pleased you had a good holiday.

Hi lots of new people.

sorry about the car pass. Hate paying out loads for them but they are necessary evils at times.

Audit - my DH always worries me when out on the bike. As you say he is a big boy now but the fall out from his family may not be pretty.

Looking at the tote site now as have camping later in the holidays x2.

Well done everyone who is managing some frugalness in the holidays - hats off to you and for the rest of s tomorrow is another day.

Sainsbo 25% off clothes apparently starts on the 18th

sorry if i have missed anything or anyone.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2015 18:36

Only spend today was the food shopping. I got a bit burnt Blush only a small bit though. The dc played outside loads we put their slide into the paddling pool.

ItsAll · 08/08/2015 19:06

I think we've had a NSD. I find that not going to the shops helps Grin.

Whatabout · 08/08/2015 19:12

£4 on parking at the country park, £1.50 on milk, £5 on screen wash. Not bad for a Saturday!

sweetkitty · 08/08/2015 19:13

Hi can I join in? Been lurking for a while, my finances are in a mess (again) ive got about a few hundred on a credit card and an overdraft need to get back in the black.
