Spendy-ish day here. Went out with some friends to a local farm. £10.95 in with animal food. Took a picnic so saved on spending more. But this was budgeted for as we arranged it a while ago.

Also bought DD some new shoes. She's gone up a whole size in a couple of months and her clarkes first shoes were too small. Spent £30 and got two pairs for that so I'm quite chuffed. Her pair from eBay arrived today too for nursery. Second hand but I think they must have been worn a handful of times. They still smell new shoey! So really chuffed with her new shoe collection! DP lent me £50 anyway to pay for them all so in essence it wasn't my money spent. Frugal Win!!

Myturnnow4 · 07/08/2015 19:23

If I don't buy next year's tax disc today will be NSD.

Binglet · 07/08/2015 19:23

As a side, Clarkes online have some shoes in sale, doodles and the like. I got a pair of doodle Velcro strap ones for £12 reduced from £18. Ordered online and collect in store for a fitting. Worth looking at.

oliveobsessed · 07/08/2015 19:45

LSD took DS6 to soft play place with a packup and i had one coffee so £5.75 in total. Had to fill car thought at £60 :-( should do over two weeks (massive 4x4 needed for horses )

AdoraBell · 07/08/2015 20:09

audit I would imagine he can use it afterwards or sell it on ebay. Cycling can be very dangerous in London cant it?.

NSD. I've spent grocery money but it is dh's turn to pay so not my money.

My morrisons order was meant to be £44 and it's £47 so I will complain about that. It's nearly 10% more!.

My takeaway book has been dispatched and dh has spent the £30 gift voucher argos gave us for complaining plus he spent enough to get a £5 voucher for me.

AuditAngel · 07/08/2015 21:02

Fluffy the mapin problem will be when his mum finds out. DH's brother died in a motor bike accident, and so did his nephew.

It is a pre-registered bike, he saved 10% on the price and it has 18 miles on it. It has to be kept in the garage, which is bound to cause a row as I have a pile of things to tidy, but have a bad cold and am not doing it tonight.

I have a hectic weekend. Tomorrow I have to nip out early to buy DS a birthday card and cake; DD2 has a party 11-12.30; then need to take DD1 to gave a fitting to take in her bridesmaid dress, and DD2 a fitting for a dancing costume for November; then DH needs to collect his new bike; DD2 has a swimming lesson, DS has his cinema party.

Sunday is my sister's hen do. DH is taking the kids out for lunch on Sunday

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/08/2015 21:10

Oh he is in so much trouble.

AuditAngel · 07/08/2015 21:32

Yeah I know.

The thing is, he could drive into town early, walk to his mum's, gave lunch and nap on her bed, but he won't do it.

Or, he could drive in in the morning, bus home and back to work, but that will take a long time due to traffic.

He could have cycled, but he said he'd need to shower before work. He could o that at his mums, or take soap and a flannel.

Still, he is a big boy, he can take the fall out Grin

girliefriend · 07/08/2015 21:34

We are home!

Spent a mini fortune but had a lovely time Smile

Today spent lots more than meant to, we stopped at the Swannary in Abbotsbury as were passing by, had thought it would be a few quid to look round and was totally shocked at £20 entrance fee Shock however we had a lovely time. We were there a 3.5hours or more so I guess got our moneys worth.

That said had another Shock at the prices in the cafe, £4.15 for a tuna sandwich!! Spent £6.30 ish in the cafe on one sandwich and a cup of tea, used up the rests of the snacks and drinks i had taken with us. Thought that was ridiculously expensive, was still shaking my head in disbelief at the price of a tuna sandwich as we left Grin

Then went onto the beach...
£4 icecreams

£5 on fish n chips (yes we had fish n chips 3 nights in a row Blush) detox starts tomos!

£3 ish on drinks and snacks.

£2 parking.

The rest of this month is going to have to be very frugal Grin oh well we had fun.

What make of breadmaker is it?. I'd use branded flour, I know it's more expensive but I think dh would have liked the bread better if it was made of branded flour.

There's a hugh fearnley whittingstall recipe for bread using half normal (smart price?) flour and half bread flour. It worked really well in my breadmaker.

You could probably find it on google.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/08/2015 07:21

lordstreetlovesbread.wordpress.com/recipes/magic-bread-dough/

HFW magic bread. I used to put it on the rapid white cycle as a loaf.

Passthecake30 · 08/08/2015 07:28

£506 on my carSad. The brakes were squeaking, a wheel was tapping, the bottom was clanging. ...brakes cleaned, new tyre, new brushes. Owch.

Today going to spend £10 on getting it washed and hoovered. ...been doing it with the kids lately and it smells so needs a "proper clean". Also will look in matalan for a beach bag as just discovered mine has a hole in....though I might just sew it. Saving a few quid here and there seems pointless when faced with a whopping unexpected car bill!

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/08/2015 07:54

Happy Birthday Ipsos Cake Flowers

I hope you are being suitably spoilt.

Myturnnow4 · 08/08/2015 09:11

If I can get a space outside the house I'm going to wash and hoover my car rather than taking it to the car wash.

574ejones · 08/08/2015 09:41

Have a great birthday Ipsos!

Went out last night with work: £12 (not quite sure how I managed to spend so little).

Food shop:£61

Need to get some bark clippings today but other than that, no planned spends. My tomatoes are beginning to ripen and I have just planted some radishes.

NK5BM3 · 08/08/2015 09:43

Happy birthday ipsos! ThanksWine

girliefriend · 08/08/2015 10:09

Pass ouch! Cars are a money pit!!

Happy Birthday Ipsos hope you have a lovely day and get throughly spoilt Cake Cake Cake

Today need to do a quick shop in Lidls, will aim to spend £20 ish. Then need to have a look at my account and work out how we are going to get through the rest of the month Grin

By the way I think I am reaching my one year anniversary on the frugal thread! Group hug anyone? Grin

needastrongone · 08/08/2015 10:36

Happy Birthday Ipsos

I'll have a group hug girlie Smile

Should be a low spend weekend. DH has gone off to the football for the day (rare) and has taken £25 from my bag. I need to pop and get some nibbles as DH has invited friends to pop in on their way back from holiday, max spend £10.

I've been out early and walked the dogs as it's hot here. DH did the ironing while I was out, I plan on finishing off my cleaning today (we have a large house, the cleaner is on holiday). Have the study and bedrooms to do. Keep up with the washing and do some baking. And catch up with the finance.

Ouch for the car pass, they are money pits aren't they?

needastrongone · 08/08/2015 10:44

And I slept until 7.30, without even stirring once. I NEVER sleep that late, I feel slightly 'fuzzy' today!

fuzzpig · 08/08/2015 11:07

Many happy returns ipsos hope it's a good'un :)

I just worked out that when we start paying our new CM (got some unspent childcare vouchers from last term that will see us through til mid-October-ish) I will only take home about £100 a month. For a job that exhausts me (I do enjoy it most of the time, but it makes me ill, it's a physical job and even on a good day I'm usually in pain after a shift). Ouch.

fuzzpig · 08/08/2015 11:08

Happy threadiversary girlie! :o I've joined and rejoined so many times I have no idea when mine would have been Blush
