Oops, just spent £41. That was on the Frozen Lego castle linked to above for DD2's birthday in October, a product called butter buds which is butter which has been dehydrated and had the fat removed, plus some fat free thousand
Island dressing from Amazon

peppapissinpig · 11/08/2015 21:16

Oops Frugal fail, £50 on meal out for me and DH ????
DCs on a sleepover and we didn't get a chance to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary last month.

Am a bit Hmm tho as food decidedly average considering price of it.

NK5BM3 · 11/08/2015 21:18

£10 at tesco buying my dad's birthday card and some good supplies. All needed.

Adora - wagamamas. I should have been clearer. What I meant was as an Asian person who knows her Asian food (at least what is Chinese and Japanese) I don't think it is authentic. I know, there are lots of non authentic places around. But because it's a chain, it makes it even worse.

I used to live in Tokyo for 2 years. I also had a Japanese partner for several years and we both cooked Japanese food. Wagamamas is not anything one would get anywhere in Japan.

One could call it fusion I suppose. But it's not that either. They even had a pad Thai there on their menu. What the...?!

Sorry I get v annoyed over such things.

Ah, I see. My late father would never eat either Chinese or Indian food in the UK because he said it bore no resemblance To what he had eaten in China and India. And what my mother did with the ragú recipe he got from an Italian chef doesn't bare thinking about, unfortunatley.

Should be a nsd...we're going to one of dd's school friends, I should take something with me should I? There's nowhere to stop on the way though...

Pointlessfan · 12/08/2015 10:45

Morning everyone! DD is hiding in her tunnel so thought I'd check in quickly. Welcome ursula and thanks for all the cleaning tips. We've been using Fairy liquid in the bathroom for a while, hadn't really occurred to me to use it elsewhere!
Spent £3.88 this morning on milk and dishwasher tablets but that should be it for today. Yesterday I ended up going to Bournville to take DD to the lovely park there and to see the Cadburys owl. I may or may not have visited the Cadbury shop Wink

frugal fail - just got out my light summer/autumn coat and it has three HUGE stains on it, no idea what the stuff is or how it got there, I think it must have been my wee nephew as I left it in my sister's house for a week by accident. It's dry clean only so will take it to cleaners to see if they can fix it, but the coat is cream and the stains are a weird oily grey so not holding out much hope Sad

London was fab and I took cash from my savings acc and stuck to that, so spending was under control, £37 for dinner and then about £15 on drinks, not too bad.

I have work to do from home today but hangover plus nesting syndrome (just moved into a new rental house and want to make it homely) are distracting me.

Pointlessfan · 12/08/2015 10:58

I hope the dry cleaners can fix your coat MissA. They did a great job on a smart dress that I'd got foundation on. It cost £8 which seemed like a lot but much cheaper than a new dress would have been!
Loving the winter thread but it's hot & sunny here today, hard to imagine wrapping up against the elements!

I can't believe this thread is nearly full already Shock we are not even half way through the month!!

So not sure if we are going to Bristol or not as friend left late from London and I don't think will get there till pretty late, I was planning on coming back by 5pm is so will not leave much time. Will see though, have said if she can get to Bristol by 2 we will still go.

Dds sleepover last night was stress free, both girls got on really well and had a nice time.

Have contacted the insurance company re a lady scratching my car last wend but they mentioned i might have to pay an excess?! Confused is that right? Surely if not my fault I shouldn't have to pay anything??

Still need to ring Orange but am procrastinating as it is never a fun experience trying to get through to them!

TheOnlyPink · 12/08/2015 12:51

collie I feel the same about the meal plan. But we have nothing left, using the last of the freezer food for dinner! Need to get the finger out and plan.

miss A fingers crossed for your coat! Hope they can tell you if it can be fixed before you have to fork out anything!

Last day of dh being away. Can't wait, the kids are all over the place. They never wake up at night, but the past 2 nights they've both been up for ages. Getting about 4 hours sleep a night since he's been away. not used to it, 4 hours used to be a treat with ds 2 this time last year!
Heading to soft play today. I'm too tired to do much else! Pity as the weather is really good. And a frugal fail!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 12/08/2015 12:53

collie I bet it is banana! He loves banana, the little beast.

CremeEggThief · 12/08/2015 13:33

Girlie, de-lurking to say the same. I can't keep up any more!

Lovetoknit · 12/08/2015 13:48

Finally managed to get back in after it wouldn't open properly yesterday.
LSD yesterday, had to buy some petrol for the new lawnmower. Really glad we bought it as we use the grass cuttings in the chicken run which was muddy again after all the rain we had.
Hope we finally get some sunshine so we can put the tent up for the dc like we promised.
Frugal win this week is the Ecover oven and hob cleaner I got from Trago for £1.45 - perfect for the gas hob on my range cooker and smells nice too.
I shall let you know if it works on the oven too.
collie I don't like doing the meal plan either, lately it feels like we are eating the same dishes every week, but it feels like I don't have any choice with my dc. My parents used to be very firm with us and it was always "eat or starve" and I used to hate it especially since it was always my step dad's choice of dinner

Whatabout · 12/08/2015 14:00

I've spent £18 today without moving off the sofa. I've bought a cover for my iPad so DS1 can be using it a bit more. I bought some reusable toasta bags, these were fairly economical and much cheaper than buying a sandwich maker. £4 DH spent on a top up shop, not too bad.

I found £4 in the washing machine so DS1 might get cake after his hospital appointment, hoping as it is in the community I won't have to pay for parking!

Myturnnow4 · 12/08/2015 14:29

Flowers for Fruglees going through tough times.

Flowers also for the Clean My Space and carrot and kidney bean burger tips.

Flowers also to Kwik Fit for finally sending me my £700 refund and £50 goodwill gesture. Hard times here in terms of going through my separation, and spent most of the morning crying, so have just splashed out on a secret two-day getaway next week.
