Welcome kitty nice to have another new comer, you will get lots of support and good advice here.

TheOnlyPink · 08/08/2015 20:15

Goodness, miss a day and you miss loads!

sweet kitty welcome! Make yourself at home!

Had a no spend day today, much needed after dh being off all week. But was just looking through the bank accounts, should actually end the month with about €100 after all bills. We haven't ever had that much left over, so I'm going to try really hard to keep it there, still 12 days to payday tho! We go into overdraft every month. It's usually about €70 a month and gets paid from the next month's wages, but charged €10 for each direct debit it paid.
Usually shop on a Monday, but have enough food in until Thursday. Need fresh milk and bread but nothing else. Not going to have a tesco delivery just cos it's Monday!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

£15 at morrisons as went past to pick up dry cleaning and because it was late (7pm) I needed to get food for kids and us.

oliveobsessed · 08/08/2015 21:13

Not a bad saturday:
Ocado: £40.22
Tesco: £8.82
Lunch with a friend: £9
Butchers: £6

fuzzpig · 08/08/2015 22:16

Bit late to the party but I've frozen mash and it works really well :) do it with sweet potato too (DS only likes 'orange mash' DD only likes 'white mash' so doing both fresh is a PITA!)

fuzzpig · 08/08/2015 23:04

Hmm, tenner (so 20%!) over food budget this week. Did include £6 on frozen salmon fillets though. Darn it ohhelp now I wish I had ordered that warburtons fruit loaf! I'm not normally one for that sort of thing but that one is lovely!

Lovely friends took me out for some desperately needed child-free time and insisted on paying for dinner. Thanks Feel much better for it as I've barely been out of the house over the last few weeks!

Lovetoknit · 08/08/2015 23:21

Happy birthday ipsos
NSD today as we stayed at home
Dh's friend has been in nearly all day putting in new double glazed windows instead of the old sash ones. Made homemade pizza and tear and share bread for lunch and bbq for dinner.
Dc have been great today, really helpful and didn't complain at all about staying at home. Hope it's same sunny day tomorrow so we can have some fun at the beach.

AuditAngel · 09/08/2015 00:39

£53 in Tesco for a top up shop. DS's birthday cake, small gift £3 for DD2 to take to joint party (bought boys present already) plus lots of fruit plus eggs for Slimming world diet.

Took DS's friends to cinema tonight. 2 of the boys had money for their own snacks, one had forgotten his money, so gave him and the friend £5 each, friend bought drink, DS bought drink plus water as said he's been really thirsty. Both gave me change, but I dipsn't count it. Water and popcorn (naughty) for me £6.30. I had bought 4 bags of sweets and shared them into bags for the 4 boys to share at the cinema.

Tomorrow (sister's hen do ) will be expensive.

I'm pleased your insurance will cover it ipsos.
Realised last night that we have so many odd bits in the fridge that I need redo my meal plan for this week. Luckily I haven't been shopping yet, I might not have to!

SpottyTeacakes · 09/08/2015 07:11

Our drain gets blocked too. It smells vile. Dh has to clear it out every so often, rather him than me!

Meal plan for the week:

Pulled pork with crusty rolls
Micro curry (had last night to curb take away cravings)
Bacon risotto
Sausage roast
Escalopes with veg rice
Brinner
Friday afternoon my sister and bil are coming round, we don't see them often as they live in Bath, so we will have (shop bought) pizza.

Should be nsd, going to be another hot day Smile

ItsAll · 09/08/2015 07:12

Spotty, what's brinner?

Pointlessfan · 09/08/2015 07:22

It's when you have breakfast for dinner - like brunch but in the evening. My sister does it a lot.

ItsAll · 09/08/2015 07:26

Oh Grin, thanks.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/08/2015 07:29

Yep cooked breakfast for dinner. Mmmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/08/2015 07:30

Love I bet you can tell the difference with the windows even now. Your home will be toasty when winter arrives.

What on earth is blocking all these drains? only water and ahem waste solids go down them.

I am going to buy a new bra today. I've been procrastinating for two months but I am going to do it today.

Evilwater · 09/08/2015 07:32

Just checking in,
Ive had a mostly NSD week. The only exceptions are last Sunday (£10) Friday(£10) and today.
Today we are off to the kids cinema.

But on Friday my lawn over broke :( and the landladys bathroom fan broke :(
I've got an appointment with the bank on Tuesday about the mortgage. Fingers crossed. I miss being in my own home.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/08/2015 07:32

Ours is just from the washing up, all the small food bits, we need to get one of those plugs that catches it all.

I'm desperate for a new bra but just can't justify it.

You wash up? no wonder your electric bill is so high. That's costing you a fortune in water and electric plus you have lupus.

No wonder you're so tired washing up everything for 4 people.

I washed up for the first 6 years I was with dh, he used to say "well washing up is no bother is it?" as I trudged into the kitchen to spend half an hour washing everything. It was a hateful job but we rented and the kitchen had no room for a dw so I went on strike. Dh lasted two nights before conceding that washing up was indeed a hateful job and we bought a dw and tacked it onto the washing machines water supply/drain and it poked out at the end of all the units. Bit unsightly but it made a big difference to my back pain (whiplash 3 times in 4 years) and the bills fell massively.

We are going to get you a dw spotty. I'd have given you the one that came with this house if I'd known you needed one.

Good luck with the mortgage evil, use a broker if the bank let you down.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/08/2015 07:54

Haha thanks fluffy. I do only wash up once a day (after lunch). Dh does the rest Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/08/2015 08:19

Bosch £249 incl del

£349 but it has adjustable racks Useful if you have tall glasses.

Pick a cupboard/drawers near the sink or the washer. Empty it and your dh can take the cupboard out and connect it. If you run it off the washers water supply you can get twin connecters and they can run at the same time. It is an easy job.

It would make a massive difference to your health and happiness.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/08/2015 08:24

I know fluffy but we have so many other things we need to buy at the moment I won't be able to persuade him! We've got plenty of room for one right next to the washing machine...

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/08/2015 08:25

Ooh cross posting. You'd make the £249 back in a couple of years in savings on leccy and water.

It would make a difference to your dhs health and happiness then.

I tried to give mil my 2yo top of the range slimline Bosch dw when I moved because they have higher utility bills than us and it was turned down!. I sold it to a young lad dh worked with instead. It had a cutlery tray and everything.

I would choose my dw over the washing machine if I had to.
