Cake - it's the only time I've ever seen it! I'm almost offended by it? I don't know why! I suppose it's because I won't be able to go on the rides :/)

needastrongone · 07/08/2015 13:07

Happy birthday ipsos. Enjoy Flowers

Great frugal win there what

Happy birthday to your DS pink

I have booked my airport parking through topcashback, and also got an amazing price for the airport lounge. Cheaper probably spending on a round of drinks or snacks in the departure lounge. Probably as we are flying from T2 at Manchester rather than T1, but not sure.

Gutted downstairs, made stock, 3 loads of washing, buns in the oven. I like being at home sometimes Grin

Pointlessfan · 07/08/2015 13:28

Happy birthday Ipsos - enjoy yourself, I always stretch mine out for at least a week!
DD's bus trip to town was a big hit but also bloody expensive - £4.40 bus fare (just for me, she is free). We were only there an hour, it would have been £1.90 to park - not sure how that is supposed to encourage public transport use. Also spent £2.60 on a coffee and a toasted tea cake, £6.29 on a quick top up shop and £2 on 2 books in the charity shop - they were two I've wanted to read for a while so I was pleased to find them.
I think it's good that theme parks do pregnant lady rates as you can't go on anything!
Just trying to summon the energy to do my job for the day although I haven't decided what it will be yet. There is so much that needs doing I'm spoiled for choice!

£3.50 toy shop on two water pistols

AuditAngel · 07/08/2015 14:55

I'm feeling very happy with MN at the moment. I have been accepted to do a Cafe Rouge visit, we won tickets to see Aliens love underpants on the local site, for the West end, and we have just been selected to test an audio book.

Took DS to Toysrus, he has decided the bike suggested by Halforpds is the best. It is more than I wanted to spend, so I'll either take any birthday money he gets, or take £50 from his bank account.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/08/2015 15:05

I didn't get the cafe rouge one EnvySad

Laska what did I say to upset you?! It certainly wasn't my intention BlushGrin

It's ok they're outside. I've put powder down and will get dh to rinse it all later. Clouded up here now but still hot. I seem to have ended up with all the dc from the road in my garden Confused

AuditAngel · 07/08/2015 16:23

I bought a present for DD2 to take to a party (Minions jigsaws) £5.99 plus I bought one pack of the Minions tictacs for the kids to share.

Will order the bike later.

DH has bought himself an electric moped today (£899) because the forthcoming rugby World Cup is going to close the road he uses to get to work. He does split shifts and so does 4 trips (2 return trips) a day. Insurance was just over £200. I think he should have used his push bike!

Myturnnow4 · 07/08/2015 16:35

Ipsos, did you deliberately mix the bleach and vinegar? Confused

Today's win: NSD and refund from car insurance.

Today's loss: car keyed.

Very LSD today. Sort of last day of work! Brought dd to pre-school picnic. Packed picnic. She had an ice lolly £1.

Oh paid for dry cleaning £16.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/08/2015 18:44

My new battery is doing well so far! I tend to turn off mobile data when I'm out as I have a low data allowance to save money. I'm on it a lot at home though Blush

needastrongone · 07/08/2015 18:57

Cooking a lovely chicken, bacon, leek and chard risotto. Sat having a glass of wine. I have worked non stop today. Household stuff gets pushed to the back of the queue while the season is in full swing but I have so enjoyed myself today.

I will cook a new potato and hard boiled egg salad for lunch tomorrow, and we are having chargrilled pork escalopes with salad for tea.

I am just mentioning that The Leather Satchel Company is having a flash sale, there are a few styles that are vastly reduced. If anyone is having a birthday, or similar. Plus, they would sell very well on Ebay..... Smile

needastrongone · 07/08/2015 19:03

DD wants me to make sweet potato and squash soup, and I also have a marrow and aubergine to use... so any ideas are welcome!

needastrongone · 07/08/2015 19:03

For the marrow and aubergine, that is.

The sale stuff is on a tiny 'tab' on the top right of the website. There's a lovely classic deep brown satchel for £40, reduced from £138 that I might have bought. Still an investment buy, but significant saving, plus resale value on Ebay
