Thanks :) On both bikes it was that the cable has snapped!

Peppapissinpig · 22/07/2015 11:06

My feet are disgusting, DH says i have the feet of a corpseConfused. One whiff of a flip flop or sandal and my heels instantly harden and crack.

I have some industrial strength foot cream (apparently developed during the Cold War for foot rot!) which does help a bit but they still look rank.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/07/2015 11:24

Double base gel. Twice a day but not in between the toes. Don't rub it in or it it won't work.

Not heard of it Fluffy, can I get it over the counter?

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/07/2015 11:42

Yes, or eBay.

Peppa have you tried flexitol? It's what they give on prescription and all the chiropodists recommend. It's amazing.

SpottyTeacakes · 22/07/2015 11:47

Oh £2.60 parking £43 filling up with petrol.

Dr thinks it's mild lupus and couldn't quite believe the amount of different things I have wrong with me or my family history!

I resisted macdonalds so count that as a frugal win Grin

Well DH went into Evans Cycles and they quoted £45-£60 per bike I'm hoping the indie repair shop at a nearby bike park will be cheaper!

At the moment, DH has taken the brake from the smallest bike (with the broken pedal) and put it on the middle bike, which DS has pretty much grown into anyway. But I really don't want to write off the little bike if there's a chance of making some decent money on it.

The other bike still has its back brake, it's the front which is snapped.

Sigh.

fuzzpig · 22/07/2015 13:29

We use Doublebase too, for DS' eczema :)

TobleroneBoo · 22/07/2015 13:55

Will I like Dhal? Its it as nice as the websites seem to be saying? Just found a Tesco recipe for a coconut one which seems do-able. What do you serve it with?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/07/2015 14:02

You'll like it if you like lentils. Some people don't like the texture. I just serve it with naan Smile

avocadotoast · 22/07/2015 15:56

Dahl is bloody lovely, I find it really comforting Smile I usually just eat it as is, but sometimes rice, or naan, or samosas.

NSD for me except for some petrol! Went to an indoor picnic and took a dinky little packed lunch. Hoping to have low spend rest of the week, although hopefully going out for a few drinks on Saturday.

Peppapissinpig · 22/07/2015 16:48

Aargh, just realised its my nephews 2nd birthday this Sat. Previously gone overboard with presents for family but this year I want to get him something thoughtful and cheap ????.

What could I get him for around £15 (already have him a t shirt) that also wouldn't cost too much to post.

He already has a lot of toys/clothes cos he's got an older sister and a massive wider family.

A toys t us voucher so he can choose something himself. My dc LOVE doing that!

Peppapissinpig · 22/07/2015 16:55

Trouble is Spotty I have previously given him and other family about £30 for birthdays. I'm a bit worried about seeming tight if I send something with a specific value on it that is far less than usual.
Also my DB and SIL are very generous with our presents.

SpottyTeacakes · 22/07/2015 17:19

I'm sure they wouldn't think anything of it!

girliefriend · 22/07/2015 17:53

Hello all spent £22 ish on petrol today, would have been more but realised once I had gone into my space that the normal unleaded petrol was out of order so had to use the supreme unleaded which I think is more expensive? So anyway didn't get too much just in case Grin

No other spends.

Dd has loved her holiday club, come back filthy, tired but smiling everyday. So worth the money Smile

Had a very nice dinner tonight using up stuff in the fridge, I had grilled bacon with avocado, grated carrot and beetroot in a pitta bread. Dd had hot dogs with avocado, beetroot and cucumber. Two clean plates tonight think we were both properly hungry!!

Still got plenty of food so my hope not to do a shop until payday looks achievable.....

girliefriend · 22/07/2015 17:58

Peppa has he got a scooter? You could get him one on Amazon and have it delivered straight to them? Obviously it won't be wrapped though!!

Otherwise I am struggling to think tbh, all the other things I can think of don't post well.... fwiw I think £15 is a lot to spend esp if you have already got him something. Since my db and soil had their 3rd child I have spent less on them for Christmas and bdays - it just gets so expensive!!

Maybe something like a nice set of books? Duplo is always popular but would probably be a pain to post!

girliefriend · 22/07/2015 17:59

sil not soil Blush

SpottyTeacakes · 22/07/2015 18:05

Ds is two and I've got him a car transporter for his birthday. He's going to love it. Btw my sister often sends presents for my dc directly to me and I wrap them.

574ejones · 22/07/2015 18:06

girlie I did that the other day with petrol, however my mpg was much better so not a complete frugal fail!

Collie thanks for the recipe!

NSD today. I'm off on my hols tomorrow and won't have wifi, so will be back in the first week of August. We're self catering so apart from a few treat days out it shouldn't be too much more expensive than bring home.
