Adora how worrying. Glad you'll be here in a few weeks.

Pointlessfan · 23/06/2015 19:45

Adora that sounds awful.
Collie we recently took DD camping for the first time and we were nervous too. I got some good ideas from the camping thread on mn especially to use 2 grobags (Sainsburys cheapo version in our case) to keep her warm at night. She loved being outside and wore herself out so she slept really well all cosy in her grobags while we froze in our 3 season sleeping bags! We are giving her showers now to get her used to it for our next adventure in July!
NSD here today and I'm starting to think about next week's meals. My knee is still very swollen and painful so I want to do an online shop but Asda were so useless last week I might have to splash out on Sainsburys which will also pain me as it'll cost £20 more. Going back to doctor on Thursday as knee seems to be getting worse not better.

kids school fair today, £8 on class photos (x 2), £10 on the bbq and about £8 on rip off stalls (hook a duck for a £1 and get a 10p bag of sweets etc). It all goes towards them so I don't mind so much, after freaking out a couple of times I have simply resigned myself to it 3 times a year....it's not forever!

Thanks to advice re holiday money, so I'll do a combination of cash, prepaid card and emergency cc. I

£60 Clinique, it's the only thing that suits my skin and there was a bonus time that was too tempting to avoid. Oops. It does last for ages though.

AdoraBell · 24/06/2015 03:48

Well done on that cooler Collie Grin

Tomorrow will be another NSD because my car is again off the road due to smog. Hopefuly we'll get some rain next week, forecast shows some for Tuesday but that could change. The problem is we're in a basin and it's been the driest winter since 1968. And they're still burning fossil fuels.

DDs have to go to school for an exam tomorrow and there is another on Friday. DD1 was trying to rant her way to going out tomorrow, friends had plans to go into the cityHmm but knows there's no chance now we have the info for tomorrow.

Fluffy yes, DCs still not allowed inside at break even in these conditions Angry. DH told me it was the same growing up in the UK. He was born in the 50's and one day was coughing badly after school during one of the old pea soupers they used to get. MIL complained about them playing outside and the HM told her the children have to get their fresh air.

I made the mistake of wandering onto the Christmas thread and now have the urge to go to home bargain for toys. Someone slap me. Its only June (although have October birthday to think of)

It's a work thing that I've been working towards for the last 6 months. Sort of like an ofsted - huge costs, huge implications, huge impact on things like ranking, reputation...

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2015 08:37

Good luck NK!

needastrongone · 24/06/2015 09:26

Good luck NK. Hope it goes well.

collie I can't get my head around Christmas now either, and we always go over as DH adores Christmas and feels he should spoil everyone as recompense for being away so much.

Just done a small order from Morrisons, £40. Probably will spend the same in Aldi absolute max this week.

Farrier is coming later which will cost £60.

I tried a Mary Berry recipe last night, roasted sausage and potato supper. Was lovely. It's really not a frugal book like, say, Jack Monroe, but does have some good ideas that are straightforward enough.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2015 10:19

£5 new TV remote

I got the fat face trousers and I love them but I'm sending them back as I don't have any shoes I can wear with them. Our post office closes at 11 on a weds though so will have to wait until tomorrow

Peppapissinpig · 24/06/2015 11:09

£16 on 2 prescription items for DH Shock

sportinguista · 24/06/2015 11:10

Good luck NK hope all goes well!

Won't be NSD but won't be spendy, small Aldi top up and that's it.

Quiet day here as working...

Quiet day today, have been cleaning and washing this morning, so nice being able to hang the washing out Smile going over to a friends for a coffee later. Nsd.

Am counting down the days till payday on Saturday, plan to spend nothing until then Grin

I am also starting to think about Christmas, have already seen some lego sets on offer on Amazon which may get next month.

lilacclery · 24/06/2015 14:12

Yesterday was an nsd today will be & tomorrow too
I've obtained my loan to do my boundary walls & gates. Had choice of topping up my current loan adding on an extra €20 weekly or a separate loan at €40 per week so have chosen the second option as I'm working hard at clearing my first loan & want to see the back of it.

This will be repaid out of joint account but won't put us under extra financial pressure as dd is finished playschool & that cost €65 a week.
