NSD yesterday (I did spend some money but it was work stuff I can claim on expenses). Today will be expensive as someone is coming to fix various things round the house. Might manage a NSD tomorrow.

I need to do a proper spreadsheet and put absolutely everything I spend into it so that I can see where the money's going. This thread is helping, but I'm beginning to see that half the trouble is that I spend without thinking about how the spending fits into the bigger picture, and then get a nasty shock when the bill arrives.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2014 08:09

Tassimo pods

Asda and tesco are doing really good offers on them, better than sains offers.

HearMyRoar · 12/11/2014 08:14

NSD yesterday as DH was out in the evening so I didn't get to do the shopping I had planned. Will hopefully get around to it today.

Poor you MissA! It all sounds pretty crappy right now. I hope you get your results today and they give you a nice easily fixable answer.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 12/11/2014 08:29

Ended up in an ambulance to a and e last night in the most terrible abdo and back pain I can imagine, I actually wanted to die. It took 3 syringes of morphine to get it to a bearable level. It's still bad today.
Finally saw my scan and my consultants apparently all agreed it was a huge twist at lunch when they met but by the evening the surgical consultant changed his mind without speaking to the others and told me it was constipation, sent me home with laxatives and told me to take 6 of them instead of one. This overdose is what caused the pain I'm still in. My other consultant called me and was Shock I was at home she assumed I'd be in hospital getting prepped for surgery and she was really angry he changed his mind against what she, he and the radiologist had agreed earlier. In her opinion it is a very clear twist that needs urgent surgery and she is calling him today to find out what the hell is going on.

Oh dear mrsA sounds horrific! Hope that consultant gets a b*ollocking today and you get sortedFlowers

Submitted meter readings last night and dd has reduced from £100 to £94....probably just due to mild weather.

Dp has complained/commented today that he is assumed to be resident trash bin. Ie....I fancy something (packet of cakes, toblerone, etc), eat one, and he eats the rest so not to waste them. He doesn't want to do this anymore as not good for his waist line. Hmmmm....not sure how I feel about this ....in future if I want a doughnut I just buy one, a tiny toblerone etc - less value for money but I guess less in total and a slimmer man in the mix? Until he starts banging on there is "nothing" to eat

audit what subscriptions cost that much? ?

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2014 09:45

The weather is mild & long may it continue.

You could freeze donuts, you'd need to wrap them really well because freezers are very dry but you could do it. Maybe not with custard filled ones though.

Chocolate keeps for ages in a fridge, have you seen the multipacks of toblerone in the pound shops?.

MissA I don't think you need to worry about that consultant, devising a treatment plan that sees your patient blue lighted to hospital and pumped with morphine to ease the resulting pain will not encourage him to push ahead with his diagnosis. It's farcical isn't it?.

DrewOB · 12/11/2014 10:13

I need to buy lunch today but going to Boots and using points to get a meal deal. Does that count?

lilacclery · 12/11/2014 10:29

audit I really hope dd doesn't take up dancing when I read about all your spends on costumes tights etc

missa I think it's time to pull this consultant aside and get answers. You in extra pain now because of him!

passthecake maybe this is your chance to go cold turkey on the junk food? Chocolate lasts an awful long time though, and dp is an adult he doesn't have to eat them if he doesn't want to!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/11/2014 10:37

MissA that's terrible Shock

Singmetosleepzzz · 12/11/2014 10:39

My god Missa what an absolute nightmare. I really hope you are sorted asap. Complain complain complain to PALS

AdoraBell · 12/11/2014 10:55

Wow MissA that is astonishing! I hope the other consultant overides him and gets you sorted PDQ.

I am laid up with terrible d&v Sad

Gave dd £2.30 for a school dinner but otherwise NSD

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 12/11/2014 17:49

Hi all Smile thanks for your kind outrage on my behalf! The consultant had the cheek to try and say the fact that the laxatives "didn't work" aka... Caused me total agony for hours, is a "good thing" because now we know that constipation is off the table as a cause.
I've been referred away from that hospital to another one, am seeing a top bowel consultant tomorrow at 12.30, he is keen to do the operation to correct the twist the MRI showed in my small bowel. This will be my fourth operation in 11 months, 3rd since mid-August! But if it works then the good news is that the MRI also showed all my other organs are super healthy and I have no visceral fat and everything looks great apart from the dodgy bowel
Have to go into town tomorrow and get bed socks/cozy socks, mulled tea, hot choc and a memory stick for a box of goodies I'm sending someone, the memory stick is going to be preloaded with music and then I'm also going to add a nice. Hand cream from my present box. Can't wait to wrap it all and send it.

You've not eaten properly for weeks, no wonder you have low abdo fat. He's got a brass neck hasn't he?.

Poor you girlie, horrible isn't it?.

99p card
£1 biscuits
£3 sunscreen.

girliefriend · 12/11/2014 18:12

Oh MissA Sad God you have been through the mill, really hope they can sort it for you properly this time.

Yes Fluffy it is grim, had to get my mum to pick dd up from school as didn't want to risk moving more than 6ft from the loo!! She also went to parents evening on my behalf and just rung to say that dd had a glowing report Smile

northender · 12/11/2014 18:17

What a nightmare MissA. I really hope you get it sorted this time.

Passthecake30 · 12/11/2014 18:23

£3.40 on work lunch. ..oops.

Hmm going cold turkey on treats doesn't sound good for me, I like treats, I exercise, eat a balanced diet and am slim... I have no issue with dp not sharing, so long as there is no fuss when I buy one cake or chocolate just for me. ...

MazzleDazzle · 12/11/2014 18:42

Bloody hell MissA what a time of it you've had! Thanks

I've given myself a weekly envelope budget of £150 for food and fuel. I am to buy nothing else! Last week I had £70 left over Grin, which carried over to this week. And it's a bloody good job too as I've spent £120 in the last 3 days!

A top up food shop, hat and gloves for the kids, a pile of second hand books, stationary for a parent support group project. How can that add up to £120?

Anyway, 2 NSD ahead for me!

Ohhelp your bank account set up is really impressive! Is it possible to have more than one current accounts at the same bank?

Singmetosleepzzz · 12/11/2014 19:08

Good luck missa.

2.35 in cafe nero - had a stamped card so coffee was free.

1.20 on parking.

A LSD! really pleased.

MazzleDazzle · 12/11/2014 19:49

Bought Lidl's mature chedder. Complete waste of time. Used most of the kilo pack to make cheese sauce and it was still tasteless! Hence my macaroni was pretty grim yesterday. However, had the left overs today with a jar of tomato and basil sauce mixed through. Much better!

I had a packet of Finest cookies that were fresh, but soft, as they had been left out. Trying to crisp them up in the oven now!

Determined to stop wasting food.

NK5BM3 · 12/11/2014 19:52

MissA. How horrendous. Glad you have an app for tomorrow afternoon, bloody hell.

I spent £20 at sainsburys coz I thought I had to get presents for some guest speakers, but thankfully work stumped up for some stuff, so I have 4 boxes of lovely truffles. Which I will store as emergency presents over Christmas.

AuditAngel · 12/11/2014 20:42

MissA I really hope this sorts you out.

Pass I am a chartered accountant. I have just checked and next year the cost is £963.40. That amount covers my annual subscription (£340), practising certificate (£319), audit faculty (£109), financial reporting faculty (£115), charity special interest group (£86.40). The first two are compulsory for my job, the latter 3 give me access to cheaper courses and restricted information. I will have saved more than the cost of the faculty memberships on half price courses.

£2.50 on a hot chocolate and £2.49 on a sausage butty for breakfast. £48 on diesel, to claim back, plus about £2 on a bag of crisps and a soft drink between my London meetings and a meeting at nursery.

MazzleDazzle · 12/11/2014 20:45

My rebaked biscuits are a sensation! Grin
