Hello everyone just popping back in - I'm not gone just not had time to sit down and catch up. The thread moves so fast. Will post once I have worked out if I'm still on track Grin

RobinEllacott · 13/11/2014 07:32

Yesterday was bad: as well as the man who came to fix the house (£124, but a lot of things that were broken are now working), I went to a coffee shop after dropping DS at school. £11.57 for coffee, orange juice and a croque monsieur Blush. Hoping for NSD today.

Good luck missA - Flowers again!! Smile

NSD yesterday so I am pleased.

Morrisons delivery today for £80 but includes meat (all on offer). Was very low on meat, even though we don't eat it daily by any means at all, I had run my stocks down.

Also veg/fuit/salad delivery from the local market for £30, which will last 2 weeks (apart from salad)

Pony rug £75, but I budgeted for this months ago, it's a winter rug.

collie dog food is expensive too, I reckon it's £40 per month for my two dogs. Excellent quality food I admit, as they are very active dogs who don't keep their weight on, therefore they have working dog food (VAT free).

Going to try the 'cash in envelope' suggestion upthread. I 'allocate' amounts each month from the account, but physical cash is a good idea.

DH has done some lucrative consultancy work that will be very handy if we are paid for it before Christmas (unlikely, but I can dream!!)

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2014 11:56

Hope you're ok MissA Thanks

£7 poundland (3 packs batteries, two advent calendars and two rolls of paper)
£8 school tights in Mothercare, the sainsburys ones I got dd appear to be shit and need to go in the bin already.
£6.80 costa Blush
£4.40 parkingAngry

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2014 11:57

Oh and I just got my updated tax credits after my wages reduced by 150 a month and it's gone down!!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/11/2014 12:59

Just waiting to be seen by new consultant. He seems to be running late.

How has it gone down spotty?

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2014 13:21

I don't know Sad they've given me a one off payment of £40 and it's gone down by £10 a month so I suppose it just hasn't really changed much.

OhForFoxSakeYourPullingMyChain · 13/11/2014 13:29

nsd - hurray!
sounds like everyone else is marching onwards!

DrewOB · 13/11/2014 13:38

Yesterday
£2 Bus
£38 Dress - first time I've bought myself something like that in years. Anyway we went out tonight for the first time in 2 years - theatre to celebrate 6yr anniversary - so I figured it was an appropriate time to treat myself.
£8.50 Leggings and much needed socks - now I can chuck my holey/too small ones!
£1.50 Cola before work [weak willed emoticon]
£1.84 Chocolate [see above] Blush (but I haven't eaten it yet!)
£5 ice cream during interval!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 13/11/2014 16:57

I am part of a group on Facebook called feed your family for £20/wk some good ideas on there but reason why I mention is they have posted an offer from muscle foods for £38 for 5kg chicken breast and 8pks of 400gm lean mince which is fab deal and the company get great reviews and excellent quality meat apparently only downside stopping me ordering is they use bloody yodel to deliver.

Passthecake30 · 13/11/2014 17:45

Apart from travel and parking, a nsd woo hoo! Even went into 3 pound shops and stopped myself buying cheap tatt for the kids.

Thou have a box of 10 bras from bravssimo to try on when I get home.Perhaps just one will fit. ....

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2014 17:48

Passthecake I have bra issues too! None of them seem to be the same size?!

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/11/2014 18:18

East, there was a website by that name, is it the same people? Lots of apple curd?. The website went earlier in the year.

Did anyone get their Orchard ready meal vouchers? There's an offer on.

1 main, one side, one dessert (incl cheese board) & a bottle of naice wine or soft drink for £10. Minus the £3.60 voucher PLUS a 70p voucher if it'll let you, I haven't checked it out yet, & the whole lot will be £5.70.

Cheaper than a night out. Even better if your OH got a voucher to. Only valid till the 18.11.14. I'm going to try it out tomorrow.

£5.66 on cava. I have a cold coming on and it's important to keep fluids up.

574ejones · 13/11/2014 18:29

First day at work and the first NSD in a while.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/11/2014 19:05

So I am being admitted tomorrow to be fed intravenously through a central line into my neck for 7 days. I'm too weak for surgery right now and he's certain that it will come to surgery, so he needs to get me built up. The new consultant says he's seen things like this before and he wants to speak to the appendix surgeon and the surgeon who did the ops in August, to get a really clear picture of what has been done before and why it hasn't worked. He seems to think this is very likely due to something done wrong in my appendectomy because it was an emergency op on NYE, so in his words "done by anyone hanging around in the hospital" Confused
anyway, feeling very overwhelmed at the prospect of central line feeding, but glad someone good is on the case and it looks like I'll get my own room in the hospital and they allow people to visit any time. DH will come after work and on Saturday/Sunday. And I should know more about the surgery plan soon. So basically, be prepared for me to be on the thread a lot as I will probably be very very bored! Grin

MissA at least someone now seems to be taking responsibility, with my admissions during pregnancy, it always seemed no-one was in charge.

Today, just a one day travel card, not sure what that costs, my Oyster tops up automatically, maybe £6? Lunch at the Ritz was divine, we bought viuchers ages ago, went with DH, his cousin, and to avoid wasting the last place, one of the girls who works for DH. DH's cousin paid the bill for the drinks.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2014 19:35

MissA that sounds horrendous but I'm glad you're being looked after.

HearMyRoar · 13/11/2014 19:42

Well that does all sound a bit crappy missA but at least you now seem to have someone with summer idea of what is going on. Hopefully you are now in the right place and heading in the right direction to get sorted. :)

I spent £2.35 on some soup and a packet of crisps today. It was nice soup though.

northender · 13/11/2014 20:20

Sorry to hear that MissA but glad someone is taking control.
Fluffy I took the plunge today and ordered a spin dryer and have arranged for an acquaintance who's an electrician to come round on Monday to look at our kitchen and bathroom spotlights. Dh thinks we need new fittings for LEDs but we want to get it done ASAP. We are channeling our inner Fluffy and trying to minimise how much money we pay our energy supplier Grin

girliefriend · 13/11/2014 20:24

Poor you MissA at least it sounds like they are taking it seriously and it will finally be sorted now.

I have spent the day in bed more or less, spent most of last night throwing up and felt completely wiped out today. Not sure if it was a bug or food poisoning but whatever it was it was pretty grim!!

Had some soup and toast today and so far that seems to of stayed down so am hopeful that the worst is over!

The upside of being ill is that I haven't spent any money and my lovely mum got us some shopping Smile

My dd has a party to go to on Sat for a boy turning 7yo, am tempted to swipe one of the Christmas presents to give him as not sure when I will get to town now.
