@TLDRfuckers yes I've had 4 vaccines, last one was early October 22.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 22/09/2023 10:13

I'm downstairs watching telly on the sofa, it seems such an effort and my clothes hurt, I want to get back into soft nightwear.

Yet people are going to work and sending kids to school with it.

Chaos by Christmas I reckon!

Agree , first time I've had it . Work as a T/A and so many poorly children are brought in . My HT prefers us staff to continue working if we have Covid , ( if we are well enough) .

Eukanuba · 22/09/2023 10:20

It's the stomach pain for me , unrelenting.

Choconuttolata · 22/09/2023 10:46

No it is not a mild cold at all.

I tested positive beginning of September (caught it at work) and only just made it back to work on short shifts this week. Fever, chills, vomiting, body aches, fatigue. Very like a flu. Everyone in the family had it, I kept the kids at home. Loads of people off at work now.

Still miles better than the first infection which put me out of work for a year, I have had Long COVID and some permanent damage due to Covid for nearly 3 years now. DH who was hospitalised with his first infection also has Long Covid. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Jackydaytona · 22/09/2023 13:05

I've tested negative twice in the past 4 days but feel worse today

Food tastes a bit odd, and I'm not really hungry

I'm taking soluble co codamol and throat spray

Ds1 says he feels a bit better today

Utterly fed up

CryingAtTheDiscotheque · 22/09/2023 13:08

My sympathies to all on this thread- I feel your pain (literally).I have sore throat, high temperature, nausea, stomach cramps/shooting pains, dizziness and cannot stay awake. DH all of the above except he has insomnia! It is ghastly and definitely not a "mild cold".

I wonder if this is the new variant, or if it is because the vaccinations have worn off?

This is my fifth time with covid and is the worst so far by a long long way.

Feeling exactly the same, day 3 and bed bound!! Did manage a hot rinse in the shower but my legs gave way and I couldn't cool down for hours. Feeling horrendous!! I've stayed in a separate room to everyone else with the window open as DH has health issues and is vulnerable and i can't imagine watching my young children go through this...miserable as hell over here!! Hope we all get well soon

Jackydaytona · 22/09/2023 13:21

I managed a shower today

But that'll be it

Poormepoorme · 22/09/2023 13:22

Argh, felt a bit better today (day 5) so had a bath… now can’t move again! Soooo tired, but I guess that’s to be expected. And my hair’s falling out! 😳

Also wondering if the vaccines have run out now, I’ve had 3 but haven’t had one for ages (2 years??)

Abeli · 22/09/2023 13:37

Most people won't have had a vaccine for a couple of years.
It does seem like covid is going to keep changing and they have tweaked the formula for the winter 2023 dose.
I've not seen any publicity or news about this varient. I have had covid twice. 2021 which put me in hospital and took 3 months to recover. Then 2022 after 4 vaccine doses which was a mild cold with fatigue lasting 2 or 3 weeks after.
I am immunosuppressed and have had about 7 vaccines, due another one now. I was really unwell after my booster in June and was dreading this next vaccine but it sounds like I should get it soon.

Tarkan · 22/09/2023 14:14

I had my booster yesterday (and my flu jag too) after missing the one during the year because I was ill then and never got around to rebooking it.

I've had some minor side effects today (tiredness, aching arms and sore/cold/hot skin) but they're absolutely nothing like how bad I was with this last round of Covid. Thankfully it was more than two weeks ago or I wouldn't have got my jag and would have had to reschedule. Fingers crossed I'm ok for over the winter now.

Hope everyone who is ill is better soon. Take your time for doing anything physical again if you can, I'm now a few weeks after feeling better and I'm only just now feeling properly back to normal when I'm walking.

Ultimateactionhero · 22/09/2023 15:51

I’m almost 4 weeks on from my covid bout. My stomach is still upset, I still wake feeling achey and heavy headed and the cough is relentless. Really hope it buggers off soon as to be honest I’ve completely had enough of it now. I dread catching it again, I’m sure it’s doing something to our whole immune system and body, im sure repeated bouts of this over many years will lead to shorter lifespans.

Ithh · 22/09/2023 17:21

I still feel as bad on day 4 of symptoms and just done a test and the line was as dark and thick as it was 4 days ago. I must have picked up a lot of the virus as feel awful.

Me too, my test today was thicker and stronger today than Monday, I was hoping it would be fading by now. I'm really fed up with the no taste thing, it's so depressing.

On the plus side I've lost 2 kilos this week.

Morning my fellow Covid folks, how is everyone doing?

I'm on day 5 and yesterday was the first day of no fever which is so much better. I have raging ear ache in my left ear and feel a bit dizzy from that. Just had some breakfast and don't feel sick so far, it was just disappointing as I couldn't taste it! I had a shower and a hair wash- not exactly a spa experience as couldn't smell my nice soap. Stuck my head out the back door and breathed in- VERY odd not being able to smell fresh air! Improving though.

Poormepoorme · 23/09/2023 10:09

Im day 6(ish!) and feeling a bit better today, managed to sleep quite a lot (albeit broken and with spells of nausea) which seems to be the key.

Still tired but able to potter around the house and my head feels a bit clearer. Started to feel quite depressed last night so I am relieved that there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel!

Notverywellatm · 23/09/2023 10:47

Have small patches of energy when I plan a small job that is vital to get done and then rest between whiles. Suspicious my body has forgotten the difference between night and day

Indiaorigin · 23/09/2023 11:43

I’m day 4. Im lucky so far. My back is aching from the coughing. I have so far escaped lightly, being able to was dress and get up. I tried sitting in a chair. I haven’t tried to do much yet so don’t know how to gauge my energy level. (So lucky I have support and not responsible for children or a career).

Best wishes to all especially those with much worse symptoms.

Zafloraqueen · 23/09/2023 12:25

Day 4 and struggled through the night with bodyache and a painful stomach. Managed another shower no appetite and still feel weak. Hoping for more rest today

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/09/2023 13:16

I just had a proper sleep, easily drifted off and was only an hour but was lovely. No nightmares and I feel it did me good. Ear still hurts like a bastard though !

Just joining on day 2 of Covid!
Last time I had it really mildly, this time it's floored me!

Started with sore throat and runny nose and aching all over, but I've been moving furniture so put it down to that, then started with cough and the aching got worse, first night sleep was horrendous, took a sleeping tablets last night and slept through which was lovely

Today my body aches but my neck is really sore, think my glands are all swollen

I do have health anxiety and I feel a bit panicking because I'm very overweight and I also have a blood clotting disorder. Hopefully it won't get serious

thankyouforthedayz · 23/09/2023 14:04

Day 4 no fever today! Have stood and cleared fridge, done online shop, still have aches, headache, exhaustion, no taste/ smell, mad bouts of sneezing. Now I'm bothered that the house is a tip, no laundry's been done and the kids are eating rubbish, whereas before today I didn't give a shinny S.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/09/2023 14:19

I am very bothered Dh bought peanut butter when we didn't need it, I must be getting better 😂

Day 4 since I tested, probably day 6 of having it. Was sick last night which wasn’t pleasant as it hurt my back. Had a bath and went back to bed but couldn’t sleep. Bit more sneezing last night and today, again agony for my back and it spasms for ages after. Feeling a lot weaker today and my mouth feels odd, think my sense of taste is going. I am not really eating much though just nibbling on the odd thing when I feel really hungry but can’t eat much. I am on day 4 of being in bed. So fed up of just staying in bed but really don’t have any other option.
