@NotReadyForAutumnYet thanks for the info about pacing, I've recently been thinking in terms of the spoons theory and it makes a lot of sense.

Hope your symptoms are easier on you today, and you feel a bit closer to your original baseline 🙏

I may have been overconfident and overdid it yesterday, going out and about. Today I’m exhausted and sweating. Despite the fact I’d tested negative so thought it was over, I’m now back to feeling quite rubbish.

Notverywellatm · 01/10/2023 11:52

Worked late Friday to make sure I didn't have to work over the weekend and slept better. Have managed some jobs in the garden. Brain fog is now clearing a bit (day10)

Me too,I've been exhausted and in tears all morning, feel really low and fed up I can't taste or smell. If I knew it was going to be a month or so it would be fine but the thought of it not coming back at all is really depressing. And I still have a woozy head ache going on and bad ear ache. GP tomorrow to check it's not an infection.

This latest variant is a real doozy. I am on day 12 and feeling quite a bit better now - still quite tired but basically functioning sufficiently to get by. DH on the other hand is on day 14 - depressingly, he is still unwell and still testing positive.

We went out for a walk yesterday and I think it has set him back quite a lot.

He's never been so unwell with covid before (and neither have I).

Flowers to everyone who is struggling.

nopuppiesallowed · 01/10/2023 13:18

I had a mild bout of Covid in January 2021 and the minute I was out of isolation, went for a long walk with a friend. Bad idea. Long Covid hit like a ton of bricks. It's better than it was (sent to A and E at one point) but I've definitely not recovered. I recommend that anyone with LC keeps in touch with their doctor otherwise they think no news from you means you are back to normal. Mine sent me for various tests which showed nothing (though i had trouble breathing, palpitations and fatigue). Some lung physio helped with disordered breathing pattern (who knew that's an actual thing) and I'm now on a LC video link for 12 weeks which is run by ME experts. Think they're psychologists. I was struggling as I've had to give up the things I love doing and felt a bit 😔. The video link has been such a help as there are about 20 LC sufferers on it and we can talk about the impact on our lives and the leaders talk to us about managing the fatigue we're all floored by. So do talk to your doctors and ask for help. I'm also now on a 3 month trial of hay-fever tablets plus an antacid which has appeared to have helped some people. It's not worked for me yet, but perhaps things will change soon....

Sorry for the long post but I hope it will help someone.

Kaill · 01/10/2023 14:32

I’m on day 33. Between days 1-20 I slowly got worse until I was incapacitated and unable to walk or use my hands, because my muscles were so stiff and painful. I was exhausted by any tiny exertion. No respiratory symptoms. Anxiety didn’t help, the doctor didn’t know what was wrong and I was shitting myself thinking I was seriously ill and getting worse.

For the last two weeks I’ve been slowly recovering, I can now walk half a mile if I take it very slowly. The doctor and hospital have ruled out other causes and they’re saying it’s viral, most likely Covid because that can have freaky symptoms. They can’t think of any other virus that could do this. So if anyone has similar symptoms it could be Covid.

BooAutumniscoming · 01/10/2023 18:05

I'm day 7 from positive test. Planning to go back to work tomorrow.

The tiredness is cruel but I know From the previous times I had covid that it takes about a month to get over the tiredness. Have a headache today but hoping it's just a normal headache and not covid related.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/10/2023 10:35

Saw the GP and my ears are fine so the ear pain is inflammation of the eustachian tubes, otherwise known as 'post covid pain.' 🙄 Hopefully it will clear as my cold symptoms ease although I am sneezing my head off this morning!!!

Day 8 from testing positive.

Am back at work today (WFH) and feel terrible. The cough is awful today.

It's so deceiving cos some days I feel better and the next I am worse again.

I'm at the GP later for something else so will mention it to him.

Xenomoth · 02/10/2023 15:08

Day 6 from testing positive for me but definitely had it for a few days before that. Test has now been negative for two days but I really don’t feel any better. Have zero energy, light-headed and feel sick, no appetite at all.

I really should go back to work but my jobs involves me being on my feet all day, I don’t know how I will cope.

Xenomoth · 02/10/2023 15:10

Had covid affected anyone’s hearing? My ears keep blocking and my hearing going tinny. I don’t think it’s helping the dizziness…feel like I have water down my ears but no pain.

forgivingfiggy · 02/10/2023 15:26

I was making the dinner last night and suddenly felt a bit nauseous, really didn't want dinner. Then sore cramps stomach, almost like labour pains. Went to bed and woke at 5am sore all over. Lower back, under ribs and fingers. I keep falling into some kind of limbo sleep where I can't get fully over. Don't want to eat. I haven't tested yet. I don't think I want to know TBH. Had covid beginning of May and it was rotten.

Yes I had this and couldn't hear the podcasts I was listening to properly. Also had whooshing noises which is a type of tinnitus. It would say it's 90% better now

Yes, mildly in one ear and quite a lot in the other. Every two or three weeks, it pops and is so lovely to hear properly again for a couple of hours.

Xenomoth · 02/10/2023 16:15

Ok, glad it’s not just me with the ears but sorry that some of you are suffering with it too! Such a strange feeling.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/10/2023 18:54

I've sneezed all afternoon and my sense of smell has returned a bit more!! How bizarre.

I definitely went back to work too soon, I am exhausted after today (day 8).

Have had bad headache, cough was terrible today and now I'm so tired and it's only 7.15. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

You poor thing, hope an early night helps.

I've just had a shower and am heading for bed myself. Better day today all round , need to take it slowly tomorrow or I'll be back to square one.

Not too bad but taking it easy. I have one more test so I’ll use it tomorrow just to see if I’m negative yet, should be day 13

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 03/10/2023 13:02

How's everyone today?

I slept well and feel more human than I have in 2 weeks ! Had a friend over for coffee and I now need to sit quietly and rest as I'm worn out. Ear pain isn't quite as bad but still there, coughing a lot and sneezing but all in all not doing too badly.

Caspianberg · 03/10/2023 16:21

I think we have it this end.
But no rest happening as 3 year old seems to have super energy despite 39 degree temperature.

BooAutumniscoming · 03/10/2023 18:59

I am doing better today than yesterday but I think thats because I went to bed for 50 minutes of my 60 minute lunch break today! Have more energy this evening than other evenings.

The dream I had last night was horrifying, I read some others have had weird dreams too.

My nose is in a really bad way from all the sniffling and blowing, I actually have open wounds!
