The WhatsApp message leak

So, we’ve had the FBI saying it was a lab leak, the leaked messages showing many of the restrictions were for show, stats on the reality of masks being mostly useless unless N95s. Where are all the people that were so upset about anyone saying anything against the government now.

It’s almost as if no one care where the virus came from and how the government reacted. If I’d spent years being terrified and washing my shopping I’d be really pissed off.

😂😂
I know someone who spent ages washing ALL her shopping. When parcels were delivered to her home, she left them in the porch for a week before she opened them 😂

That..and post.

but - and this person is really nice - a friend of the family damaged her electronic car keys because she overdid the spraying with disinfectant and liquid got in.

though, actually one of mum's neighbours asked me if I disinfected her house keys. I said yes for a quiet life.

JenniferBooth · 05/03/2023 18:43

@EmmaEmerald Yes and i remember there being tweets and interviews about how we mustnt become a papers please country. But we already had. I was carrying a paper copy of the new "rules" for carers in my handbag in case i got stopped by over zealous plod

We nearly had a second Christmas lockdown in 2021 too

Ehhh, I think nearly is an exaggeration. I'm not saying nobody was calling for it: Indy SAGE wanted a circuit breaker beforehand and we all know what that'd have turned into. But there was never any real danger of one. Johnson didn't have the party numbers, the earliest Partygate revelations were making it clear the Tories didn't have the moral authority to impose one, the public wouldn't have had it and there was no will to pay for one either. That ship had sailed by December 2021, thankfully.

Not a hoax, leaked from a lab, massive wealth transfer and power trip. They used a virus that wasn't as deadly and profited from it. It looks like the had a script , not Just Tory thing as friend's from other countries said same thing. Some country leaders were harsher and more totalitarian than the UK. Many of the leaders at the time are jumping shi now. expect much more will come out, well it wouldn't surprise me. He response to the plandemic was massively exaggerated.

So are you saying governments across the world conspired to have a carefully selected virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan in order to enable wealth transfer/power grab? Transfer of wealth from whom to whom? Who now has power who didn't hold it before?

DayKay · 05/03/2023 19:02

To be honest, I believed everything initially too and would leave my parcels for a few days and did wipe down my shopping a few times.
Then things started to not make sense to me. All the inconsistencies, all the shift in common sense thinking, all the shutting down of anyone saying something different, all the lies.
And through all this, the thing that really didn't make sense to me was that there were no expert virologists who could make actual valid points. People who spent their lifetime working with viruses and not one could tell us what it actually was and how it was transmitted. Which is why we were cleaning shopping. Bizarre.
It was a crazy time.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 05/03/2023 19:24

It doesn’t surprise me one bit (unfortunately,) that all of the messages are showing a superficiality where you just now there’s an undercurrent of:

A) How can I gain from this
B) Can I get one over XXX (rival) with this
C) what’s the best way to spin this so I don’t lose face

Etc

and it saddens me that the opposition parties are not making more of this - but of course, they can't really because they were constantly calling for more stringent restrictions, introduced sooner and lasting longer...

JenniferBooth · 05/03/2023 19:38

And Covid rules are still being used against certain sections of society. Im a social housing tenant and i got this letter last month dated last month which contained this paragraph

"it is advisable to wear a face covering. Where residents are not willing to do this we reserve the right not to enter the property and this will be treated as failure to provide access"

It isn't really true that no one could say what it is or how it was transmitted. The virus was identified and described really early on and research started straight away. Some organisations were slow to admit the virus is airborne, but there's nothing controversial about any of the ways it has been known to transmit since early on, e.g. droplets, fomites, and airborne. Even the fomites (by touch) - it might be much less significant than airborne transmission (which is the big one for this particular virus), but it can still happen. If someone with covid (or any respiratory virus really) sneezes into their hand and then shakes mine or hands me a biscuit, I'm going to be at risk of catching that virus. The odds of picking it up from a random bit of shopping are tiny, but you were being completely logical in identifying that as a possible route - it's just improbable enough that for most people it's not worth the stress of doing anything about it.

Nearly every business I interact with still has notes on letters and emails about covid rules or saying 'we will deliver your parcel then stand back' or whatever, but then they just behave as normal. I'd be amazed if that was was actually followed through on.

JenniferBooth · 05/03/2023 20:41

Except in this case it isnt still These are totally new letters which we never had before last month.

Crikeyalmighty · 05/03/2023 20:50

I don't think it was remotely any kind of hoax- otherwise all the medics in the world would have been on it too- I do think however it was lab leaked- some kind of germ warfare thing. I think the WhatsApp's though show a lot of how it was handled in UK was done for political posturing. We were in Denmark at the time- handled in a different way I felt- none of this on the podium every day kind of stuff that I felt was geared to appeal to a certain viewing public- my 83 year old FIL watched avidly every day. All this bravado about being first with vaccine too- coincidentally designed I feel to bolster up the Brexit thing. In Denmark it was fully explained why the vaccine wouldn't be coming on tap till 6 weeks later. All very gung ho here I felt- never mind the quality or the checks- look how speedy we can be without the EU !

@IClaudine are you denying the transfer of wealth?

Sillysheep · 05/03/2023 21:08

I was mostly angry and now i'm quite sad as i've lost faith in people.

I honestly thought people wouldn't go along with the lockdowns, that there would be riots, that parents wouldn't put up with it etc.

Instead, there was pan banging and compliance.

Very sad. I didn't realise people were so willing to give up their freedoms, and the freedoms of their loved ones.

And I can understand people being scared, but it wasn't just fear, people became like the gestapo.

I gave people far too much credit.

But then on the flip side if it was worse than it was, would you have preferred bodies on the streets etc just to prove the point that people were not sheep?

Firstly, Tories have no values, just as Labour don't, both are opportunistic - ie Sunak improving relations with the EU and Starmer now a brexitier.

If Covid wasn't as deadly, then why did it wreck health services? Why did vaccines dramatically cut death & serious illness rates? & why did the majority of countries act in a similar way?

Yes the rich certainly got richer but was that planned or just a by product of their greed?

That's assuming that no lockdown would automatically have resulted in "bodies in the street". Sweden didn't lock down and as far as I recall they didn't have "bodies in the street".

JenniferBooth · 05/03/2023 22:09

Im in North Essex but just wondering......is anyone from Leicester reading this thread Lockdown wise they had it worst. They came out of it for about three weeks back in the summer of 2020 Then straight back in again.

I think this is the actual point from this whole thread? This never happened! The messages prove that they were using this supposed emergency situation. Thankfully the bodies on the street were never a situation, but unfortunately due to the behaviour of those pushing said messages we now have a massive division within the population and this is world-wide! People are now stopping vaccinating their kids, people are avoiding drs, people don't trust anyone anymore! Especially the NHS or vaccines! It's a terrible situation and it needs to be addressed and although we are only getting our crappy governments information more will come and it's sad to see the people we were supposed to trust are basically looking to only line their pockets 😔
