If you could go back in time, would you still get the Covid jab?

I don’t really care if you’re vaccinated or not, but I’m interested if people would go back and change their decision?

OP posts:
IntentionalError · 29/12/2022 18:18

Yes, of course. I’m asthmatic so I was extremely cautious before I was vaccinated. I have now had four doses, with no significant side effects at all. Those amazing vaccines gave me my life back.

Purpleavocado · 29/12/2022 18:18

Yes, fingers crossed I still haven't had covid, so assuming it's helped my immunity

Hoppinggreen · 29/12/2022 18:19

Yes, all 4 times

LaMarschallin · 29/12/2022 18:20

What were the 9 people's reasons, OP?

I'd definitely have all the vaccinations I was advised to have again and don't know anyone who wouldn't.

ChocAuVin · 29/12/2022 18:20

Yes x 3

AntennaReborn · 29/12/2022 18:20

Yes.

I have had COVID twice, the first time was soon after my booster and I barely had any symptoms

The second time nearly a year after my last dose (not eligible for another one where I live) and I was quite ill and still not fully recovered weeks later.

I wish I had been able to get a 4th dose and probably would have been a lot less unwell the 2nd time

Krakenwakes · 29/12/2022 18:20

Yes

Mindymomo · 29/12/2022 18:20

Yes as I know 2 people who died before vaccinations who probably would have lived if they’d been vaccinated and one friend, a nurse, was really ill in hospital when covid first hit, it was touch and go whether she would pull through, but she did, but had to give up work as she suffered long covid and has aged about 20 years.

MysweetAudrina · 29/12/2022 18:21

Yes

Helpmesortit · 29/12/2022 18:21

Nope!! Within the month I had awful headaches (having never had headaches before!) I was then diagnosed with high blood pressure (despite being 37 and slim and healthy!) and tachycardia!! So No…I wouldn’t 😭

MajorCarolDanvers · 29/12/2022 18:21

Yes. All 4 of them. And I will keep getting them as long as I'm offered them.

strawberriesplease · 29/12/2022 18:21

Eh. Yes. Cause I'm not a lunatic

BooseysMom · 29/12/2022 18:21

A friend of my sister in law works in the Covid wards and she said those being admitted, the majority have not been vaccinated. I felt horrendous after the last booster but it might have been worse because I had the flu jab at the same time. I would have them based on what the nurses on the Covid wards are saying.

letthatmango · 29/12/2022 18:22

Yes, just wish we'd had it sooner!

Aquasulis · 29/12/2022 18:23

Yes all 5 of them.

I believe they saved our lives. I was very very Ill with Covid after my second jab but not in hospital. Daughter was allowed 2 jabs although she was 14 as I was ECV and she got Covid and lost half her body weight and was admitted to hospital she was very very very ill. I strongly believe without the jabs things would have been much much much worse for us.

FountainOfOof · 29/12/2022 18:23

Yes.
The only anti vaxer I knew personally is dead.
What were the reasons given by the 9 people who said they wouldn't ?

RoseslnTheHospital · 29/12/2022 18:23

Yes of course. Can't fathom why so many people at your social gathering (9 out of 12!) would not have done so? Did anyone give any meaningful rationale?

sunglassesonthetable · 29/12/2022 18:24

yep. very grateful

BHRK · 29/12/2022 18:24

Yes of course! I only have to look at Kate Garraway‘s husband to feel grateful I didn’t get Covid before vaccines arrived. So sad

Lally12 · 29/12/2022 18:24

100% - the vaccines were what allowed us to get a grip on the virus, reduce its severity and ultimately to survive a pandemic of a novel disease.

Beyond the very few people that sadly have severe Reactions to vaccinations, why wouldn't you have it?

chipsarnie · 29/12/2022 18:24

Yes, absolutely. Had all 4.

It's also made me magnetic, which has come in useful a few times.

vodkaredbullgirl · 29/12/2022 18:25

Yes 3x

Got Covid for the 1st time this month and was fine.

pattihews · 29/12/2022 18:26

Of course I'd have the jabs again. My friend who is in charge of nursing services for her county says the people being admitted to hospital in need of invasive treatment for Covid are almost all anti-vaxxers.

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 29/12/2022 18:29

Yes. Absolutely. I am currently recovering from COVID and have been pretty rough despite having had an Omicron booster recently. I hate to think how bad I would have been without the vaccine.

FestivePinkFairy · 29/12/2022 18:29

Absolutely. All 5 but would have preferred not to have the Oxford for 1 and 2 due to the anxiety over blood clots.
