Side effects of the latest Covid jab

mydogisthebest · 10/10/2022 21:13

What, if any, side effects are people experiencing?

I had the jab at 4pm on Saturday. By 8pm I could not keep my eyes open (I normally don't go to bed until 11pm at the earliest and hardly ever fall asleep watching tv).

Even going to bed at 8.30pm and sleeping fairly well I didn't wake yesterday until 8am and still felt so tired. My arms and legs were aching and I felt sick. I actually slept most of the day and only had a piece of toast to eat which I brought back up.

Today I haven't stayed in bed but am still really tired but the most annoying thing is that everything tastes strange. I am a big tea drinker but at present it tastes vile. DH cooked egg and chips for tea which is one of my favourite meals and it was just horrible and tasted weird.

Just hoping this isn't going to last long

I had my fourth covid jab, alongside the flu in, on Saturday at 12:50. Apart from a slightly sore arm, no other side effects at all.

BooksAndHooks · 10/10/2022 21:19

Just had a sore arm and a very tender armpit, the same as when I had the first one.

HermioneWeasley · 10/10/2022 21:21

I had my Covid booster (4th jab and it was Moderna) along with flu jab on Friday evening. Sat I had chills, joint pain and fatigue but was fine by Sunday

MsMartini · 10/10/2022 21:25

Jabbed 9am Saturday, by late afternoon/early evening, I was tired, bit achey, fell asleep. Fine next day apart from a sore arm.

OP, that seems quite quick onset and then long-lasting - just wondering if you've picked up an actual illness as well (covid or something else). Hope you feel better soon anyway.

dampgreg · 10/10/2022 21:26

I had the new one and flu at the same time last week. A couple of sore ish arms and a sore armpit for a day and that was it

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 10/10/2022 21:28

A slightly sore arm. Otherwise all fine.

RafaistheKingofClay · 10/10/2022 21:45

I had mine on the Friday afternoon. The Saturday was a bit of washout. Went back to bed about an hour after I got up (tired and achy). Pretty sure I was Ok by the Sunday afternoon.

RafaistheKingofClay · 10/10/2022 21:47

I wonder whether, with the taste thing you might actually have been incubating a covid infection when you went for the jab.

Namechanger355 · 10/10/2022 21:49

Quite a few Side effects with my first and second - fatigue etc

had my 4th last week (and had covid a few months ago)- literally no symptoms whatsoever

livealatte · 10/10/2022 21:49

Sounds like you've actually got Covid and had it when you had the jab?

AngelsWithSilverWings · 10/10/2022 21:51

Had my fourth jab last week and didn't get any side effects. My third made me ill for a week so I was careful to book my fourth when I could afford to be unwell for a few days. Needn't have worried. Had my flu jab at the same time too.

Cait73 · 10/10/2022 21:52

I'm not having my 4th because straight after the 3rd I temporarily lost my vision then I was so poorly I couldn't get up for days

MadamLibrarian · 10/10/2022 21:53

Had 4th with flu jab too, no symptoms apart from slightly sore arm. Same with DH.

Renalmum · 10/10/2022 21:59

Practically everyone I know who's had the moderna as 4th jab has had these side effects. My MIL went to get her jab and they had changed it to the Pfizer due to the side effects experienced with Moderna. Most side effects have lasted 24-48 hrs. Hope you feel better soon.

IamSamantha · 10/10/2022 22:02

Had 4th on Saturday. By Sunday morning I ached everywhere, tight cheat dizzy. It eased off as Sunday passed. Today I've felt seasick tired and very emotional.

IamSamantha · 10/10/2022 22:03

Moderna was awful last time as well.

LubaLuca · 10/10/2022 22:05

I had it on Thursday, just had the usual tiredness and achy limbs for about 24-36 hours. I tested positive for covid today 😬

inheritanceshiteagain · 10/10/2022 22:07

Slightly sore arm, far less painful than #3. I did feel tired but think it was because I was up so early.

Amarette · 10/10/2022 22:08

I had fever, headache, joint pain, nausea felt dreadful. Was in bed for 3 days and haven't felt so bad for a long, long time.

inheritanceshiteagain · 10/10/2022 22:09

I've had Pfizer x 4. Never had moderna

Clevs · 10/10/2022 22:10

I had a sore arm and headache, which I've had with all of them but didn't seem as bad this time.

When I had Covid a headache was my main symptom too.

ZebraF · 10/10/2022 22:14

I had a bad headache for the first day and horrible fatigue for 3 days after my booster 2 weeks ago. Still getting tiredness by mid-afternoon which is gradually improving.

crazynell · 10/10/2022 22:20

I had flu and a covid jab Saturday morning one in each arm. I felt a bit nauseous and sore arms later on and then I couldn't sleep that night and felt really cold - normally I'm chucking the duvet off I'm so hot. Also my joints were aching and I had a really dry mouth. I was out all day Sunday and felt fine but tired. I'm ok now

mydogisthebest · 11/10/2022 08:22

It was Moderna that I had.

I do actually feel a lot better today. My tea tastes almost normal.

I did a covid test on Saturday morning to make sure I didn't have it as my GP surgery said not to go for the jab if you had covid or had had in the previous few weeks.

I had my jabs on Saturday flu plus covid. Weekend felt a bit off and yesterday my arm pits were tender. This morning though I feel dreadful aching all over and bone aching fatigue my arm is hot and red around the injection site. This is my second Pfizer. I've had side effects with all four jabs first two were Astra. Either I'm coming down with something or a delayed reaction.
