Side effects of the latest Covid jab

mydogisthebest · 10/10/2022 21:13

What, if any, side effects are people experiencing?

I had the jab at 4pm on Saturday. By 8pm I could not keep my eyes open (I normally don't go to bed until 11pm at the earliest and hardly ever fall asleep watching tv).

Even going to bed at 8.30pm and sleeping fairly well I didn't wake yesterday until 8am and still felt so tired. My arms and legs were aching and I felt sick. I actually slept most of the day and only had a piece of toast to eat which I brought back up.

Today I haven't stayed in bed but am still really tired but the most annoying thing is that everything tastes strange. I am a big tea drinker but at present it tastes vile. DH cooked egg and chips for tea which is one of my favourite meals and it was just horrible and tasted weird.

Just hoping this isn't going to last long

Plenty at my trust this week after the injections, looking like death warmed up and moaning about painful arms.

No sympathy for them at all.

You sound a real sweetheart.

FanniesFlaps · 16/10/2022 08:44

Had flu and covid jabs at the same time. Sore arm and a bit of a temperature is all I got this time.

peridito · 16/10/2022 09:01

I had Spikevax/Omicon booster on Friday .Woke on Sat with headache and red tight/'sunburnt"face.
Headache went with paracetamol .Face business subsided .
V bad completely liquid diarrhea throughout day and some nausea.
I note that this booster has a Conditional Marketing Authorisation.

Maybe other boosters are also conditional ,I've not checked .

I'm sure that these SE are worth it to lessen my chances of getting Covid which I think would make me feel worse and has the risk of long term effects .

FuzzyPuffling · 16/10/2022 13:42

I had Cominarty ( Pfizer) and over 65s flu jab together yesterday morning. Yesterday evening I felt dreadful...really bad chills, nausea, was asleep ( on and off) from 7pm ( drat, missed Strictly). This morning I still have a headache and am very fatigued ( not really got off the sofa) but it's getting better.

However, I do have an autoimmune condition which seems to make my response to either vaccines or illness more than the average person.

I had my 4th last Sunday morning at 9am. I've had Pfizer, Pfizer, Moderna, now Pfizer again. Felt tired later in the day after the second Pfizer, nothing for the others. This one has been very different. I thought I was 'otherwise ill', but I've just spoken to a friend who has had the same reaction.

Ill on Monday - fever, shivers, exhausted, feeling sick, heartburn. Carried on on Tuesday, then settled into a pattern that is STILL going on. Am hungry so I eat, after around 15 minutes a bad headache arrives, then the heartburn, then I start to feel sick and have 2 hours worth of nausea, shivers, being exhausted. I then get hungry again, so eat at normal time and the same thing happens. I basically have 6 hours of feeling shit every day. I've changed to eating tiny meals, or watery soups, but anything other than water causes the same reaction. I don't want to have this jab again.

@ClaudineClare

The side effects lasted about 48hrs but I just wasn't expecting to feel so unwell especially as I'd had no effects with previous jabs . I've also never had covid so I'm thinking is the jab worse than getting covid , I've nothing to compare it to.

I've had covid twice - first time was last November, truly awful - most ill I've never been. Second time in May was less bad than this week has been.

FuzzyPuffling · 17/10/2022 07:52

I'm feeling much, much better today after jabs on Saturday morning. Headache gone, feeling much brighter. My arm's still a bit tender but nothing to write home about.

And I have a stupid immune system through lupus.

FuzzyPuffling · 17/10/2022 07:53

Oh and I have had AZ, AZ, Moderna and Pfizer, so have collected the full set!

TenoringBehind · 18/10/2022 08:09

None at all, not even a sore arm.

pfizer.

i was really surprised because I was in bed for 24 hours feeling dreadful after the previous three.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 18/10/2022 08:23

Had it yesterday and so far a sore arm.

mmmflakycrust81 · 18/10/2022 14:14

I had my fourth vaccine yesterday - I had the Comirnaty Pfizer - previously had AZ and Modena,
I have had Covid once with no symptoms and caught it by chance testing before going into the office.
Never had any side effects to any of the vaccines. Today feel a tiny bit achy and not much appetite but thats it!

I will continue to get boosters as long as they are offered to me. I feel very fortunate that unlike many colleagues and friends, I have never been ill.

nokitchen · 18/10/2022 16:17

Had my covid booster today along with the flu jab. No idea what I had. Last time I got the little time nothing

nokitchen · 18/10/2022 16:17

Little card

Abra1t · 18/10/2022 16:21

I had the Moderna ten days ago and had no side effects other than slight fatigue.

PorkPieAndAPickledOnion · 18/10/2022 16:23

I had my Pfizer Bivalent booster yesterday lunchtime. I woke up tired this morning but by about 10.30 I was freezing with chills, had awful aching all over and a headache, and some nausea. I’ve taken paracetamol and that’s helped a bit, though my head in particular is still banging. I had similar after my first AZ dose, and a lesser version after my Pfizer booster last winter. I don’t care because it goes within 24 hours, and having Covid is much, much worse, IME.

RoxieLoxy · 18/10/2022 16:26

Had the Pfizer booster on Saturday morning and had only a slightly sore arm. Didn't need paracetamol or anything.

RatherBeRiding · 18/10/2022 16:28

Had the Pfizer booster a couple of weeks ago - literally zilch side effects.

knittingaddict · 18/10/2022 16:56

4 hours is a bit quick to get side effects. It usually takes about 12 hours to kick in.

Had mine about 45 minutes ago.

knittingaddict · 18/10/2022 16:57

Don't even have a sore arm yet, but that's all I got with the previous vaccines.

MuddyLuddy · 18/10/2022 17:01

Had the Pfizer one on Sunday ( 5 th one ) very sore arm , constant headache , tired and lethargic. Hopefully feeling better tomorrow.

tb4122 · 18/10/2022 17:09

Had Pfizer viva lent booster on Friday and apart from a slightly sore arm the next day I had no side effects.

TheDogsMother · 18/10/2022 17:14

I had the Pfizer last Saturday am. Feeling tired by the evening, very washed out all day Sunday until the evening. I lay on the sofa dozing for a couple of hours, heavy legs and sore vaccination are on my arm. I followed it up with the flu vaccination yesterday and was slightly dreading that one but I wasn't too bad.

Toddlerteaplease · 18/10/2022 17:22

No side effects for any of them or any flu jabs. I suspect the OP had a coincidental illness.

Didiplanthis · 18/10/2022 17:28

Had my 4th Pfizer. .. was really ill after this one. Much worse than my last bout of covid. Kept testing to make sure it wasn't actual covid.
