This is not a mild cold!

I'm positive for the first time after three vaccinations and I feel awful! Has anyone else avoided it for so long and been properly wiped out?

I have a bad cold, scratchy sore throat, slight cough, massive headache, dizziness and I ache everywhere. But most of all I'm just exhausted. I tested positive immediately on Wednesday and the line is getting stronger and I feel worse each day

Sorry to hear lots of your are still ill. After about 6 days I felt almost healed. I’ve got a slight tickle in my throat and I’ve had to clear it maybe 5/6 times today but otherwise I feel fine. I’m hoping it stays that way

Was about 4 days for me, and even before then I didn't feel too ill do anything.

It is just so weird how can affect everyone so differently.

Hippopotamousses · 16/07/2022 22:30

Thanks @Magic1231 it is been about 10 days now. I'm just so glad that I don't seem to have passed it on to vulnerable family members and friends. Not going to lie, I am worried about longer term effects. Hope you are ok Magic

I'm on day 10 tomorrow, so more aless the same. Like you I've been fretting over passing it on to vulnerable people in my household. It sucks so much doesn't it, as if you dont feel poorly enough you cant even go near anyone for comfort. I already had neurological issues, and it seems it's only worsened then, I feel so low, like you I'm worried how long I'm going to be like this xxx

Enko · 16/07/2022 22:56

Tested positive Wednesday so day 3 or 4?
Sneezing. Fatigue muscle aches and a splitting headache
Struggle with loud sounds too.
High temperature 39-40. Wednesday and Thursday. Lower yesterday woke ip w no temperature today thinking I am on the mend. Day started out better. Fatigue yes but headache better and muscle aches better. Got to 8 pm and I feel like I've been hit by. A truck. Muscle ache is back. Temperature is back. Head back to splitting sensation. I cant listen to anything and it hurts my head (not ears) and omg the cough. Burns all the way down my chest and makes me cry in pain each time. Reminds of of when I had bronchitis years ago.. I feel like I'm going to be sick but oddly don't feel. Nauseated not sure how that works. Soo thirsty I keep drinking the keep needing the toilet and getting g up makes me cough. Argh. Tnk heavens for ddog wk
Ho has slept next to me l evening keeping me company.

Magic1231 · 16/07/2022 23:00

Oh bless you, I can definitely understand your pain. This really is awful isnt it! I know what you mean about getting your hopes up you're on the mend, then bam you feel worse than ever again! When will it end 😭 xxx

Hippopotamousses · 16/07/2022 23:28

@Enko I had nausea but no sickness too. The fatigue and aches are the worst. Look after yourself

Sorry you are suffering x I had a rotten cold about a month before I had Covid, for me the cold was much worse and the Covid I’m grateful was super mild (though a strong line)

hope it bogs off soon for you x

HardTimesHarder · 17/07/2022 18:14

Yep it is odd how it’s affecting everyone differently @XenoBitch. I only really had GI symptoms. It was horrible bringing up pure green bile. At one point I vomited 18 times over 2.5 hours but I felt fine otherwise. It’s a strange but horrid illness.

i don’t think this heat helps either. I’m back to reality tomorrow and will be outside all day, I’m hoping I do okay.

HardTimesHarder · 17/07/2022 18:16

I’ve also lost 6lbs. I think from not eating for days on end as I couldn’t even keep water down. I’ve been eating better since Thursday so now doubt it’ll all pile back on.

Enko · 17/07/2022 22:03

Anyone got a bad ear ache from this? I can't make my mind up if I'm also developing an ear infection. Left ear is so painful and feels like it has flud inside. It was also that side i was completely congested in.
Wondering if gp will do antibiotics over phone as still testing positive

Yes I've lost about 8-9lbs, same way. Like you I was desperately sick (ended up in hospital with dehydration). I too feel really shaken by the whole thing. Day 12 now, finally negative but so weak, everything still hurts, still on antibiotics for chest infection. I get ill a lot through my chronic disease but this has been worse than some of my pneumonias 😢

I lost 7lb, but my appetite was fine. I can only think my body burned more calories fighting the infection.

Hippopotamousses · 18/07/2022 23:05

This heat is wiping me out. Hope you are all coping ok

RoxieLoxy · 19/07/2022 10:12

I'm on day 7 and thought I was on the mend but after 3 days of no sore throat I've now started with a worse one than when I first had it. How can that happen? I started off with a sore throat but surely once it's gone for 3 days it shouldn't come back? Really tired again as well. But smell and taste seem to be returning.

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

LIZS · 19/07/2022 15:58

Three weeks on from positive test and finally feels as if my energy level is getting back to more normal, still coughing occasionally but slept better last night despite the heat.

Hippopotamousses · 19/07/2022 21:10

Good news @LIZS! Two weeks from mine tomorrow and I still feel pretty rough. The heat hasn't helped. First day back in the office tomorrow and for once I'm not looking forward to it as I'm just so knackered!

Anyone else having issues with their heart rate spiking?

greenacrylicpaint · 21/07/2022 13:01

not spiking as such, but my resting heart rate is about 10bpm higher than usual since I first tested positive.

I seem to be slowly getting better. slightly out of breath still, headache, fatigue.(day 18)

HardTimesHarder · 21/07/2022 16:02

Interesting @greenacrylicpaint. My resting heart rate has been 95 up from low 80s. I feel hot and sweaty and I can’t tell if it’s the heat, post-COVID or the fact I’ve increased my stimulant dose for ADHD.

I really don’t want to be taken off my stimulants as they’re making a difference and my blood pressure is absolutely fine. But also I know a standing heart rate of 110 is not normal. I’m worried and quite gutted.

greenacrylicpaint · 21/07/2022 16:10

wow, that's really high.
maybe a chat with the gp would be wise as covid can cause myocarditis.
I hope you feel better soon!

Madhairday · 21/07/2022 16:30

HardTimesHarder · 21/07/2022 12:28

Anyone else having issues with their heart rate spiking?

Yes mine keeps going up whenever I try and stand up/walk to the kitchen etc. It's exhausting. I haven't measured it, but can feel it going crazy. I need to dig my monitor out.

HardTimesHarder · 21/07/2022 16:45

yep, I know @greenacrylicpaint :(
I’m a final year vet student in clinics at the moment and I feel on the edge of passing out constantly. I don’t have another appointment with my psychiatrist until the start of august so I think I’ll miss my stimulant dose for tomorrow and see if they’re the cause. I’m really really hoping it’s a COVID symptom and will go away. In the heat on Monday my heart rate hit 186 just standing outside. It’s insane!

@Madhairday So sorry to hear you’re having the same issue! :(

HardTimesHarder · 23/07/2022 12:59

Didn’t take my meds yesterday or this morning, they should be completely out of my system now and my heart rate is still quite fast, headaches and dizziness too.

I’ve also lost some of my hearing and can’t hear certain heart sounds now. Gutted and had to invest in an electronic stethoscope to try and help. I have a further hearing test tomorrow but they think it could all be linked to COVID. I’ve developed a cough too. 2 weeks after infection despite testing negative.

I’m a healthy 23 year old. I’m continuing to lose weight too despite hardly moving in comparison to my normal, I’m 8lbs down since I tested positive.

xyzabchij · 23/07/2022 14:43

I have terrible pelvic pain atm, feels like when I was recovering from my c section. I wonder if it's from covid. I haven't been able to figure out why it's like this, but reading all these weird symptoms makes me think it's somehow related.

Wookey123 · 23/07/2022 14:49

Can you describe the symptoms in the chest my colleague tested positive yesterday I'm thinking ill get it as i worked with her all wk. I keep getting a tickle un my chest that makes me want to cough.
