Very boring post. I have Covid. It's been 4 days if feeling incredibly unwell. High temperature chills nose throat the works. How long do most people find the symptoms go on for? I'm triple vaxxed

Also, the DCs are due their second jab soon and I don't want them to have it if they have just had covid as its against the guidelines. Hence, I need to know if colds are just that, or covid

scienceyesplease · 19/06/2022 22:40

@Blimeyherewegoagain I had left over NHS tests. They are expensive to buy in shops.

applecharlotte12 · 21/06/2022 06:25

I also had a spare box of nhs ones left over.

Day 8 - now totally well apart from weird taste in mouth! I felt sooo I'll 3 days ago, it's rather bizarre!!

How are you all?

Chevyimpala67 · 21/06/2022 08:03

I started coughing yesterday
Dry cough
High temp this morning
High heart rate
Really sore lower back
Worth phoning drs?

SpiderinaWingMirror · 21/06/2022 08:51

I'm on day 5 and have woken up feeling better (haven't got up yet though). I had a terrible sore throat from Saturday to now. Never had anything approaching it before. Now cough is developing. Thank god for vaccines, can't imagine what it would be like without.
No sick pay for me so will be wfh from tomorrow

adhdforme · 21/06/2022 09:13

I'm unvaccinated as is everyone in my house. We all had it and were fine. I had a rash for a day but that's it. No other symptoms and we were all fine. Tested negative after 5 days.

scienceyesplease · 21/06/2022 10:43

Day 9 - feeling much better. Still a bit of a sore chest but not as painful as it used to be.

LoveBeingAMum555 · 22/06/2022 07:13

Day 9 for me, went into work yesterday and think it was a mistake as I felt dreadful when I came home. Really suffering with catarrh and sinus problems which is giving me a permanent headache.

Test yesterday showed the faintest line, but you had to really look to see it. Going to WFH again today but not doing a full day, my gut instinct is that I need to take it easy and I dont really care what anyone at work thinks. I cant remember the last time I was actually off sick.

Hope everyone else is on the mend.

A doctor won't see you F2F when you have covid symptoms.

They'll advise you to take a test, and to treat symptoms (paracetamol, cough mixture etc) and if you feel you are not coping at home to ring 111, who should be able to steer you to the places locally where covid patients (and those with symptoms but unknown covid status) can be seen. That can include a 'virtual covid ward' when you do the obs and someone rings at intervals to check on you.

Do you have an oximeter?

sassafras123 · 22/06/2022 09:14

Day 3 here. After a good sleep thought I felt very slightly better. Have just got up done a couple of chores and my head is exploding and feel nauseous off to bed I go. I think the headache is the worst. Dreading when hubby gets it.

UndertheEagle · 22/06/2022 17:10

I've tested negative today for the first time. I feel so much better. Just a bit snotty and tired. My DIL is still really unwell though. It's not been at all pleasant

ToooOldForThis · 22/06/2022 22:01

I'm on 9 day now, went back to work yesterday and was REALLY shaky, better today.
Fatigue in waves but not constant and cold symptoms really gone, but now I feel quite nauseous! It's really shite. Hope everyone is picking up a bit

LoveBeingAMum555 · 23/06/2022 20:38

I have actually started to feel almost human today, 10 days after I first started with symptoms. I still have a lot of catarrh and my sinuses are still a bit sore, but it's improving. I think I will be in bed early tonight but fingers crossed I continue on this path.

ivfbabymomma1 · 25/06/2022 18:09

I had it horribly for 5 days and then suddenly on day 6 I woke up fine?! Very bizarre but hopefully the same happens to you!! And I was really really poorly for that 5 days!

TempNameChangexx · 25/06/2022 18:21

I caught it 3 weeks ago
Still knackered, although the sore throat and cough has mostly gone now

LoveBeingAMum555 · 25/06/2022 22:18

@ivfbabymomma1 same here, I still have a bit of catarrh but woke up on day 11 feeling absolutely fine. Everyone talks about lingering fatigue but I just haven't had that, although like you I was really poorly for about 6 days. Weird.

ivfbabymomma1 · 26/06/2022 07:16

@LoveBeingAMum555 weird isn't it?? I've had no lasting effects with! From day 6 onwards it has been like nothing ever happened! I tested negative day 7 I think!

chimichangaz · 27/06/2022 19:51

It's now 3 weeks since I tested positive and I have it on my chest still. I've noticed I get very tired - exhausted. I find if I do things that previously would have been normal like housework at the end of a working day, or an afternoon shopping, it proper knackers me out. Currently in bed trying to keep my eyes open for a bit longer....

anotherbrewplease · 28/06/2022 05:46

Hi all - joining the Covd thread. I've managed to avoid getting it since 2020 but here we are. My DH had it over the weekend, but is fully recovered. My DS of 23 years old tested positive, but has a sore throat only, and is still managing to consume his usual amounts of crisps etc (!)

I've had it since yesterday and feel absolutely ghastly - can drink tea and water and that's been it. I was sick during the night, and aching a lot. Taking regular paracetemol which does help.

We're all jabbed - me and DH have had the booster also - very glad we've at least had that.
