Very boring post. I have Covid. It's been 4 days if feeling incredibly unwell. High temperature chills nose throat the works. How long do most people find the symptoms go on for? I'm triple vaxxed

I tested positive last Monday, first time for me. Faint line then, much much stronger on Thursday and faint again today (but stronger than Monday).

Had a sore throat, cold symptoms (cough, catarrh), felt dizzy, brain fog, tiredness. Although I wfh I've not worked since last Monday, was thinking I'd be back tomorrow but have been overwhelmed with tiredness today, and still feeling ill. Oh and I've had a loose tummy too - and on Monday my arm (I have a rotator cuff injury) was absolutely killing me.

I will feel like I'm on the mend and do stuff (cleaning etc) then feel like crap again. Thank god I'm vaxxed.

I heard covid attacks your weak points, which for me are tummy (ulcerative colitis), shoulder and ears (dizziness?).

Pieceofpurplesky · 13/06/2022 00:12

First time covid. On day 6. Started off so dizzy, sweating, freezing, fever. Then day 3 the throat started and I have never known such throat pain (and I have had tonsillitis many times). Day 6 throat still sore but can now swallow. Cough, cold, aches and exhausted. Could barely get out of bed days 3/4/5

Deadivy · 13/06/2022 10:44

Day 6 for me. Yesterday felt amazing, like it had completely gone! Worse symptom has been the most painful sore throat I've ever had. Had a very mild headache & cough, low fever, back pain and a bit of burning in my stomach.

Today I feel rubbish all over again, my body feels so heavy.

Pieceofpurplesky · 13/06/2022 13:47

Today I can't stay awake and am supposed to return to work tomorrow.

Summerwhereareyou · 14/06/2022 07:42

Chimi how interesting that it affects weak points!f that's also my shoulder!
I also suddenly feel ok and start to do some washing or something and then I feel totally wiped out.

chimichangaz · 14/06/2022 13:44

@Summerwhereareyou that's not based on any scientific evidence I've seen, but from a friend who works in the NHS. Certainly fits my experience!

Nothingoriginalhere · 15/06/2022 16:42

Day 7 for me now, still feeling rubbish and a very strong positive lateral flow. also and not covid's fault but i broke my phone yesterday and pretty much cried as that just topped off the week! Actually I'm just going to blame bloody Covid for that too!

UndertheEagle · 15/06/2022 16:52

I'm on about day 6 or 7, not entirely sure. Husband now has it as well. Obviously he's far worse than me!
I feel bloody awful. Stonking headache, catarrh and hacking cough that is making me feel sick. The heat really isn't helping.
My 8 month old granddaughter has it as well (and DIL). Poor granddaughter has now developed conjunctivitis with it and her eyes keep sticking together. Poor little scrap looks awful.

chimichangaz · 15/06/2022 17:32

I'm on day 10. Still got a (faint) positive but I feel like shit. Bunged up, headachey- when will this stop?!!!

DisgruntledPelican · 15/06/2022 19:56

Day 3 here. Had a cough on Monday like something was caught in my throat, and within a few hours was feverish, sneezing, headachey, raw throat, sinus pain, aches and tiredness. Very strong line on LFT. Everyone I spent Sunday with continues to test negative!

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost22 · 15/06/2022 20:04

Can I join? Day 3/4 here (4 days since symptoms started but 3 since positive test)
Cough and sore throat have gone but feel like I have been hit by a bus. Hoping today was the peak as haven’t been able to get out of bed for 2 days. It’s as bad as my first run in in March 2020 to be honest but hoping with the vaccines, it might not last as long (12 days in bed then!)

Barrawarra · 15/06/2022 21:06

Day 10 here and still feeling rubbish, ups and downs of energy and lots of catarrh and congestion. Can I ask are folk reporting results to nhs? I haven’t done that and wondering if I should, I haven’t reported any results before so don’t know what you’re meant to do, or if that’s not a thing now.

lurchermummy · 15/06/2022 21:13

Yes took me 2 full weeks and within that one week of feeling really bloody awful - don't rush it. I did find that electrolyte tablets (Zero from Amazon) helped a lot.

Crikeyalmighty · 15/06/2022 21:30

Had this in Feb My only symptoms were a blinding headache and a bit of a sore throat but absolutely dreadful fatigue- just putting a wash on and inhad to sit down for an hour , all symptoms gone after 6 days apart from the fatigue, tested positive for 9 days- - fatigue though was really bad for 2 weeks and I've felt knackered since but have managed to do an international move back to uk - god knows how

I feel exactly the same. I'm thinking maybe I didn't rest enough and went back to work (wfh) too early.

I reported my results as I still had NHS tests. If you've bought yours I don't think you can report.

I saw my neighbour today and told him I had had covid. He was gobsmacked as he thought it had all gone away now.....

Gakatsbsk · 15/06/2022 23:44

I also have covid. Symptoms developed yesterday. Absolutely vile - temp of 39-40, chills + aches, headache, D+ V, sore throat like swallowing glass.

I’m triple vaccinated and have already had it once (v mild) so I’m sure this must be a new strain.

Haven't left bed except to crawl to the bathroom in two days. Sickest I’ve felt in a long while.

RadioRouge · 15/06/2022 23:44

One of the family members we spent the weekend with has just tested positive, and I am seriously dreading having covid again. It's been a bit different each time but the fatigue takes so long to get back to normal from. It's rotten for the children too. They are hardly ever ill usually.

Gakatsbsk · 15/06/2022 23:48

I work for the nhs so my positive test will be reported via my work

deedledeedledum · 16/06/2022 07:10

So here I am still feeling a bit rubbish. Voice sounds mental. Exhausted. Still having slight temperature fluctuations. Able to go out and di what's needed but it's quite debilitating. Weird thing I had for days was diarrhoea every evening for a couple of hours for days. No other time. And my body clock out. I find it hard to get to sleep at night and can't nap during the day as I feel wired. But once asleep I feel ok. I thought it would be 4-5 days but I think it will be a full 2 weeks before I feel decent and from what I read, exhaustion may go in longer.

Catching the new virus to avoid catching the new virus never made any sense to me in the first place, but it's even worse if you catch the virus and can catch it again almost immediately.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost22 · 16/06/2022 08:16

Day 4 (5 since symptoms started) and still feeling bloody awful. No cough or sore throat now but shivery and shaky. Thank god for co-codamol to be honest! Hoping I am moving through the peak of it!! Day 3 in bed! Am super hungry though which is weird!

Snowdropsarelovely · 16/06/2022 08:24

My teenager who is hardly ever ill has it at the moment and is feeling absolutely dreadful- Exhausted, headache, achy, coughing, very runny nose. I had it a couple of months ago with very few symptoms

averythinline · 16/06/2022 08:24

Day 12 since positive test, now snotty as well as tired...although not so tired ...chest sore but not tight ...run out of tests... cant believe i believed the its really mild variety hype .never had a cold thats lingered like this

bluesky45 · 16/06/2022 08:32

Had it in may. Really ill for 24hrs. Then a cold for 2 days. Then my voice went for a few days but otherwise felt fine. Negative test on day 6 I think
