Very boring post. I have Covid. It's been 4 days if feeling incredibly unwell. High temperature chills nose throat the works. How long do most people find the symptoms go on for? I'm triple vaxxed

I have it for the first time and feel like I’ve got raging indigestion. Does anyone else have that feeling?

Nothingoriginalhere · 12/06/2022 17:03

I'm part of a data collection programme so I know every fortnight what my antibodies levels are like. Mine are in them 'very high' range. I do wonder if the new variants are not so well protected from

Oh I forgot - we are in the ONS study and bloods just 4 weeks ago showed my antibodies to be in the “very high” range too - am guessing I must have a different variant as it’s different from when DH had it in March.

Day 9 here still waking up knackered low lying headache and chest now sore and coughing phlegm....thought id be feeling better by now....

Toffeewhirl · 12/06/2022 17:07

I had my first symptom (sore throat) on Thursday. Felt properly unwell on Friday and tested positive yesterday. Feeling lousy. Aching, really sore throat, exhausted and everything tastes like cardboard. DH has the same symptoms, but his chest is worse.

My main concern, though, is that DS2 has caught it, even though DH and I self isolated. He's really underweight because he has an eating disorder (ARFID). Am encouraging him to eat lots of Ben&Jerry's ice cream to keep his calorie intake up.

ivfbabymomma1 · 12/06/2022 17:07

I felt I'll for about 5-7 days but then day 7 I just woke up like nothing had happened! Feel better OP! Hopefully it goes as quick as it comes!!

Barrawarra · 12/06/2022 17:10

Day 8 here, feeling exhausted, but youngest was up last night so that’s played a part. Lost smell very suddenly on day 5, when I was over the worst of fevery achy bit, and that’s bothering me, so weird and sounds like it could last a while. Feel ya with the thought of it stretching ahead. I had it at the start in March 2020 and this is similar in that respect, keep thinking that I am much better then feeling totally wiped out, very up and down. No breathing issues this time like I had first time.

deedledeedledum · 12/06/2022 17:12

@Nothingoriginalhere the last finger prick freaking hurt!!! I must have cut a nerve or something. It's been 2-3 weeks and the site STILL hurts when I press it 😂 not sure if I'm going to do the bloods anymore!!

Day 5 here. The only symptom I had at first was that I was off my food and had a craving for sweet drinks. I usually drink tea or coffee but wanted cold sweet drinks.

After a few days had slight hoarse voice and a bit tired. But nothing else. I am eating now but do wonder if I have slightly lost sense of taste as craving strong tasting things and still wanting sweet drinks.

I think I must have a mild dose as have only tested positive on pcr not lft

grapewines · 12/06/2022 17:16

I'm two months in with fatigue and cough. Hope you're better sooner than that.

bigbluebus · 12/06/2022 17:24

I tested positive this morning although I had a temperature of 39.1 yesterday and couldn't get warm (negative test yesterday). Adult DS has also tested positive today and has a bit of a snuffle. DH tested positive last Thursday and has a cough but otherwise well.

Blueskythinking123 · 12/06/2022 17:38

I'm currently on day three, feeling rough. Similar symptoms to flu with an awful taste in my mouth and upset tummy.

Livpool · 12/06/2022 17:59

Day 7 here and had 2 negative tests today and yesterday. I started to feel better on day 3 and on day 5 I was given the IV dose to help as I am ECV.

Tiredness has been the worst thing for me and I have needed a sleep every day. I wfh and hoping to log back on tomorrow

firef1y · 12/06/2022 18:17

As 2/4 of the households got a positive test I'm assuming I had it too despite consistently testing negative.

Day 1 : thought my hayfever had gone crazy, stuffy nose lots of sneezing. Didn't enjoy my alcoholic drink.

Day 2-3 : stuffy nose, hayfever had miraculously vanished and I felt good (which is why I didn't query the negative test)

Day 4-5 : hayfever back, gross taste in mouth, tiring really easy (fine while doing an activity but as soon as I stopped I needed to sleep), some brain fog

Day 6-7 : more of days 4-5 with the added irritation of lots of mucus and an irritating cough

Day 8 onwards : improving every day, periods of brain fog and tiredness become less frequent. Taste still in mouth but either I'm getting used to it or it's starting to recede. Irritating cough still there, seems to be of a post nasal drip type. Occasional bouts of exhaustion but nothing to stop me doing what I normally would (just with a lot of distance between myself and anybody else). Can still run, albeit slightly slower, can still lift weights.

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 20:36

I'm day 3 and hopefully this is it.
Strangely dizzy, like rocking boat, sinuses weird.... strange smell and taste but not overly so.
When I first had it it was like a burning smell and my nose really fizzed with this virus
Shortly after I lost my taste and smell.

This is different, I felt extremely fatigued, aching legs kidneys, lower back, then very tired and strange around nose and sinus.

How is this virus benefiting from me !
Headache, uncomfortable hard to concentrate and focus.

LadySpratt · 12/06/2022 21:12

On day 11 of symptoms (positive LFT on day 7 - the T line developed before the liquid had reached the C line! 😳).

Main symptoms were tiredness and fevers at the start. Then taste and smell went on day 5 and are now returning. Fevers stopped two days ago. But it’s the tiredness; I keep on falling asleep in the afternoon.

Also triple vaccinated and worked at the coal face throughout without getting it once.
Caught it at the gym in an exercise class. The irony!

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 21:17

@CaptSkippy

Why are the new varieties concerning please

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 21:17

Lady I have been working at a coal face also, not as intense as NHS however.
My last vaccine was December.

CaptSkippy · 12/06/2022 21:19

Summerwhereareyou · 12/06/2022 21:17

@CaptSkippy

I haven't heard any of the details, just they researchers think they are becoming the dominant forms now and they don't yet know what that means. COVID is a nasty virus. It is highly contagious and seems to make you sick, even if you've had vaccines. Although I suppose that unvaccinated it could be way worse.

CatholicMind · 12/06/2022 21:28

Day five here. I’ve had a fever in the evening but it’s my throat that’s really killing me - all the time - swallowing razor blades would be easier, not really tired either.

Neverendingdust · 12/06/2022 21:32

A friend has it at the moment and she said it’s horrendous, she’s triple Vaxxed and already had it a few times before. Also know of a few others with it so I’m guessing we’re in yet another wave. I’m considering wearing a mask again…

loulouljh · 12/06/2022 21:34

Unvaxxed. Had it. Felt tired with a headache.

woodhill · 12/06/2022 21:36

I felt terrible for 2 weeks

MbwaKali · 12/06/2022 16:55

I have it for the first time and feel like I’ve got raging indigestion. Does anyone else have that feeling?

I had a burning under my rib cage and stomach problems when I had it. It was awful

lightand · 12/06/2022 21:41

Someone I know - day 12. Seems to start feeling better and then not again. Sleep is all over the place. Different symptom each day. Today's is a sore throat.

pepperaunt · 12/06/2022 23:44

Just tested positive. Thought it was allergies. Have had 4 vaccines, the last almost 6 months ago (CV), and Covid in March. Symptoms so far are sinus headache and sneezing. Took me 12 days to test negative last time.
