Very boring post. I have Covid. It's been 4 days if feeling incredibly unwell. High temperature chills nose throat the works. How long do most people find the symptoms go on for? I'm triple vaxxed

OP posts:

Me too, triple vaccinated luckily, this is my second bout of covid. The first one put me in hospital.

This time I feel awful, and very tired, just getting dressed is knackering. I’m on day four since feeling ill/testing positive. I am feeling much better today. I do have a very sore throat today, thats new.

applecharlotte12 · 16/06/2022 09:23

I mean, this is just so boring now! Fuck off Covid.

Wanted to join as started with similar symptoms to what a lot of you are sharing on Monday. I can't believe how SHIT I feel! My throat is so fucking painful. In the past, when I've had tonsillitis (also prone to throat things so def a weak area for me) I would just sleep through the pain but with this, I have insomnia at night and can't seem to nap through the day. Feels like torture. Also triple vaxxed.

Hope some of you are on the mend and those having to go to work today💐

pepperaunt · 16/06/2022 09:37

Day 5 for me. Had it less than 3 months ago (first time) and CV so quadruple vaxxed. Horrible sinus headache like last time, 2 days of bitter taste in mouth (it was a metallic taste last time), cattarh, periodic cough. Like PP I have Ulcerative Colitis and it seems to have honed in on my digestive system!

Cantonet · 16/06/2022 10:39

Day 6 - nausea, back ache, heavy head & nasty taste in mouth.
I'm fascinated by the progression of random symptoms with this.

I’m living in our camper van so I don’t pass it on to my family, my husband is loving the regular updates. One thing I have, may be covid, maybe not is excess poo. The poo itself is completely normal, I’m juat doing loads of it all the time, I think it may be multiplying inside of me.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost22 · 16/06/2022 12:03

You are right though OP, it’s bloody grim! I am a fit healthy vaxxed 49 year old and it’s floored me - day 3 in bed!

RadioRouge · 16/06/2022 12:24

I'm on my way to pick up my youngest from school because he's not feeling well, he's hot, got a lump in his throat and is losing his voice. I'll test him once we're back home because that's how he was with covid the first two times. This is the third time in less than a year. He's only been ill four times ever. Never had the flu. What a week to be running a temperature. Sad

Deadivy · 16/06/2022 12:33

Tested neg last night on day 7 and neg this morning. However this morning's test now has a very light pos. First day back at work too (WFH) and feel worse than I have for days and the back ache has returned. I guess it's because I'm not just lying down all day. Doesn't help that it's 36°c outside (live in Italy), due to get hotter & I don't have aircon.

gamerchick · 16/06/2022 12:34

No way of knowing, it doesn't seem to follow a set pattern from person to person.

What I did find interesting though is it cured temporarily my kids mega sensitive-needs to be medicated bladder for about 3 months. I thought it had fixed him.

Werid bug it is.

Day 4 (5 since symptoms started) and still feeling bloody awful. No cough or sore throat now but shivery and shaky. Thank god for co-codamol to be honest! Hoping I am moving through the peak of it!! Day 3 in bed! Am super hungry though which is weird!

I'm glad it's not just me that's super hungry. My husband thinks I'm weird. He can't eat at all.
Both still feel awful (day 7 ish). Can't stop coughing and headache. DIL has it and has lost her voice.

ToooOldForThis · 16/06/2022 16:49

Joining you from what feels like my deathbedGrin
Officially this is the first time I've had it...fatigue for a few days, then heavy head cold for 2 days. I tested when I started coughing after those first 2 days and got such a strong, dark positive line which appeared instantly!
Really fed up and very worried about return to work on Monday.
Is anyone finding anything that is helpful?

ihatethecold · 16/06/2022 17:28

I’ve just tested positive after 3 negative tests last week.
I think I know the point that my body realised it was Ill.
I was in a restaurant and needed the loo all of a sudden.
really urgently.
I ended up doing the fastest walk back to my hotel.
I remember saying how hot I was in the restaurant and I was very quiet with my family.
I thought it was just tiredness and my social battery had run out!
im also feeling wired when I’m going to sleep
I only tested today because I had a very momentary bought
of dizziness.

spanishsummers · 16/06/2022 17:35

You poor thing. I read that there is a new variant around which making people more unwell.

greenshirt06 · 16/06/2022 17:44

Day 7 here. Extreme fatigue (one wash load and done), my head feels fluffy and shoulder/ neckache in full force. Competely lost taste and smell for 3-4 days.. still can't smell or taste much but it's slowly starting to come back which is promising. I'm triple vaxxed & 31 and haven't been this ill in years! Terrified of long covid so not pushing it & will probs go back to work on Monday. Day nurse & ibuprofen really helped me.

Cantonet · 16/06/2022 18:05

Night Nurse really helps reduce the chills & sweats and helps you get a decent night's sleep. Also Ibuprofen if you're still eating and aren't nauseous.

Gakatsbsk · 16/06/2022 21:37

On to day 3. Feel better but v sore throat, Diarrhoea, annoying cough and fatigue remain. No fever today

chimichangaz · 16/06/2022 22:13

Well this is weird. I was still testing positive yesterday (day 10), felt ok in the morning then absolutely bloody dreadful in the afternoon and evening. Really overwhelming tiredness, and feeling just, well, ill! Didn't stop me eating my dinner though

Went to bed reasonably early, slept really well and woke up feeling so much better. I've been to the chemist for something for the catarrh as I'm sure that is making me feel ill but I honestly feel like a new woman just now. Praying it lasts. I still had a bout of tiredness this afternoon but managed to overcome it.

I'm just going to read the links that pp posted - thanks all.

User3456 · 16/06/2022 22:35

Hope you feel better soon OP. And everyone else with it. I am still trying to avoid it, wearing a mask etc but with DS in school I fear it's only a matter of time til he brings it home again. He had it last July - before he could be vaccinated though and obvs a different strain (I assume Delta). He was pretty ill for about 4 days (high temp/high heart rate) and then just lacking energy/low appetite for a few weeks.

Rest up and don't try to push through, rest is the best thing you can do to avoid long covid.

Neverendingdust · 16/06/2022 22:42

Negative LFTs but my throat is painful- I’ve been sneezing a lot this evening and the pain from sneezes is horrid. I have a habit of holding sneezes in (far more civilised) which Dr Google says isn’t a good thing so I’m going to be one of those annoying super loud sneezers. Colleague tested positive at the weekend after I’d worked two days with her 😑

Hoping it’s just allergies as she’s been really poorly with it this time (think it’s her 3rd or 4th infection and she’s triple vaxxed) she had a nasty lingering sore throat which she lost her voice with the week before, the Dr diagnosed as laryngitis? But Covid has just repeated the same symptoms apparently….

Summerwhereareyou · 16/06/2022 23:03

Strange, my symptoms also match others. What I found sinister was,it did seem to go to my chest a little, but not nociably.
Also strange mouth taste and neck and shoulder pain.
How utterly depressing that this won't provide any immunity

applecharlotte12 · 17/06/2022 06:36

Day 4 - can't sleep at night or nap during the day despite feeling exhausted! Going to send DH out for night nurse as soon as he's up. My throat is agony in the mornings and I'm alternating paracetamol with ibuprofen even through the night to keep on top of the pain. The taste and smell this is weird. I had covid in Mar 2020 and lost my taste and smell completely. This time everything is just smelling/tasting different - more metallic and bitter.

How's everyone else doing? I'm finding it interesting to read your symptoms, it does seem random and constantly changing each day. Get well soon all.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost22 · 17/06/2022 07:55

Morning- day 5 (6 with symptoms) here and feeling much better. Had a negative test last nt but positive again this morning 🤷🏻‍♀️ Main symptoms this morning are really weird sinus issues- I feel like i have been inhaling chlorine and feeling really really hungry! @applecharlotte12 I have had the same sleep thing- feeling almost wired in the day but also exhausted. Can’t focus on anything. God its weird!

ToooOldForThis · 17/06/2022 07:57

Is anyone else due back to work soon? I'm really starting to worry about it.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost22 · 17/06/2022 08:35

@ToooOldForThis yes on Monday! But WFH I think so I can rest a bit but I think I am lucky to be able to do that

themusicmum · 17/06/2022 08:44

It took me 3 weeks. I hope you are better soon.
