Very boring post. I have Covid. It's been 4 days if feeling incredibly unwell. High temperature chills nose throat the works. How long do most people find the symptoms go on for? I'm triple vaxxed

Well I still feel rough and I look an absolute state but I’m testing positive, so I can escape the camper and get back to normal.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost22 · 17/06/2022 08:35

@ToooOldForThis yes on Monday! But WFH I think so I can rest a bit but I think I am lucky to be able to do that

I'm Monday too but I work in a school...really worried about it now. Although I know a couple of days can make a big difference

ihatethecold · 17/06/2022 12:35

Does anyone know if we can work out what strain we have by the symptoms?

I realise whilst writing this that the question is daft!! 😂

Gingermoth · 17/06/2022 13:34

I'm on day 5 and most food tastes and smells of sour vinegar. Anyone have this?

Nothing tastes of anything 😩 I had a meal booked for next week that I was really looking forward to, but I’m not rebooking until taste has returned.

Summerwhereareyou · 17/06/2022 18:11

I feel so much better today and after a negative test I went back to work.

Summerwhereareyou · 17/06/2022 18:11

One thing I retained ( unfortunately) was a healthy appetite!

User0610134049 · 17/06/2022 18:14

I know so many people with it at the moment!

I'm on day 9 and everything tastes of phlegm. It's very unpleasant and if this turns out to be permanent I don't know what I'll do. I love food, and I still love the thought of food. Then I eat it, and it tastes of phlegm. It's supposed to be tasteless, not actually unpleasant!

applecharlotte12 · 18/06/2022 10:59

@Onceinawhileuser yes! That's exactly it - phlegm taste... delightful!

I feel a bit better today (day 5) still very painful throat tho. Glad some of you are recovering and feeling well.

Cantonet · 18/06/2022 11:36

Day 8 & I can't taste eggs.
I'm a bit sad given that it's been my comfort food for the last few days and i felt much better yesterday. Yes, I've also got the chlorine in my sinus's affect and still testing +.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost22 · 18/06/2022 14:45

I’ve tested neg this morning but still got the chlorine nose/ throat thing and what feels like sinusitis- awful headache. Very tired still too- god it’s a weird virus 🤷🏻‍♀️

UndertheEagle · 18/06/2022 17:40

I've been ill for about 8 days. I still feel rough. Started to feel really sick. Just done a test and I'm still positive.

MrsGrealish · 18/06/2022 17:42

It is grim. I'm triple vaccinated and it was very painful

ToooOldForThis · 18/06/2022 19:00

Waaaah these posts are panicking me a little. What are people doing about work?

LoveBeingAMum555 · 18/06/2022 19:15

@ToooOldForThis I am worried about this too. I am on day 5 and starting to feel a tiny bit better but the catarrh is awful and my concentration is non existent. I was hoping to be able to work on Monday, I work for a very small company and no-one can cover my work so it's just piling up.

ihatethecold · 18/06/2022 19:32

I work from home as a counsellor so all my clients have gone into zoom.
I am feeling tired though, and a bit fuzzy headed.
got a whole day off tomorrow from work. 🥳

Workinghardeveryday · 18/06/2022 19:39

A pp said we were in a new wave, I hadn’t heard about it. Are we?!

chimichangaz · 19/06/2022 08:59

BBC news is reporting that infections are up
Covid infections up after Platinum Jubilee celebrations https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-61839777

(Hope the links work!)

chimichangaz · 19/06/2022 09:03

It's amazing the number of people I speak to that don't realise how much covid is still circulating. They think because the messaging has gone away, so has covid!

I'm now 14 days since first positive test, and much improved (negative test yesterday- last positive test on weds). Brain fog has mostly gone, no dizziness. However I'm still easily tired and have a cough, with catarrh and a tight chest. Taking medicine for that. Currently scaring myself by reading about people with long covid and really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones!

Workinghardeveryday · 19/06/2022 09:21

@chimichangaz thanks for the link!

sorry you are feeling poorly, I am sure you will be fine. Took me a good month to feel normal again, such a strange illness x

scienceyesplease · 19/06/2022 18:25

This thread is very reassuring with all the strange symptoms. I'm glad I'm not the only one presenting with odd symptoms. I'm on day 7 now and just had nausea as a new symptom. Will this ever end?!

Emsmaman · 19/06/2022 21:35

My first symptom was rash for several days before any other "typical" symptoms. About a week in now and hoping to be able to work (from home) tomorrow.

Blimeyherewegoagain · 19/06/2022 21:50

How are people getting tested to know they have it?
Im getting over a cold, at least that what I assumed but we’ve no tests so 🤷‍♀️.

Emsmaman · 19/06/2022 22:10

I still had some NHS lateral flow tests left over so used them. I thought they were relatively cheap to buy from boots etc. now too. I still want to know in case we are offered boosters or testing for travel comes back.
