Let her decide. She's 14

Scianel · 04/04/2022 14:52

You can't punish your fourteen year old for exercising bodily autonomy, that's quite a disturbing suggestion.

You claimed (now deleted) that Bill Gates, the WHO and the NHS were all conspiring to force vaccines on people when they aren't needed @Uptohighdoh

(I'm assuming you're the same poster as @Facebookshouldbecancelled)

I pointed out that it isn't just the NHS who are advising vaccination - health bodies globally are. This would have to involve hundreds of thousands of people conspiring together - how else would it work?

Her body, her choice.

There is enough worrying data from reputable sources suggesting a large enough number of people are suffering peculiar reactions post vaccines and boosters that it should be investigated and if people think it prudent to wait in the meantime then let them.

If you want to, look at my thread on here titled I have a situation. I was pretty neutral on the subject of the vaccines till my experience.

Now I wouldn't go near it with a barge pole, until final evidence as to its safety and efficacy is in.

Its her body, her choice. You cant blackmail her

Uptohighdoh · 04/04/2022 15:18

No it's you that doesn't realise, for the third time now I will repeat that hundreds of thousands of people do not need to be involved. You clearly have no comprehension of how the world really works so I'll just say good luck as it's futile to argue with those closed minded 👍

Explain it to me then?

As I have said, I don't think you realise the sheer scale of how many scientists and clinicians have been involved with research involving coronavirus and vaccine development. There are currently 154,934 original research papers on Pubmed on SARS-COV-2.

They are not blindly following, therefore the only alternative is that they are all conspiring.

axolotlfloof · 04/04/2022 15:36

@KosherDill

She's a child; it's not her decision to make. I'd remove privileges until she cooperates.

It's not just about her, it's a public health matter.

Can you explain what you think the public health risk is?
CoastalWave · 04/04/2022 18:53

And what happens if the vaccine causes her permanent damage? Are you then suggesting 'tough' because she was a child and she didn't get to make to make the choice?

(Before anyone says, yes, I know the risk of this is negligible - so is the risk of Covid for this age group)

CoastalWave · 04/04/2022 18:54

OH and OP why are earth are you forcing her to have more than 2 jabs ?

Scianel · 04/04/2022 21:49

It's not just about her, it's a public health matter

That might be true if these vaccines actually stopped transmission.

She's not. Her daughter was due to have the second vaccine, as recommended, and has changed her mind based on scaremongering about the Miami Open (i.e., lots of players have dropped out based on injury or illness, because they have been vaccinated in the last year people are claiming it must be due to this Hmm)

As many posters have said, she is at low risk of COVID, you shouldn't panic or make a big deal about it if she doesn't want to go ahead @clairclogg.

But ideally you should be helping her make an informed decision and help her understand how to critically assess claims on the internet.

woody87 · 04/04/2022 22:02

@TheMarvelousMrsMaisel

Why the fuck would you punish your child for not having a vaccine? Have you heard yourself?!

It's her choice. Nothing you can do about it. How would you feel if you forced her into it and she had a massive adverse reaction? Angry

Your teenage daughter should not be a topic of conversation on this forum in this regard.

You should not even be considering forcing her to take the 2nd jab. How could you? It is not a matter of life or death, it isn't a matter of social duty. It is simply her choice, no one else's, and the fact that you suggest to punish her is frightening. Supply her the information you know to be helpful and factual, and then whatever she decides should not come into question again. Our youngsters have had far too much to deal with, without being blackmailed into how many jabs their mother feels they should be having against their will.

Rebecca1305 · 06/04/2022 16:35

Let her make her own choice ! If she doesn’t want it then so be it ! Do not punish her poor girl.
