I thought they said omicron was mild?

Everyone i know said it was just like a cold.

So far i've had : dizzy spells, horrendous migrance, sinus pain, burning eyes, body aches, on/off nausea, bad stomach, tickly cough, pressure in nose, insomnia and general feeling like utter crap/anxious.

This isnt what everyone described where its just sniffles or a cough. People I have know have had it for a couple days with no symptons at all!

Have i got a different variant, has anyone else experienced these symptons with omricon?

ThirdElephant · 18/02/2022 00:38

I've no idea what variant I had but it was very mild. Some people do just get it worse though. Are you fully vaxxed and boosted?

Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:39

Oh forgot about shivers/chills and fever. This is crazy! Im started to doubt its omricon

OP posts:
MooseBeTimeForSnow · 18/02/2022 00:39

I think those are Delta symptoms?

Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:40

@ThirdElephant what was your symptons and how long for?

OP posts:
SplashinginPuddles1 · 18/02/2022 00:41

Well relatively speaking that is mild!

Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:42

@MooseBeTimeForSnow thats what I thought. I had family memebers that caught delta last yr and my symptons resemble theres more than anyone i've heard that has had omricon. I hope that is not the case as the delta variant was horrible for them

OP posts:
Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:42

@SplashinginPuddles1 for day 0 of testing positive i wouldnt consider that mild!

Wowwellokthen · 18/02/2022 00:43

I had covid about 3 weeks ago. Much more than just a cold...fever, headache, cough (still going), shivers/sweats, raw throat, so much snot, no sense of taste or smell (still absent). Triple vaxed.
I reckon it was delta or something other than omicron.

FairyLightQueen · 18/02/2022 00:45

I thought omicron makes up the vast majority of the cases at the moment? Surely delta is quite rare at this point?

Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:45

@Wowwellokthen its strange isnt it because i literally just read a thread on here that said 99% of cases in the uk are omricon. I hardly go anywhere and live in a rural area. What are the odds that i could of picked up delta! Wish there was a test that could tell you what you got. This defiently feels more like a flu than cold

OP posts:
FairyLightQueen · 18/02/2022 00:45

Also I hope you feel better soon OP, sounds rubbish

Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:47

@FairyLightQueen i thought that too. Everyone i've told that i have covid said ateast its a milder strain now but these symptons do not feel mild hence my confusion. Maybe its a new variant, mixture of delta/omricon, or delta is back on the rise again and they havent picked up on it

OP posts:
Einszwei · 18/02/2022 00:47

Mild means less deaths and hospitalizations - omicron can still make you feel utterly awful.

Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:48

@FairyLightQueen thank you for the well wishes. My 1 yr old has it as well hoping dc wont get it as bad as me

OP posts:
Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:50

@Einszwei its just that i've read about other peoples symptons on here and also know lots of people that have it/have had it irl and no one seems to share my symptons. Thats why ive started this thread

My boss has covid at the moment, triple jabbed, normally very healthy, still testing positive a week later. He looks and sounds absolutely dreadful (I’m seeing him onscreen not in real life of course). Admittedly he might get better quicker if he took some time off sick…

Feel better soon, it can clearly be horrid.

Blueuggboots · 18/02/2022 00:55

I'm triple jabbed but caught covid from my son. He was ill for 48 hours. Me and my partner were ill for a week!
Dizzy spells, massive fatigue, aching limbs, nausea, scratchy throat, cough, blocked nose/ears, high temperature.
Felt like absolute shit. Struggled to even get out of bed for 4 days.
Not mild! Not a sniffle. Haven't felt that unwell in years.

Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:55

@tunnocksreturns2019 i guess i just got tied until a false sense of security thinking that it was just cold like as everyone around me said. No one really described it as being pretty crappy. I think alot of people are oved looking that.
Thanks for the well wishes, hope your boss makes a speedy recovery (and maybe takes some well needed days off)

Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:57

OP posts:
Jestal · 18/02/2022 00:58

That is mild. Mild roughly means treatable at home with paracetamol and bedrest.

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 18/02/2022 01:02

In the context of Covid, mild means it won't usually mean you'll end up needing hospitalisation needing oxygen or on a ventilator. It doesn't mean it's just the sniffles.

I hole you feel better soon Flowers

Jestal · 18/02/2022 01:02

@Shuffletime as i said alot of people i know that had omricon in person only jad runny noses or coughs and it didnt last too long. So i was not expecting to be hit quite so hard with it so early in!

Sorry to hear you feel so ill.

It makes me mad when I hear that Omicron is mild as it definitely wasn’t for me!

I’m still ill now after testing positive before Christmas and it’s looking like long covid 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m trying every vitamin, supplement, diet etc I can find to provide some relief but so far nothing.

I’ve also not been able to return to work which isn’t great financially so Omicron has turned into a bit of a nightmare and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

I was also fully vaccinated too and very careful but caught it from my son who brought it home from school.
