Boyfriend announced he’s an anti vaxxer

Gonnagetgoing · 15/02/2022 21:27

So been seeing someone since November and he dropped the bombshell that he’s an anti vaxxer.

I’ve had both vaccines plus booster as it’s the right thing to do.

Are we doomed or should I get over this?

OP posts:
Myalternate · 15/02/2022 23:30

Maybe he's scared of the jab and is just using the excuse of being anti Vax.🤔

MarbleQueen · 15/02/2022 23:36

You’re really going for the dramatic approach here aren’t you op. Bombshells, doomed antivaxer bollocks.

I think what actually happened is it came up in convo that he chose not to have it like lots of other people.

Pallisers · 15/02/2022 23:37

it depends on what matters to you.

I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with anyone on the entire spectrum of anti-covid vax (someone anti vaccinations generally is absolutely out) - even the minor end as described by sunnytwobridges above - I couldn't be dealing with someone refusing the vaccine because of how fast the vaccine was made available and long term testing etc. even if that seems ok to someone else. But that's me. I might also decide against someone for reasons other people might think are stupid - all part of dating's rich tapestry.

What do you think OP?

RedToothBrush · 15/02/2022 23:39

I'd respect his right to a different opinion.

Then asset my right not to date a plank.

Hth.

@jadey1991

Tbf I think more science needs to be done around the covid vaccinations before I think about putting it in my body. There isn't enough information. Tbh it takes 10years of research for a vaccination to be approved whereas the covid I believe( don't quote me) had less the 1 year of research done.
Stop spreading nonsense about something so important that you clearly understand Jack shit about.
MyBoysHaveDogsNames · 15/02/2022 23:43

Is he a tennis player?

That's your choice to make, he has made his.
Bakewelltart987 · 15/02/2022 23:57

Do you mean he doesn't want a vaccine that has appeared very quickly with very little investigation of any long lasting side effects like the covid vaccine? Or do you mean they are anti vax as in they will never get there dc there routine vaccine they are completely against any vaccine whatsoever.

Thoosa · 15/02/2022 23:59

Strange that OP hasn’t been back at all.

Bakewelltart987 · 16/02/2022 00:00

How is it nonsense? Can you tell us there are no long lasting side effects? Erm no you can't!! Well unless you have a time machine and have travelled into the future that is.

The drug companies don't help with this attitude when they try to hide all the data on the drugs for seventy five years, and a judge has to tell them to big right off
Hydrate · 16/02/2022 00:06

He'd be my ex boyfriend.

Yawn.....

@FantasticFebruary I'm not spreading jack shit/ nonsense. I'm saying what I'm saying. You may be a believer in what has been said but I have my own opinion. If you really wanna get into something then just say.

What part is nonsense

jadey1991 · 16/02/2022 00:42

@MarbleQueen is this question for me or @FantasticFebruary who actually said I was talking nonsense

SelkieQualia · 16/02/2022 00:47

It would demonstrate an inability to understand pretty basic science and risk, so it would be quite a turn off for me.

MarbleQueen · 16/02/2022 01:35

It was for fantasticfebruary Jadey.

Ffs Selkie what are you on about with inability to understand basic science and risk?

This vaccine was dished out to millions of people before they realised it can cause heart problems. Some Scientists had raised concerns about this possibility and were not listened to. Do you think it’s inconceivable that they might discover further issues later down the line?

The heart problems were not noted during trials because they did not do d dimer tests.

Some people do understand risks and they’ve decided they don’t want to risk heart problems to avoid what is to most people a mild illness, despite what the press have shoved down our throats for 2;years.

jadey1991 · 16/02/2022 01:47

@MarbleQueen thankfully at least you have some sense.

My dad has a heart condition and has suffered 3 heart attacks. He has been double jabbed and has suffered more since getting covid jab. He has had "covid" a few times now and has Felt like shit. The jab doesn't protect you like they say it does. Where is the science being the jab?

People are still spouting this utter drivel after nearly 18 months? I despair. If your new bloke is saying anything like this poster I'd leave him immediately cos it would totally do my head in tbh.

This! I'd be wondering what stupid thing he'd come out with next

Well I'm convinced. Your reckons and anecdata are so much more convincing than people with actual qualifications!

Did the OP drop a shit grenade then bugger off? Quelle surprise.

TheSongAboutMe · 16/02/2022 02:23

It depends what you mean by anti vax. The term seems to be used for someone who is 25, healthy and doesn’t feel they need the vaccine to the people who are in full conspiracy mode. I’d be fine with the former, not the latter. You can choose who you do or do not date for any reason, choosing a partner is something only you can do.

I wouldn’t date anyone who asked a forum if they should date me. 😂

Coyoacan · 16/02/2022 02:37

I don't quite understand the importance of this. Can you not accept being with someone who has a different opinion from yourself?
