Have you all had a booster jab?

I’ve had two vaccines but no booster.
Are there a lot of us around?
Are more boosters expected to be rolled out? Or is that it now?

Fair point @Fluffycloudland77
I should have said 'covid has mutated to become milder'.

Comefromaway · 11/02/2022 14:59

Boosted

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/02/2022 14:59

Then there’s HPV linked cervical and penis cancers.

Viruses are nasty.

arethereanyleftatall · 11/02/2022 14:59

@Fluffycloudland77

Oh and flu still kills people. Epstein Barr virus has been linked to cause multiple sclerosis later in life which can also significantly reduce your life expectancy.
Yes. Everybody dies of something.
Fluffycloudland77 · 11/02/2022 15:05

There’s illnesses you wouldn’t want to get, if your loved one had MS you would know the fear of knowing to your time is limited with them.

Everyone’s very sanguine about death until their sitting in the hospital car park at 4am due to covid while their dh is in A+E having the crash cart called for them & then you realise how precious life is.

It’ll be your turn too one day and you can remind yourself everyone dies of something.

Chunkofsquirrel · 11/02/2022 15:16

No more for me either. Had first two, regret them. Whole household had Covid (DH and teen DC completely unjabbed). We shall continue to rely on our own immune systems from now on and hope I don't suffer continued problems from the two jabs I wish I'd never had.

OldTinHat · 11/02/2022 15:17

Boosted here.

arethereanyleftatall · 11/02/2022 15:20

I'm so sorry to hear that @Fluffycloudland77 Thanks

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/02/2022 15:39

Pfizer and Moderna have full approval in the US

I know, MissConduct, but it's not where I live (unfortunately - and not because of the vaccines Wink)

Onegingerhead · 11/02/2022 16:11

Felt like shit after second Pfizer. Had covid before the jab, barely noticed it. Jab was awful. No way I m getting boosted and feel so happy that I live in the UK and not some EU country where it’s mandated.

NewPictureFrames · 11/02/2022 16:14

62, asthmatic, double jabbed and boosted. I got covid in January and for me, it was no worse than a mild cold - thank heavens for vaccinations.

AyeEee123 · 11/02/2022 16:19

Yes of course.

Newestname002 · 11/02/2022 16:57

Yes Boosted.

HPLikecraft · 11/02/2022 16:57

Virus's mutate to become milder, they don't want to kill their host as then they die out too. They want to become highly transmissible and not life threatening, like the common cold, a very 'successful' urus. It is now so mild as to be not life threatening to anyone who wasn't about to die from whatever virus they next got. I consider covid now like flu - I've never had that nor a booster for it

Hmm, you talk of the "success" of the cold virus to explain why you regard Covid as being like flu, a completely different virus?
Flu can still be fatal, and not free from mutation that makes it more deadly: Spanish flu killed millions, and young, fit people had a particularly high mortality rate.
Regardless of what a virus "wants", there are many factors affecting its mutations, so its continued mildness can't be assumed.

CharacterForming · 11/02/2022 17:07

Smallpox had a 30% death rate for thousands of years. There was no evidence that it was getting milder up to the day that we wiped it out.

MissConductUS · 11/02/2022 17:25

It was also more contagious than covid and the case fatality rate was higher in infants.
MissMaple82 · 11/02/2022 17:40

Not even jabbed!

Wishfulthinking1977 · 11/02/2022 19:15

Had 1st 2 doses, I personally felt pressured into it! Won't be having anymore! Various reasons, would prefer mine to go to those that need it more!

Goodbyecustardtart · 11/02/2022 19:17

Of course I have.

CrunchyCarrot · 11/02/2022 19:36

Virus's mutate to become milder

They rarely do. What is happening with SARS-CoV-2 is that it's adapting to being in a new species from where it originated. This may have the effect of making it 'milder' as it evolves to adapt. Measles hasn't become milder, nor have others I could name.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 11/02/2022 19:37

boosted.

as is my whole family.

and happy to be!!

YingMei · 11/02/2022 20:19

Boosted end of November as was DH. We didn't catch covid from our kids in Jan despite being extensively breathed on the whole time they were infected. Can't see why you would have a booster if you were happy to have the first two

Movingonup22 · 11/02/2022 20:23

@Chunkofsquirrel - what side effects has the vaccine had for you??

XenoBitch · 11/02/2022 20:31

Had no jabs at all

Cheesecake53 · 11/02/2022 20:34

Boosted and so is everyone I know.
