Boris Johnson has indicated the requirement to isolate after a positive Covid test will be scrapped at the end of this month. All I can say is about time too! Let's get back to life.

Brilliant news. Treat it like all other illnesses as per Denmark, Sweden etc. others will follow. Hopefully sturgeon doesn't wait a further 6 months in Scotland.....

Flyonawalk · 09/02/2022 12:32

Excellent news.

MrsJaxTellerPlease · 09/02/2022 12:33

And typically I've caught it in the last two weeks!!!

Mumofsend · 09/02/2022 12:34

I'm really relieved. Schools may finally stabilise.

Me too! I’ve gone two years and then squeezed in an isolation at the last possible point Angry
SexyLittleNosferatu · 09/02/2022 12:36

Great news.

Same here.

By the time of spread around the DC I was locked in for over 2 weeks. And we were all asymptomatic 🙄

MarshaBradyo · 09/02/2022 12:36

Just heard this too

Great news

gogohm · 09/02/2022 12:38

Sweden announced the same. The USA is in negotiations over travel testing, many states are barely testing already

Wnkingawalrus · 09/02/2022 12:41

Yay! Cannot wait given how much my family has been impacted by asymptomatic people having to isolate the last few months.

Crackingowlsanctuary · 09/02/2022 12:42

Excellent news. Hope it will encourage other countries to follow

Me too! I'm on Day 9 having had very faint positives for the last few days.
girlmom21 · 09/02/2022 12:44

Unless you're a government minister of course. Then you don't need to isolate at all.

CheeseKing · 09/02/2022 12:44

Good.

I won't know whether I catch it between now and then either as I won't be testing regardless of symptoms ☺️

Could not give less of a toss anymore quite frankly!

Blubells · 09/02/2022 12:46

Great news! Smile

Delatron · 09/02/2022 12:47

Good news and a month earlier than planned too.

Ooh do you have a source for this? We are due to travel to the USA later this year and the thought of swabbing the kids on camera makes me want to cancel
Figgygal · 09/02/2022 13:04

Great
So now if you have it you can just carry on without concern for who you may give it to
Fuck the vulnerable
Fucking Tory Britain

bellamountain · 09/02/2022 13:06

At long last! I wonder how many people will say they have it before the end of this month to get a week of work though.

I'm with you. My mum is CEV and I am so worried for her.
Butteryflakycrust83 · 09/02/2022 13:07

I HATE THIS COUNTRY.

I honestly, truly hate people. Selfish selfish selfish fucks.

Delatron · 09/02/2022 13:07

So great for children too. They’ve sacrificed so much for the vulnerable.

LethargeMarg · 09/02/2022 13:08

I think a lot of parents of school
aged kids are ignoring it already . I've heard of a lot just being off a few days with 'just a cold'

Not quite. 'Most' people if genuinely unwell are likely to at home and if well going about their business, same as all infections.
ILookAtTheFloor · 09/02/2022 13:09

Fantastic news, I'm delighted.
