Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there was anyone else currently with Covid, I suffer from anxiety and sitting alone in my room isolating really isn't helping. Im only on day 2.
So far I've had a very sore throat and my nose feels slightly congested.
I would love to have a covid pal to get through these difficult and lonely few days. GrinWink

I am day ten, and still testing positive! So frustrating and I'm so bored with being in our house. After feeling crap for 4-5 days, I've been bouncing off the walls since then. I have urgent reasons not to want to be away from loved ones right now, so this has been torture. At least tomorrow means freedom, whatever happens.

I know it's so annoying. I was hoping to leave isolation early as I feel ok apart from the head cold. So I tested today on day5 and a very definite positive Sad Going by what others have said I reckon im going to keep testing positive all week.

It's half term here so I can't go out with the kids. We were meant to be going away on a UK break on Saturday and I had to cancel that. If it was just a normal cold I'd be out doing the usual things and getting some fresh air and exercise SadSad

@Mymincepie it’s calming me right down Grin

Millicent2022 · 13/02/2022 17:25

Yuk I am feeling sick now suddenly on day 7, anyone else had this ?

Waddlegoose · 13/02/2022 17:56

Day 3 and feeling pretty rubbish, sleep is off and the nausea isn’t great. I’ve had a sore throat but I think it’s from all the coughing (which is affecting my sleep).

Positives are I think I will have lost some weight, silver linings!

TheKeatingFive · 13/02/2022 18:02

I'm on day 4 now and it's just cold symptoms and feeling a bit tired. We've already been isolating for 10 days with DS1 so totally through with it all now.

SunshineMoon100 · 13/02/2022 20:16

How is everyone ?
I am sick of this awful choking cough, been coughing my guts up most of the day Confused
Hope everyones had a better day

What day are you on again sunshinemoon? I've had a pretty good day 5 on the whole. Full of cold this morning but improving as the day went on. Still know I'm ill... but maybe I'm going to be OK 👌

Mymincepie · 13/02/2022 20:23

Thekeating5. This is my fear for the two of us that haven't caught it... matter of time for them. Took you a while to catch it?

TheKeatingFive · 13/02/2022 20:49

Took you a while to catch it?

Yup. DH and I caught it 6 days after DS. 😫

But we weren't taking any measures to stop getting it, so I'm not sure what we could have done differently

takeyourcanvasbag · 13/02/2022 20:49

I think my husband will be next to test positive by the looks of him tonight. I feel like I’m on edge just waiting for the rest of the family to get it! DD1 still clear.

takeyourcanvasbag · 13/02/2022 20:50

@Mymincepie that’s kind of how I feel now, definitely feel an improvement this evening, fingers crossed it lasts!

Millicent2022 · 13/02/2022 20:54

Can someone remind me if first day of symptoms is day 0?

Millicent2022 · 13/02/2022 20:56

I felt a lot better this morning but rubbish again (tired and sick ) this evening

I think I am day 5 or 6 (tested positive Tuesday )

Hyppogriff · 13/02/2022 21:00

Day 8 here and still testing positive grrrr! Been locked in with the 2 toddlers all week and we all need to get out!! Husband is 2 days behind me ! Argh ! Think better now tho

UsernameIsNotAvailableRightNow · 13/02/2022 21:13

Can I join your gang?

My son tested positive 22nd January and on the 23rd had it really quite bad for a 7 year old. Only for 24 hours but throwing up, super high fever, really drowsy. At one point he couldn't form a sentence and didn't seem to understand what we were saying to him!
Thankfully that didn't last long and the following day it was like nothing ever happened!

Neither me or my wife caught it from him and neither did our daughter(5). We hadn't isolated from him at all. We did keep our daughter off at the same time because she had a fever but no positive test. It was ripping through the school so we thought maybe she did have it but wasn't getting a positive because she doesn't really let us test her properly.

Both were off until 1st feb. One week later daughter tested positive after coming home from school and saying she felt really hot and had a sore head.

Me and my wife again managed to hold off but yesterday she full on sneezed into my face. It went into my eyes and open mouth Confused and then today I tested positive with the faintest of lines.

Feels like I've been isolating forever now with them all following on from each other. I just want to go out and go for a walk but I'm only single vaccinated so have had to isolate when the kids tested positive even though I didn't have itHmm

Millicent2022 · 13/02/2022 21:22

Hi @UsernameIsNotAvailableRightNow

Gosh that was speedy testing positive.. I kind of caught in a similar way - I picked up one of my son’s positive tests to look at. Bam I just know I got I then !

I wish everyone a speedy recovery !

UsernameIsNotAvailableRightNow · 13/02/2022 21:35

To be fair I could have caught off her earlier than the sneezing episode because she's been stuck to me for the past 5 days, no attempts to keep even an arms length away Grin

My left bicep feels aches and I have a headache, wondering if that's the start of my symptoms.

Millicent2022 · 13/02/2022 21:36

Think headache is really common first symptom ..

Argh it’s horrible , I’m on day 5 and so up and down . The tight chest has been horrible (

balkanscot · 13/02/2022 21:57

@Millicent2022

Can someone remind me if first day of symptoms is day 0?
Day 1 is from the day of your confirmed positive test. I tested positive this morning (LFT) and it counts as day 1 for the purposes of self isolation. (I am in Scotland). Based on this Test & Protect have told me that I was likely to have been infectious since 11 Feb., 2 days before testing positive (I kept testing all week, all negative, even on these “infectious” dates). Due to join the land of the living again on 22 Feb., unless I start testing negative from day 6 which I highly doubt I will (DS had to wait full 10 days and it looks like DH will have to do the same).
Millicent2022 · 13/02/2022 22:03

@balkanscot yeah I bet I don’t get out early my line is so dark !

I thought like you the day of test was day 1 but i think now it’s day 0 according to U.K. gov website - anyone else know ?

Going to try and at least work the morning tomorow (from home )

Mymincepie · 13/02/2022 22:15

Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or positive test. Then it's 10 full days after that, of isolation, unless 2 negative LFTs, a day apart, from day 5 onwards.

balkanscot · 13/02/2022 22:18

I didn’t have any symptoms before today.

Millicent2022 · 13/02/2022 22:24

@Mymincepie

Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or positive test. Then it's 10 full days after that, of isolation, unless 2 negative LFTs, a day apart, from day 5 onwards.
Hmmm so that makes me day 5 only
  • argh time is standing still!
