Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there was anyone else currently with Covid, I suffer from anxiety and sitting alone in my room isolating really isn't helping. Im only on day 2.
So far I've had a very sore throat and my nose feels slightly congested.
I would love to have a covid pal to get through these difficult and lonely few days. GrinWink

Day 1 (Sun) - Chesty cough starts
Day 2 (Mon) - Positive LFT, feel like I've been hit by a truck, cough worse
Day 3 (Tue) - AM same as Tues / PM slightly better
Day 4 (Wed) - Still coughing and tired
Day 5 (Thu) - Less coughing & feel OK. LFT fading rapidly
Day 6 (Fri) - Bit of a cough, banging head but negative LFT 😁 I'm outta here👍

3rd day since testing positive ( 4 since symptoms ) and feeling really down; a bit sniffly but so tired and brain foggy and tea tastes all wrong Sad

BillTuckerIsInnocent a colleague got it last Friday and seemed to be steadily improving but yesterday as a worse turn, snottier which he hadn't been before

theculture · 04/03/2022 08:44

BillTuckerIsInnocent he also had about 3 days ago a terrible aching jaw and teeth

theculture · 04/03/2022 08:46

Sorry billstickerisinnocent for mispelling name (and missing the joke Smile) - did I mention brain fog Grin

Stokey · 04/03/2022 08:54

@dogmumma you sound really bad, thankfully I haven't had a temperature. Hopefully the night nurse at least meant you got a better night's sleep. I have been having just 1 5ml spoonful to help me sleep better as I find more than that makes the brain fog worse. Kids haven't succumbed yet so am finding it a bit of a struggle getting up with them and getting them off to school. Luckily they're old enough to walk by themselves.

Yoyokitten · 04/03/2022 10:15

Hi I tested positive on February 17th, felt rough for a few days with the usual symptoms.
Day 9, 10 and since then I've tested negative. I feel worse now than at any other time and it's Day 14.
Could I have caught it again or what? My chest is now tight, swollen glands in my neck, sore throat and a horrible rattly cough. I never have problems with my chest but wonder of it's a chest infection.

TheGodWorm · 04/03/2022 11:01

Yoyokitten maybe you do have a chest infection. Google the symptoms and keep an eye on your temp, heart rate etc. My armpit felt sore yesterday, around day 8. I thought maybe it was pneumonia me fighting off the virus, hence the sore lymph glands. I bought a pulse oximeter over a year ago, and it's been put to good use this week!

It's day 9 for me and the remaining symptoms are now fatigue and achey hips. I also have a headache, but that's normal life for me. It is up and down. Around day 5 I felt good and went for a little walk twice that day in the sunshine.

Something's going on with the tip of my tongue which felt like it was burning yesterday, along with the back of my nose. Today the tip of my tongue feels a little numb. Weird.

StuckInARug · 04/03/2022 12:36

I feel a lot better today. Like I could get up and go to work. But I’m taking the advice of the urgent care GP I was on Monday when I couldn't breathe, who said a lot of people feel better after a few days, think they can go back to normal, and then covid hits them again…. So I’m staying in bed for the next 3 days!

Chakraleaf · 04/03/2022 13:18

That makes sense. I keep going up and down.

JamMakingWannaBe · 04/03/2022 14:06

Day 7 for me. I drank a heap of "nightime" herbal tea last night and slept through to 11:30am when the doorbell rang!!

Still a very feint line on LFT.

BIWI · 04/03/2022 15:02

Still positive here, although the 'T' line was much fainter than yesterday. Hopefully by Sunday I'll no longer be positive, as I'm supposed to be going out with DS2 (who lives away from home) for his birthday

I wasn't surprised it was still positive today as I still have a bit of a sore throat, but I'm keeping everything crossed that it will have gone very soon!

gettingalife · 04/03/2022 16:22

Positive on Monday so now on day 5. Or 4 if Monday is counted as day zero? Feel horrific. Started with scratchy throat and was a bit sweaty, but by Tuesday morning I had a chesty cough and tiredness descended along with a really, really sore thtoat.

Have the deepest, chestiest cough ever. Full of snot. No energy. No taste or smell and zero appetite (hoorah!). Headache too. Still testing positive with bright red line. It's all actually scared me a bit. Makes me wonder how I would've been if I was unjabbed! Dead probably!!

Hannah1990x · 04/03/2022 16:35

Hi everyone, just tested positive this afternoon. Double jabbed and boosted. Wednesday felt like I was getting a cold so tested and negative.

Tonight was meant to be out to a black tie event for work I'd been looking forward to for weeks. Still feeling a bit coldy and then I realised I couldn't taste my lunch and also felt like someone was sat on my chest, did LFT waiting for the reassuring negative I always get and bam, dark red line straight away!

Shocked but I suppose it was inevitable eventually. My partner and kids are all negative, for now.

Grateful to not be feeling too bad so far. Thoughts with my covid buddies!

blinder · 04/03/2022 22:10

Day 3 of symptoms, positive LFT yesterday.
Scratchy throat
Chills throughout my body like someone is pouring icy water through me
Coughing
Constant blocked / runny nose
My ears crackle?
T. I. R. E. D.
Burning stomach and lower intestines
Some nausea

What a weird illness this is.

I’m feeling slightly perturbed by PPs saying that symptoms appeared to disappear and then suddenly worsen. I have a massively busy week of work next week, but actually, maybe I will just cancel everything that isn’t extremely important. I haven’t had a sick day during this whole pandemic.

Night Nurse tonight. Feel quite excited about it.

BIWI · 04/03/2022 22:43

I don't think anyone could criticise you for having a sick day or two (or three or four!) with those symptoms @blinder!

whatever1980 · 04/03/2022 22:48

Day 4 for me here and starting to feel better but just realised that I've lost my sense of taste today - had it yesterday

Stokey · 05/03/2022 10:02

@blinder, I'm massively busy at work too, worked all weekend and 12 hours days on Monday and Tuesday. But by Wednesday, I knew I just had to rest (day 3 for me) and have been off for the rest of the week. I'm feeling tentatively better today (day 6) so it was definitely the right thing to do, although I felt guilty for my team. I do think you need rest to recover.

Hope everyone is starting to improve. Am a bit concerned the Dds are going to pick it up now since both their parents have it, but so far they're negative.

blinder · 05/03/2022 13:33

Thanks @BIWI and @Stokey. Yes I think rest is the way to recovery. Honestly, I can’t focus on much anyway. I don’t know what good I’d be to anyone in my team.

I’ve started Peaky Blinders, and I’ve no idea what is going on. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave · 05/03/2022 13:33

The first five days for me were awful with fever, aches, general pain, but since then I feel so much better. Still got the cough and I feel weak and tired, but okay in myself.

My sense of taste is partially back, which I'm over the moon about!

BillStickersIsInnocent · 05/03/2022 14:11

I’m feeling a lot better now (day 11). A little tired and still have a cough but not too bad.

Hope everyone makes a speedy recovery with no long Covid

BIWI · 05/03/2022 14:15

Day 6 for me (assuming that Day 1 was when I tested positive - Day 9 from first symptoms appearing.

I thought I was getting better yesterday, but then started with a horrible headache that actually woke me up at 3 am. Painkillers didn't touch it.

Took more painkillers just after 9am, and then managed to get back to sleep till after 1pm and finally it's gone, and I'm feeling OK. Is that the end of it?!

Still a little bit of a sore throat, but it's barely there.

Sunflowersinthewind · 05/03/2022 14:32

DS came down with it yesterday. Really bad headache and body aches. Temperature yesterday but not today. No appetite. I am feeling ok and testing negative for now

boomshakalacka · 05/03/2022 14:36

Day 5 here. LFT still v strong positive. I'll be doing them for the next two days hoping to be back at work on Monday but not holding my breath...

BIWI · 05/03/2022 15:50

Yay! Just tested negative.

Hopefully that headache was the last bit of the virus making itself known!
