Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there was anyone else currently with Covid, I suffer from anxiety and sitting alone in my room isolating really isn't helping. Im only on day 2.
So far I've had a very sore throat and my nose feels slightly congested.
I would love to have a covid pal to get through these difficult and lonely few days. GrinWink
@thimblekisses I hear you. We both have the vinegar/ acid thing too. If you want to really get the full experience, open a pack of salt and vinegar crisps. Blows your head off!
Aw god I have this exact thing too. Never smelt anything so bad as salt and vinegar crisps. Or any condiment.

Those of you whose smell/taste has been affected - what day did it happen? I think mine is a bit dulled today but I could be imagining it.

BIWI · 28/02/2022 16:49

Well this is a club I didn't want to join Sad

First symptoms on Friday - a big vaguely, coldey
Took a test on Saturday morning, before going to the gym with my PT, and it was negative.
Bad night's sleep on Saturday night, couldn't get warm, probably a bit feverish (didn't think to take my temperature)
Sunday, sore throat started. Really horrible, like barbed wire round my throat. Again, couldn't get warm and had to go and have a hot bath in the afternoon.
Took a test this morning, and the T line came up really strongly, even before the C line!

Also have a bit of a runny nose, and occasional sneezing - which is unpleasant because it hurts my throat.

Drinking hot drinks does seem to help the throat more than cold.

Can I ask, how often are you supposed to test? It seems a bit pointless for me to test while my symptoms are still very obvious.

CatJumperTwat · 28/02/2022 19:15

Welcome to the club, BIWI Sad

I'm not going to bother testing until next week, when I wanted to go to the office one day. Otherwise I'm staying at home so there's no point.

thimblekisses · 01/03/2022 11:02

I'm barely showing now on the lateral but eating makes me feel quite sick. Is anyone else having these symptoms ?

thimblekisses · 01/03/2022 11:07

Day 4 for me! It's still not back to full and I'm day 11 now. Lots of things smell weird still but not as bad. Only thing is I've very limited appetite and any food is making me feel nauseous. Might do me good to loose a bit of weight though!!!
dogmumma · 01/03/2022 12:47

Hello all - I just tested positive this morning, after waking at 4am with shivering and aches and pains. Sore throat also. But I ache so so bad!
I'm 29 and I've had one dose of the Pfizer (little behind the mark as I was sceptical at first).
Home in bed.
Just wondering, when do the worst of the symptoms seems to surface? Feeling anxious.

Chakraleaf · 01/03/2022 15:03

Oh no. I'm here

Sunday tested negative- felt tired
Monday- negative LFT in morning and eve. Felt bad all day, tired and shivery. Started.to get a tickle in throat. By evening felt like flu but still testing negative
Tuesday- tested positive, throat feels like sponge and needles? Struggling to take a deep breath

:(

That’s interesting as I finally tested positive this morning and decided to just swab my throat in case it picked something else up. Would be interested to know if I just do the nose would it be clear.
Really interesting. I had negatives till I did the throat too.

Rainbowshit · 01/03/2022 16:12

DD tested negative on a nose only lft but I was convinced she had covid so we did a throat swab and she tested positive. Just as well I did as she would have gone to school the next day and infected people.

Rainbowshit · 01/03/2022 16:24

Anyone else have blurry vision?

dogmumma · 01/03/2022 16:26

I did one nose swab test and it instantly came back positive, first time. I've managed to escape this dreaded virus for 3 years! Not no more - any tips on anything to help and aches and pains? I'm struggling to sleep, dispite feeling completely wiped out because my body aches so much. Lying in the same position for too long just hurts.

JamMakingWannaBe · 01/03/2022 16:42

I'm on Day 4.

I'm managing with over-the-counter cold and flu tablets with paracetamol and decongestant. Strepsils for the sore throat and menthol sweets for my chest.
Also, have hot water bottle in bed.

Desperately trying to avoid passing it on to the rest of the family.

Anyone know where they got it? My money's on a trip to get my eyes tested. Small room with no ventilation. 😷

BIWI · 01/03/2022 16:45

What pain relief are you taking @dogmumma? Something like Night Nurse would help, or Day Nurse during the day.

My main symptom is still the sore throat, which is really awful. I have to keep blowing my nose, and every now and then I sneeze really violently, which also makes me cough - and really hurts my throat. But thankfully no breathlessness or aches and pains. No temperature either, although I was definitely feverish the first couple of days.

Chakraleaf · 01/03/2022 18:48

I'm starting to feel pretty awful

JamMakingWannaBe · 01/03/2022 19:07

Sorry to hear that Chakra.

Do you have other family at home there with you?

vera16 · 01/03/2022 20:43

@Rainbowshit I had slightly blurry vision. And tired eyes. It all seemed to be in my eyes/ears/head to be honest. I felt nauseous but I think it was related to dizziness/vertigo rather than any GI symptoms.

Chakraleaf · 01/03/2022 21:15

@JamMakingWannaBe

Sorry to hear that Chakra.

Yes, but husband has it too! I'm sure we will manage between us with the kids x
Yoyokitten · 02/03/2022 00:15

Hi all. This is a horrible virus.
Day 12 for me,. I'm confused. 4 negative tests, felt a lot better, then last night started coughing, runny nose, temperature again and a faint line again on the lateral flow test.. My chest feels heavy and tight, but luckily my sense of smell is back which is a relief after 2 weeks. My husband is still feeling rough after 2 weeks. Is it possible to get it again or pass it backwards and forwards between us?

Myturnatlast · 02/03/2022 05:30

Oh I've found my people ☹
I woke up with a chesty cough Sunday but thought 'it's OK, covid is a dry cough' and ignored it.
Woke up 2am Monday feeling fluey so tested - positive
Felt like I'd been hit by a bus until Tuesday lunchtime and now just feel tired & coldy.
I'm going to test later this morning.
As we don't have to legally isolate for a set period now would I be right in saying I can see people again if I test negative and feel OK?
I don't want to infect my boyfriend (although I suspect that damage would have been done on Sunday - he's fine so far, touch wood) but I'd very much like to see him!

GreekOlive · 02/03/2022 07:03

Morning folks. Checking in. Day 6 for me.

Started with a croaky voice and negative test. Then blocked nose and tested positive on Friday. Saturday, I stayed in bed but up and about since Sunday working from home. My symptoms have most been catarrh-related (sorry). Weirdly no sore throat. Bit of a cough related to catarrh (so not dry).

Both doses of vaccine and boosted. Managed to avoid this for 2 years. Probably picked up in the community. I’m single and children are negative.

Sending love and get well vibes to you all Flowers

BIWI · 02/03/2022 07:26

Morning..

Main symptom for me is still the unbearable sore throat. I've seen it described as 'scratchy'. That doesn't do justice to it! Ripped to shreds by barbed wire is more how I'd describe how mine feels. And very little seems to dull it.

Still a runny nose, and a bit phlegmy, but that's all bearable. Started with a bit of a cough during the night, which was horrible because it hurt my throat so much, but that seems to have gone.

I managed to sleep a bit better last night than the night before, in blocks of 3-4 hours at a time - but I do feel better generally upright rather than lying down.

I was very hot at one point and my temperature was 37.6, so only 0.2 away from the 'magic' number. However, as my temperature is usually slightly lower than average, that was pretty warm for me.

But I've been taking paracetamol and codeine, and interspersing that with ibuprofen, so hopefully that will also keep any fever at bay.

I know that, relatively speaking, this is a mild variant of Covid, but my goodness it's unpleasant.

dogmumma · 02/03/2022 07:49

Tested positive yesterday morning. Symptoms presented early hours of Monday morning (4am)

Day 2 -

 • High temp currently reading 38.2
 • severe muscle pains - especially in my neck, back, buttocks and hips.
 • difficulty sleeping due to aches and pains.
 • sore throat
 • painful eyes and eye sockets
 • headache
 • fatigue but can't sleep solidly.
 • dry mouth
 • loss of appetite

Feeling rough!! I'm hoping this is the worst of it and I won't develop any further symptoms.
Staying off from work so far until Friday. - however highly doubt I'll be going back on Friday feeling how I do right now - however, the stress of money is a constant worry.

BIWI · 02/03/2022 07:54

@Myturnatlast

I'd think that if you're testing negative it should be fine.

Myturnatlast · 02/03/2022 09:24

Thanks @BIWI, that's what I'd assumed.

I'm just a bit achey & snotty & have a chesty cough so if it wasn't for covid I'd probably be carrying on as normal. Sadly I'm still testing positive this morning 😔
