Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there was anyone else currently with Covid, I suffer from anxiety and sitting alone in my room isolating really isn't helping. Im only on day 2.
So far I've had a very sore throat and my nose feels slightly congested.
I would love to have a covid pal to get through these difficult and lonely few days. GrinWink

I was also negative on nasal only. I decided to do a throat swab because my throat was just so annoyingly scratchy. The positive line practically glowed in the dark it was so bright.

Mymincepie · 26/02/2022 13:26

Hi Millicent. Still have sinus issues and tickly breathing which feels like I need to cough. I am wondering if it'll progress i to an infection or just linger on like this.

MrsGrealish · 26/02/2022 14:08

Hey everyone, day 5 and the exhaustion is killing me. Sore joints but no cough at all

CosmoMint · 26/02/2022 14:46

Hi, hope everyone is slowly getting better. I am on day 12 now. Still bad cough, bad taste in mouth and some chest pain sometimes. I am hoping the chest pain is to do with the coughing and hoping it goes when the cough goes. Fingers crossed.

janeseymour78 · 26/02/2022 17:28

I tested positive on Friday and I've felt rough. As I'm 30 and had all vaccines I expected only a mild reaction. My steroid inhaler is a godsend, which I only thought to renew a week ago!

I've had fever, awful chesty phlegymy cough, feels like throat is on fire, sore ears/sinus pain, freezing cold hands before I tested positive, chest pain, sneezy and runny nose. Also sleeping a lot.

I also wonder about that @MelvinThePenguin. I was feeling bad for 2 days but had negative results with nasal only. Friday I did throat and it came out positive.

thimblekisses · 26/02/2022 18:27

Day 7 now (5 days since positive test but 7 since symptoms began) still testing positive but the line is much lighter now. Symptoms include chest pain (just in one side when breathing in) , cough and food smelling and tasting like hand sanitizer. Just made myself dinner and stuck some bbq sauce in. Needless to say should have smelled it first because now it stinks 😩 weird - anything with vinegar / acid in sets it off. So far- Mayo, bbq sauce, hot sauce, prawn cocktail crisps. Hoping for a negative test tomorrow

Day 4 here. Symptoms keep changing. Main issue so far has been dizzy/lightheaded feeling which was the first symptom. It's a weird illness.

Monday - slight vertigo otherwise fine.
Day 0 - dizzy/vertigo, scratchy throat, -ve LFT (nasal), DS +ve LFT (nasal)
Day 1 - dizzy, felt off, tickly throat, slight cough, -ve LFT (nasal) followed 5 mins later by +ve LFT (throat/mouth), +ve PCR
Day 2 - dizzy, groggy, slight cough
Day 3 - dizzy, nauseous, throat better, slight runny nose
Day 4 - dizzy, nauseous if doing anything other than sitting on sofa, slight runny nose, sneezing, tired eyes

DS - croup type cough for first two days. Night sweats for first four nights. Now chesty cough and runny nose, I am surprised how bad he has been compared to other kids his age.

Mymincepie · 26/02/2022 20:58

@thimblekisses I hear you. We both have the vinegar/ acid thing too. If you want to really get the full experience, open a pack of salt and vinegar crisps. Blows your head off!

makeadifference123 · 27/02/2022 01:18

Day 4 here. I don't really like the way people say it's just like a cold! It's not like that for everyone! I was in hospital this evening getting an infusion of the new anti-virals/antibody treatment as I immediately got a chest infection (which they say was a bit quick /not a great sign so.....). Was most surprised to get a call out of the blue from the hospital saying can you be here in an hour!

SmudgeRolls · 27/02/2022 01:29

Im CEV, Had 4 jabs and currently on day 7.
I feel Rough, considering i had 4 jabs and the 4th jab was only three weeks before i caught it !

Today the exhaustion is something else !

Millicent2022 · 27/02/2022 08:32

Hi Millicent. Still have sinus issues and tickly breathing which feels like I need to cough. I am wondering if it'll progress i to an infection or just linger on like this.
Gosh poor you! Are you testing positive still ?
vera16 · 27/02/2022 09:06

@makeadifference123 wow was after a 111 call?

NewWateringCan · 27/02/2022 11:29

Hello all,
I tested positive this morning Sad after walking up in the night feeling hot/cold/fluey.
I was feeling so lucky to have not had it!
I'm classed as CEV and have had 4 jabs, so I'm hoping it won't be too bad.
I work with vulnerable people and so think I need to protect them and not go to work.
As of right now I feel well enough (ish) to work, but I don't know what might come in the next few days. The way I felt in the night I definitely couldn't go to work like that.
I live alone so can just relax, thank goodness.

Mymincepie · 27/02/2022 12:02

Millicent, I tested negative on day 13.

makeadifference123 · 27/02/2022 12:06

@newwateringcan
Yes - spend 4 hours getting sent around the houses for an antibiotic prescription (DH went to boots “no it’s not here etc etc” Then out of the blue a hospital rang me and said “can you be here within the hour”’. Apparently that one infusion cost £8k so they are not exactly dishing it out. If you are CEV worth checking the list but it seems like they are using a little bit of discretion there )

CatJumperTwat · 27/02/2022 12:51

I've avoided COVID for two years but tested positive today. I'm type 1 diabetic so hoping it stays mild.

Rainbowshit · 27/02/2022 18:20

I tested positive yesterday after feeling fatigued/hangover like for a few days.

Wednesday I had quite a physical day and ended up going to bed at 8.30 feeling totally fatigued. Thursday felt fatigued/aching muscles but thought just sore from day before. Had a few too many drinks on Thursday and didn't sleep well as felt very sweaty but thought just from the alcohol. Friday felt like I had a terrible hangover. Saturday had sore throat cough and tested positive.

Im thinking I can count Wednesday as first day of symptoms?

Seeriously · 27/02/2022 19:42

Evening!
Thankfully I seem to be getting better. I think I am roughly day 6/7. Thursday was definitely the worst day for me where I had a lot of body aches and fever and burning skin, sore throat, headaches, fatigue.

I have kept waiting and worrying about the sudden 2 weeks dip (as I had that the first time I caught covid March 2020) but I don’t know if that’s a thing with this new variant?

Also have 2 of my kids going back to school tomorrow as they are testing negative! Still have 2 more to go!

warmleatherette · 28/02/2022 08:23

How long is this thing lasting for people? I'm on day 7 since testing positive, back at work today but feel so exhausted still (and still fairly snotty) and slightly dreading getting back to full speed and running around like a mad thing again (full-time working single mother of two) 😅

vera16 · 28/02/2022 08:41

I'm on day 6 and feeling a lot better but wouldn't say fully recovered. My LFT test looks lighter today too. DS is now negative (or possibly a squinter) at day 7.

greygraysky · 28/02/2022 09:07

I'm on day 1. Yesterday had a horrible headache all day and felt tired and full of cold. Today I feel the same but my body feels achy and hot and cold. Line was fairly faint yesterday on the covid test but darker today. Hope I feel better soon

Starlight17 · 28/02/2022 11:12

Day 5 for me and sore throat has gone but still snotty and cough now sounds chesty but not frequent. I feel achy and weak all over today and generally drained. Didn’t sleep well as I couldn’t breathe through blocked nose and don’t really know what to expect from one day to the next! No temperature and feeling starving this morning for the first time, which I’d say is a god sign seeing as I’ve had zero appetite. My timeline has gone like this so far if it helps anyone, although I think it effects everyone differently:

Day 1 - Head cold, burning feeling inside nose and smelling chlorine like being in a swimming pool
Day 2 - Nose running like a tap and sneezy still with head cold but chlorine smell gone
Day 3 - Feeling drained and really snotty with blocked nose and feeling nauseous but not actually sick and started a tickly cough and bringing up whatever is running down the back of my throat from my nose
Day 4 - Woke up with really sore throat like swallowed razor blades, no appetite, blocked nose and snotty still but head cold gone
Day 5 - Sore throat and head cold gone, still blocked nose and snotty, cough sounds more chesty but still tickly and whole body feels tired and aching

I’ve taken day nurse tablets since day 4 which seem to have helped with the sore throat and stuffiness and the body aches. Hope everyone gets better soon.

Wannabangbang · 28/02/2022 13:32

Day 8 here and testing negative still feel headachy and tried though. When will this end

CatJumperTwat · 28/02/2022 14:08

Day 4 and I feel like absolute shit. Swinging between too hot and freezing cold, exhausted but I can't sleep, my ribs ache from coughing.

sparklefarts · 28/02/2022 15:47

How did you tell you had chest infection aswell as covid?
