Hi everyone,
Just wondered if there was anyone else currently with Covid, I suffer from anxiety and sitting alone in my room isolating really isn't helping. Im only on day 2.
So far I've had a very sore throat and my nose feels slightly congested.
I would love to have a covid pal to get through these difficult and lonely few days. GrinWink

@ZippyZap @takeyourcanvasbag She's fed longer this morning, boobs were fuller. However the antibiotics I've got for the blocked duct have left me feeling horrific - stomach pain, Vommiting and diahorrea so been prescribed cyclizine for that.

Still to do lft. Still abit bunged up and have a hacking cough sometimes with gunk, upper back occasionally sore but when coughing so think it's from that. No taste or smell yet...

takeyourcanvasbag · 18/02/2022 10:32

@xx18921 glad she’s feeding more today! Hope you are soon feeling better Flowers

Mymincepie · 18/02/2022 11:10

Day 10 pretty dark positive here still.

Lastoftheenglishroses · 18/02/2022 11:21

Tested positive via weekly work PCR on Weds (result received yesterday PM) - mild symptoms which are getting a bit worse; runny nose and achy. Did a LFT out of curiosity once I got home yesterday - negative result. Odd!

ToniLaRoni · 18/02/2022 11:25

Day 2 for me.

Got my email at 3am that my PCR (taken yesterday at drive through at 1pm) was positive so have filled in all the online track and trace stuff.

Much easier than the phone calls I had to endure last year when DC were positive.

Feeling fine today, very mild cold, but smell and taste completely gone. I'm incredibly grateful that's my main symptom - but it's crap!

Confusedandworried321 · 18/02/2022 15:53

I had a faint but clearly positive LFT this morning. I'm gutted as my DC is on day 7 and to be honest I assumed I'd avoided it by now (testing daily and all earlier LFTs negative). I'd avoided it when DH had Delta in the winter, pre-booster, so assumed I was immune in some way!

I haven't felt right for a few days, but that's not wholly unusual for me as my DC bring home all sorts of germs, and I'm asthmatic so suffer with coughs a bit in winter anyway. So I have no idea when my day 1 would've been, as today certainly isn't the first day of symptoms. I will just do daily LFTs and play it by ear I think.

CandlesBlanketsandTea · 19/02/2022 07:12

Can I join? I wasn't feeling great all week, so took LFTs and a PCR, as both my parents have COVID and I'm currently staying with them, they all came back negative. Then on Friday I hardly slept because I had a temperature, and the LFT came up strongly positive, which is weird because I did one the night before and it was negative. I've woken up today and the temp has reduced but the cough is out in force. I'm meant to be starting a new temp job on Monday but I'm not sure I'll be well enough, which is a real concern. I'm taking day 1 as yesterday, despite feeling off all week. I've got asthma so I'm worried about how this will affect that.

CandlesBlanketsandTea · 19/02/2022 07:32

Just to clarify the temp job is based at home, I've already got the laptop as I was working in a different department. Obviously I wouldn't go into an office.

I hope it'll be mild for you. Its just so unpredictable. One day you feel fine then the next day you feel rough. You have the weekend to hopefully get over the worst x

Thanks @SunshineMoon100 my parents have been up and down, I'm just worried about taking time off in a new job. I've just stripped and remade my bed and I'm really out of puff!

Hi, sorry I haven’t managed to read all the posts in this thread yet. I hope you are all improving day by day. But I have Covid right now. Day 5. Only starting to feel a bit better today, felt really ill the previous days. Had fever, all over body aches, coughing, some sneezing, chills, bad sore throat, bad taste in mouth at times, fatigue, sometimes feel a bit out of breath and sometimes feel mild stomach pains and chest pain. Is this normal? I don’t know whether to freak out or not, as I thought Omicron is meant to be mild. It’s mild in the case of not ending up in hospital, but it’s not a simple cold for me. I feel it is affecting every part of my body. I hope I don’t get long Covid. The thing that is freaking me out is sometimes I get very mild chest pain and sometimes feel a bit breathless. But it’s all very mild. Please if anyone has been through this, does this go away?

So glad to have been triple jabbed as I dread to think what this would be like for me without the vaccine.

CosmoMint · 19/02/2022 11:34

Also had a bad headache. But I notice sometimes these symptoms come and go randomly. Really strange! Just when feeling a bit better, it suddenly hits you again!

ToniLaRoni · 19/02/2022 13:06

@CosmoMint

I've had on and off mild stomach cramps (couldn't tell if period or diarrhoea but neither happened) since the night before my positive LFT.

I'm on day 3 and today headache and no energy but that comes and goes.

Thankfully no chest pains or breathing problems but 100% lost my smell and taste now which is rubbish.

Sorry you're feeling bad with it. Xx Mild for me certainly but I'm feeling bad enough to be in bed today which I never do in the day. X

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 19/02/2022 13:13

I'm day 7.
Day 1-2 no symptoms tested as DS was positive.
Day 2-3 really achy, sore throat fluey.
Day 4-7 sore throat and and ears.
Really, really fed up. Half term here too I'm hoping hubby can take some time off to take the kids out if I'm stuck in the whole 10 days.

TheUsualShitshow · 19/02/2022 14:24

Day 5 here, Day 7 for DS and Day 2 for DD.

I feel quite a bit better today, has been like a really bad head cold, sorest throat I've ever had!

Absolutely no symptoms below my neck which is quite weird, given how horrible my head has felt, but I'm very grateful this is all it's been.

xx18921 · 19/02/2022 14:27

Day 8, feeling better - abit congested with a slight sinus headache. Smell and taste returning so been eating again.

Still a faint line on lft though so likely in for the full 10. Hope everyone is getting there.

Owlfrog · 19/02/2022 15:26

Day 4. Diarrhoea day apparently Envy

After feeling much brighter day 2 and 3 I'm not so chipper today... pale and weak and tired.

TheUsualShitshow · 19/02/2022 15:39

I swept the floors and played basketball for 10 minutes with DS and now feel sick and have come back to bed Confused

Sunflowers765 · 19/02/2022 16:02

Day 7 today. Feel a bit knackered and light headed. Tested negative yesterday but positive again today! 😦 was hoping to go back to work tomorrow but I guess that won't be happening. DH tested positive last week and had a slight cold for about a day- now absolutely fine and wondering why I'm making a fuss Confused

Owlfrog · 19/02/2022 16:08

I know it's not been officially decided yet re isolation ending but.... what will it mean for those of us currently isolating if the rules change during our 'legal' isolation period?!

Day 6 for me is Monday so in theory if I test negative tomorrow and Monday first thing I can go back to work... but if not I guess 'freedom day' means we are all released into the wild regardless?!

I've not LFT'd since my PCR so have no idea how strong my line is currently but given how unwell I've felt today I'm kind of hoping a positive line tomorrow prevents me from going right back to work on Monday!

I had this - was really not very well at all and days 5-7 had tight chest in my back, breathless , temp , was scared !

Am now day 11 and loads better - just a bit of congestion and tired . Was also so shocked how bad I felt .. maybe we had a combo variant !?? Hope you feel better soon x

How are you today @Mymincepie
upmysleeve · 19/02/2022 17:47

Just tested positive this afternoon after DC positive tests on Thursday and Friday. Slightly scratchy throat, headache and I mild muscle pains so far. Will see how it progresses...

MGMidget · 19/02/2022 19:18

I tested positive a few days ago. It is like a bad cold. Started with a bit of a scratchy throat, occasional sneeze, then started to develop. I got the shivers one night and was achy/flu like the following morning but temperature within the normal limits when I tested in the morning! Took lemsip and felt much better. The inside of my nose/sinuses feel a bit inflamed and I sneeze quite a lot, can't smell and taste much. I cough occasionally but it really is only very occasionally. This is just like a stuffy cold, the type I would probably get at some point in any winter. I am triple-vaxed and did (apparently) get covid a long time ago as I had the antibodies on a blood test but don't know when I got it. It was probably the Alpha variety that I had previously, early in the pandemic when they weren't testing unless you went to hospital.

I am really hoping that I don't have to isolate for the whole ten days though. I was counting on ending it on day six but the postings here don't give me much optimism!

CandlesBlanketsandTea · 19/02/2022 19:27

Well my asthma has well and truly kicked off, my peak flow has dropped, I sound wheezy and I've maxed out my inhalers. Just ringing 111. I'm freaking out slightly because I'm triple vaccinated and the local NHS are a bit rubbish. I think I could do with a nebuliser 😔
