Mine is insomnia. I am so very tired (as expected) but I can't sleep.

What other delights have people had?

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 28/01/2022 13:05

Currently battling muscular pains in my legs. Can’t physically walk properly.

Have had also during this delightful hour, twitching and spasms, which thankfully have passed and severe internal shivering which again has passed now.

Just waiting for this leg pain to leave n

cuddlywuddly · 28/01/2022 13:05

When I had covid, one of my first symptoms felt like a knife in my eye socket. I had aches and pains in weird places for instance my little finger was aching and a few hours later my bunion.

Soubriquet · 28/01/2022 13:08

Also back pain, but it’s like a big square shape at my lower back aches, it’s not my actual bones if that makes sense.

Same! I suffer from back pain anyway but yes this description is perfect.

I also get fuzziness and black spots in my eyes if I’m on my feet too long (5-10mins)

nellytheelephant1980 · 28/01/2022 13:13

Yes, insomnia too!
And also really odd back pain, has felt like nerve pain, shooting in my lower back

So glad I’m really getting better now!!

zafferana · 28/01/2022 13:15

I have an itchy nose, like I get when I have hay fever.

My symptoms are really mild though. I so want to go out for a walk. Being stuck at home when I feel so well is really annoying!

ludocris · 28/01/2022 13:16

Stuffy yet not snotty. A kind of weird sense that my nose is not connected to my mouth.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 28/01/2022 13:16

Weird dreams, constant sneezing a rough throat and a sore neck. The sore neck came on suddenly the day before I tested positive

Snuzzle · 28/01/2022 13:19

DD 7 has come out in a massive rash, it’s like a cross between chicken pox and hives and it’s very itchy

mrsdolittle · 28/01/2022 13:20

Two days before I tested positive I couldn't stop crying. The day before positive test my feet and toes ached. I can honestly say my toes have never ached before!

SquishySquirmy · 28/01/2022 13:21

I tested positive about a month ago, recovered now.
However my period is 1 week late, which is really late for me!
Negative pregnancy test (thank goodness), I am assuming the late period is related to covid, but don't know for sure.

CroftPlace · 28/01/2022 13:44

Like you awful insomnia. Awake until 5.30 this morning an hours sleep then awake again.
My mind is racing...not even in a stressed way, the tv I've watched, the book I've just read.
Mine seems to be because I am so hot. I'm sleeping in pj shorts, windows open, no duvet and I am just burning.

I've also a rattle in my chest, as if there is a little something loose and sore gritty eyes.

I had been hoping to do some work from home today - day 9 of absence I think 🤔- but I'm too exhausted to think straight.

I was incredibly grumpy as was dh, and when I look back, so was my preschooler around 2 days before he started getting symptoms
changingstages · 28/01/2022 14:55

I coughed, a few days ago, just one cough, and suddenly absolutely everything smelled and tasted of pipe/cigar smoke! it lasted about an hour and then fortunately just disappeared. It was very, very odd.

Fredshred · 28/01/2022 15:33

My weirdest symptoms were an extremely low temperature, raging hunger and burning sinuses (so that it was unbearable at times to breathe through my nose). Oh and feeling absolutely fine one hour, to feeling absolutely dreadful the next hour and so on in a loop. I'll spare the details of the part where liquid would just randomly pour out of my nose with no warning Smile

sleaf · 28/01/2022 15:40

Bloody snot when blowing nose.

Finallygotme · 28/01/2022 15:55

Fred I'm getting the random liquid. One minute I'm stuffy but dry, next it is pouring out. Gross. Also the good hour bad hour, it is weird.

Insomnia is crap, so tired but still can't sleep which is very unusual for me.

So funny to see the eye comments, I have one dry itchy and twitchy eye, but the other is fine 🤔

MrsGHarrison87 · 28/01/2022 16:06

Aching wrist

WarriorN · 28/01/2022 16:06

The loop.

Of feeling ok.

One hour I'm "yeah I'm doing crafts with the kids!"

Nexts im positioning them in front of the next random film I can find they're not bored of yet with pop corn while I collapse.

Lead body.

Andoffwego · 28/01/2022 16:19

Awful pains in my joints, muscles and bones for nearly a week before I tested positive. I thought I’d developed rheumatoid arthritis. Everything hurt so much and got so bad that the night before my cold symptoms started (and 3 days before I had a positive lateral flow) I got up in the night to go to the toilet and physically couldn’t stand up. It was worst in my lower back, thighs and knees. Never had pain like it before.

GlassRaven · 28/01/2022 17:31

Itched all over days 7 & 8. Took anti histamine.

Flaxmeadow · 28/01/2022 17:36

Complete loss of taste and smell in April 2020, which was really weird at the time. It didn't occur to me that I had covid at all

But in an unrelated phone call my GP said she had read about it as a synptom in some very recent medical papers/magazines and told me to isolate

Finallygotme · 28/01/2022 17:44

It's a bloody weird virus.

This is something I didn't expect, I'm bored. I'm given to sloth so expected to enjoy being back at home but I can't settle to anything.

Chickenpox type rash on my torso and the smell of cigarette smoke when my sense of smell was returning.

Whitefire · 28/01/2022 19:13

Dd15 - has slept all day (came home from school yesterday complaining of headache and sore throat) and when she came out of her room earlier said she felt like she was walking on the moon. Grin I guess that is similar to a pp saying about jelly legs. Her heart rate seems fairly high too (107)
