Did anyone not catch omicron if it was in your house?

DH works away from home Monday to Wednesday.

Wednesday night/Thursday morning he woke up with high temp, headache, aches and pains etc. He tested positive straight away.

Today the people he was working with on Tuesday/Wednesday have symptoms and tested positive on LFT.

So far, me and DC are negative and no symptoms. Its sounding like we could start getting symptoms tomorrow. Has anyone managed to not get it when you were in the same house as a positive Omicron case?

Thanks! It's just like a heavy cold at the moment. Headache coming and going. DH has been loads better today and kids are pretty much fine.

I tested positive on Saturday morning, not Friday... was getting confused. I was still testing negative Friday evening so things can change quite quickly with lateral flows.

Keeping everything crossed that DD is still negative tomorrow...

LoLo2020 · 16/01/2022 23:52

DD is third day of being positive and I remain negative (yet!)

Jewel1968 · 17/01/2022 00:45

House of 5.

2 got COVID (assume Om) and 3 didn't. No isolation.

Echoesandsilence · 17/01/2022 07:04

No change here today - still 2 positive and 2 negative.

Feeling hopeful that if we havent caught it so far then we will escape it.

Day 10 ... fringgin huge happy dance it's nearly over

Me & DD are still clear, both of us are prone to low immunity & catch things easily, both high risk too, so this is brilliant, though I'm on my knees after a week of no help from DH & a stroppy assed DD & sleeping like a squatter where I could

Bicnod · 17/01/2022 11:07

DD still negative here Shock I kept her off school today to be in the safe side but if she's still negative tomorrow she's going in.

DS now on day 7 and still testing positive... Desperate for him to be negative as he really needs to go back to school!

wishihadagoodone · 17/01/2022 13:46

House of 4 here.
Me, DH, DD6 and DS3.
I tested positive with I can only assume was Omicron (due to how mild my symptoms were) on 4th Jan.
DH took daily LFT's so he could attend work and DD took LFT's every school morning so she could go to school.
Neither of them tested positive the whole time. I wasn't doing anything differently. Still cooking and cleaning as normal, sharing a bed with DH, being sat on and climbed over by the DC.

It's a funny old thing!!

BettyOBarley · 17/01/2022 13:53

I've spoken to about 4 or 5 people since Christmas who have had it or someone in the household did but it hasn't gone through the whole family.

Dahliafairy · 17/01/2022 14:43

Husband had it just before Xmas, daughter positive over Xmas and I didn’t catch it. I’ve got it now though - I work in a primary school.

LittleWingSoul · 17/01/2022 15:30

In my pp on this thread I was negative after 10 days so thought I'd escaped it.

11days after my husband's positive test result, I finally get one too. Body aches and fatigue.

Echoesandsilence · 17/01/2022 15:52

Sorry to hear @LittleWingSoul
Every twinge I feel now I think its Covid. I have backache this afternoon but its more than likely just the kidney infectoon I had last week.

Fingers crossed for you @RockinHorseShit

LittleWingSoul · 17/01/2022 16:17

@RockinHorseShit I feel for you! These last 12 days have been the same for me. Tbh I am glad I have got it now, not feeling as bad as I potentially could, but good to know I'll get it done and out of the way and we'll be after this neverending cycle of isolation at some point too!

AegonT · 17/01/2022 17:07

We all got it. I had it first and so wanted to quietly isolate in my room! But I have an 8 month old breastfed baby who sleeps in my bed half the night. My husband got it 4 days after I tested positive, the kids got it 2 days later. We had symptoms, they didn't.

NoiceToight · 17/01/2022 17:12

Me ds2 had it, but DH and ds1 didn't get it - we didn't even attempt to isolate from each other in the house because we just assumed that horse had bolted.
Ds2 was pretty ill (too young to be vaccinated) but I was barely ill at all.

mrsm43s · 17/01/2022 17:18

Teenage DD had it, the rest of us (Me, DH and DS) didn't catch it from her.

It helps that we have a large enough house for her to have a floor to herself and her own bathroom, plus she was old enough (and of the right personality type) to be happy to isolate from us.

Treaclepie19 · 18/01/2022 14:39

All still negative apart from ds.
He's on day 8 and the line is almost gone now.

Echoesandsilence · 18/01/2022 16:47

Fingers crossed for you @Treaclepie19 sounds like you could be nearly at the other side.

Day 6 for DH and he is completely fine.
Day 3 for 8yo DS and he is still feeling rough.
2yo seems completely fine.
I feel awful with backache etc but my LFT was negative this morning. I've just drastically gone downhill since 11.30. Thinking it might be my kidney infection returning Sad

SkiingIsHeaven · 18/01/2022 16:51

DH, DD and DS all had it. I escaped but became the overworked, underpaid, dogs body.

I did make them isolate in other rooms and they used the family bathroom. While I had the downstairs, the main bedroom and en-suite.

It was exhausting.

Dancingqueen202 · 18/01/2022 17:10

Dd lost her voice on Friday, tested positive Sunday and so far none of us have it. There are 3 other children and two adults.

I’m counting day one from her positive test, is that right?

BrunoNoNoNo · 18/01/2022 17:17

My youngest tested positive last week after contact with a positive case.

Now 3/4 of us have it.

Echoesandsilence · 18/01/2022 17:32

@Dancingqueen202 I'm in Ireland and they are saying day 1 can be the day you got symptoms OR the day you tested positive. (I presume they mean whichever is earlier). Not sure what the advice is in the UK.

DP's relative tested positive while staying with ILs at Christmas - we were with them all day and none of the rest of us caught it. All of us had had at least 2 jabs.

niceupthedanceagain · 18/01/2022 18:08

DS was poorly on Friday night, positive Saturday
I was with him for 48 hours more or less from Friday and still haven't got it (feel a bit off though) only had one vaccine
DP has had 3 vaccines and hasn't got it

Sloughsabigplace · 18/01/2022 18:13

I thought 19 year old had escaped it, but yesterday morning he woke up feeling shit and LFT was positive.

That was 14 days after dh and my first symptoms and positive LFT 12 days ago.

(He’s not set foot outside the house in all that time so he’s not caught it from anyone else - he’s starting his course again at the end of jan so was having one last really bloody lazy month after his temp job finished before xmas!)

Sloughsabigplace · 18/01/2022 19:09

I mean obviously he isolated with us - but he hasn’t been anywhere before that or after.
