Did anyone not catch omicron if it was in your house?

DH works away from home Monday to Wednesday.

Wednesday night/Thursday morning he woke up with high temp, headache, aches and pains etc. He tested positive straight away.

Today the people he was working with on Tuesday/Wednesday have symptoms and tested positive on LFT.

So far, me and DC are negative and no symptoms. Its sounding like we could start getting symptoms tomorrow. Has anyone managed to not get it when you were in the same house as a positive Omicron case?

DH didn’t get it from me despite sleeping in the same bed as me the whole time I was ill.

MotherofTerriers · 15/01/2022 16:43

I shared a house with someone through them having both Delta and Omicron (6 months apart) and didn't catch either

WeRTheOnesWeHaveBeenWaitingFor · 15/01/2022 16:43

We assume our youngest had Omircon, it absolutely ripped through the school. Non of the rest of us caught it.

H1978 · 15/01/2022 16:43

Dh had it last week but neither myself nor dcs caught it. I had it November 2020 so I was worried I’d get it again but thankfully i haven’t.

Flowers2020bloom · 15/01/2022 16:44

Following as my dc is on day 4 and I'm still negative but wondering if I'm out of the woods yet

ILookAtTheFloor · 15/01/2022 16:44

DH had it, none of us caught it. He's just out of isolation.

Echoesandsilence · 15/01/2022 16:45

Thanks all - there is some hope for us then

Three friends have had it but their spouses didn’t, despite sharing a house and bed. I sat next to someone on Cmas day who tested positive a day later and didn’t catch it - none of the seven of us who were there did. Boyfriend’s kids unwittingly brought it back from his ex’s and he didn’t catch it. It’s a weird one.

stargirl1701 · 15/01/2022 16:46

Yup. DH tested positive on PCR on Christmas Eve. DDs and I isolated with him for 10 days. None of us had symptoms. I did an LFT every 48 hours and it was always negative,

AwaitingSueGraysInvestigation · 15/01/2022 16:52

Ditto. I had it, DH didn’t and we were sleeping in the same bed etc. He was testing daily so it would have been picked up I reckon.

I was barely ill, if that’s any comfort. Sore throat and feeling hungover for a day, that was it.

Sloughsabigplace · 15/01/2022 16:52

Me and dh positive. Symptoms and strong LFTs from last friday, symptoms from last sat.

19 year old ds, 8 year old dd and 1 year old dd all negative, did PCRs just incase (the older two not the baby), not a single line on a LFT between them all week or a single symptom.

The baby literally sleeps on my face and shares my food Confused we’ve carried on as normal with everyone, including 8 year old dd sleeping in our room as we were in the middle of renovating hers when we got ill.

ZZGirl · 15/01/2022 16:54

I've had it this week, husband hasn't caught it, we've still shared a bed, I've done the cooking etc...

MimiDaisy11 · 15/01/2022 16:54

Yes. DP tested positive but I never did and we live in small flat.

Blubells · 15/01/2022 16:58

Yes. DD tested positive a couple of weeks ago. I never caught it from her!

Wfhquery · 15/01/2022 16:59

My sons has it now since Monday and I’ve not caught yet. Dh had delta in nov and I didn’t catch that either

Echoesandsilence · 15/01/2022 16:59

Its so strange how it moves between some people and other people in close proximity escape it

I guess everyone's immune system is different!

Bitesize123 · 15/01/2022 17:04

Me! DD tested positive first, then DS, then DH. Each positive test about 6 days apart. I'm now 8 days on from DH's positive test and I still haven't caught it. I had each of the DCs in bed with me when they were poor and have shared a bed with DH since. I'm absolutely amazed that I haven't caught it because I have a chronic illness which means I tend to catch everything going and end up wiped out for a couple of weeks. I've never had covid as far as I'm aware.

Bitesize123 · 15/01/2022 17:05

Poorly even!

FawnFrenchieMum · 15/01/2022 17:09

DD tested positive last Sunday. DH last Monday AM, so far me & DS are still negative although I’m now feeling rotten today with an awful cough I’m still negative on LFTs. I did a PCR around Thursday to double check but that was negative.

I share a bed with DH, DD literally lays on me. I’m also immno-suppressed so expected to catch it straight away. See what happens in next few days.

LuckyWithMyLot · 15/01/2022 17:10

I had it (not confirmed it was Omicron but it seems likely as I had COVID during the Delta outbreak and developed it while in London 2 weeks ago).

Despite only having had 2 vaccines, DH escaped it. He lateral flowed every day and never developed symptoms.

DS (2 years) developed a mild cough so may have had it but we didn't test him.

Flumo · 15/01/2022 17:13

Me and my 2 sons caught it, but my partner and my daughter didn't. Also my mil had it but her husband didn't.

Livelifeinthebuslane · 15/01/2022 17:15

I didn't get it from DD, I've had two vaccines but not my booster.

Momentsmatter · 15/01/2022 17:28

Me and one of my DC tested positive last week. We have both now tested negative on day 6 & 7 and are out of isolation. DH who slept in the same bed as me and my other 3 DC didn't get it.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 15/01/2022 17:32

In our house of 4, 2 of us got it. No attempt at distancing as the children are small.

Ds1 brought it home from school, I got it 2 days later. Neither DH or Ds2 got it. I was most surprised about ds2 as he’s never to my knowledge had it in the past and he’s too young to be vaccinated. He was in the same room as me and ds1 for most of the day while we were positive and even drank out of ds1s water bottle a few times.
