To say get your fucking vaccine (if you can)

And if you chose not to please don’t give COVID to my red zone working partner.

I’m CEV, I’m positive, I can have only caught it from him - and he works In a red zone where last week 98% of patients were not vaccinated

Sorry for the moan.

@MaebeaorNot

I actually think it’s more self indulgent expecting everyone to get vaccinated just to suit your own personal wants/agenda, personally.

I can’t imagine someone with health anxiety is lax about other preventative measures (mask wearing, frequent hand washing etc) so this poster is doing as much as she can. Nor would she be one that’s jumping on a plane to go on holiday at the first chance.

I was open to getting vaccinated but attitudes like yours have made me decide against it. If anyone thinks anyone who isn’t vaccinated will suddenly chance their mind when they’re told to “get the fucking vaccine”, you’re bloody deluded.

Please do continue to post more self indulgent tripe, though.

PizzaCrust · 11/01/2022 11:05

@Urthie

But not everyone is likely as risk averse as the op.

Actually you'd be surprised at the number of NHS personnel, or their families who are in the CV / CEV categories. One of the many reasons people chose to go into a health profession.

Difference is, a lot of them aren’t sitting at a keyboard telling people to “get the fucking vaccine” and to “stay the fuck at home”.

They’re actually out at work working with the general public putting themselves at risk daily if they work in a job that can’t be done from home/can’t afford to isolate, and just getting on with it.

Urthie · 11/01/2022 11:12

@PizzaCrust I also work in the NHS so you can stop that silly assumption of yours, and have been into work daily - until I got COVID. And yes, there's plenty of NHS workers telling people to get the vaccine. I'm not sure where you've been the last twenty months, particularly if you think I am the only one who has expressed fuck when saying it.

OP posts:
Mickarooni · 11/01/2022 11:12

@KurtWilde

Sorry OP, people are selfish and uncaring.

After the last 2 years of so many people giving up so much - and some putting their own health at risk on a daily basis - for the benefit of perfect strangers, I honestly don't understand how anyone can still type this bollocks and actually believe it.

I have huge respect for those who worked in extremely difficult situations especially pre vaccine. I don’t expect the general public to lockdown or be forced to have a vaccine on my behalf and I am severely immune compromised. However, I feel like I wanted to comment on “so many people gave up X, Y and Z”. It wasn’t solely for the benefit of CEV, it was to protect the NHS being overwhelmed for everyone. Plus plenty of CEV people have returned to work in risky environments, including me. We don’t all need to be lumped together. I know CEV people who’ve lost businesses etc. It’s been really crap for many people.
Urthie · 11/01/2022 11:14

"Into work daily" = when not on some much needed leave the last few weeks.

OP posts:
Mickarooni · 11/01/2022 11:19

@Urthie

So, if you’ve been into work then you’ve also been at risk of Covid?
I’m sorry you’re poorly, it sucks. Are you not eligible for the anti virals?

Urthie · 11/01/2022 11:21

@Mickarooni I've actually been on leave, so not at work for a few weeks (combination of AL, SL and RL), and yes - if I get sick I can access the new treatments, I actually feel fine which is what is making it more infuriating.

Also it's been a while since we have both been in the house together and it's, ahem, "getting interesting" shall we say.

OP posts:
Urthie · 11/01/2022 11:22

Anyway, I will remember not to put fuck in the title of a thread in future again...

OP posts:
MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2022 11:24

..Or tell people to get a vaccine

Probably do the opposite of what you want.

soredust · 11/01/2022 11:26

a) Don't tell people what to do with their body.
b) You are not going to convince anyone who is currently unvaccinated by being aggressive. This is just going to make them even less likely to get the vaxx. HTH.

Blubells · 11/01/2022 11:27

If anyone thinks anyone who isn’t vaccinated will suddenly chance their mind when they’re told to “get the fucking vaccine”, you’re bloody deluded.

I would agree with that.

So you could have caught Covid at any time and it might not even have been from your “Dude”, then? Being vaccinated definitely did wonders there Hmm.

I’ve been getting on with working with the general public daily without screaming profanities at people. I just wear a mask for my entire shift, frequently hand wash, take lateral flow tests frequently and accept that Covid is here to stay so there’s little point blasting everyone when anyone could pass it on regardless of vaccination status.

At the end of the day, I doubt you’d care about someone’s vaccination status if they were delivering your online food shop which stops you from having to venture out to do the shop yourself. It only matters when it suits you for it to matter.

LadyIckenham · 11/01/2022 11:31

I suspect there may be many people who are willing to have a vaccine but can't at the moment, like myself. I was due to have my booster just before Christmas but got told to cancel it by my GP as my eldest tested positive the day before and I had to wait for her isolation to end. I am reluctant to drive to an appointment, as DH was paralysed for over an hour within two hours of his booster (not exaggerating) and now it's term time, I need to be on hand to collect the children as well as working (self employed so no paid absence if unwell). Given the number of people self isolating over the last two weeks, many must be in a similar position.

Going to try and sort one this weekend, although it will mean cancelling plans. But being berated is very tiresome,

PizzaCrust · 11/01/2022 11:32

@Urthie

I actually feel fine which is what is making it more infuriating

Are you having a laugh? You’re annoyed about not being sick when you have Covid?

Breaking News: Pro Vaccine NHS worker who is incandescent with rage about vaccinated Dude passing on Covid to them from an unnamed source is frustrated because they aren’t genuinely ill from Covid.

Bonkers.

My point about work was that even though you’ve been off, you still went in and could have caught it from someone - be it vaccinated or unvaccinated.
When you submitted your priority PCR, they should have contacted you for the treatment. If not within 24 hours, you should make contact with them. Why delay?

Urthie · 11/01/2022 11:37

@PizzaCrust - we have been isolating for other reasons - he has only just gone back to work, I was due to go back yesterday. I know, I caught it from him, as he's the only one who's been in contact with anyone positive since we returned to the UK. And before you blame the trip back to the UK - the timeframes don't fit.

I'm infuriated because I feel fine, I've had a medical procedure cancelled, I am bored, and I wanted to go back to work after leave, happy now?

CEV but went on holiday? Hmm

I’m not vulnerable at all and I wouldn’t be travelling in this climate.

Yes, I can see you’re bored. Too much time on your hands and this thread is the result. It’s easy to blame others then you’re sat at home with your feet up and nothing to do.

KurtWilde · 11/01/2022 11:42

@Mickarooni I'm fully aware that many CEV people worked through the pandemic, my DD was one of them, and my CV DS lost his business because of it. If you read my post correctly I was clear to state and some putting their own health at stake on a daily basis. So I'm not quite sure what your problem is.

I'm just absolutely sick to death of people saying others are selfish and uncaring after all that has happened during the pandemic. They clearly have very short memories.

We are the most arrogant country, so swelled with our own indignation and self importance, a terrible hangover from the Empire days.

Me me me me me me me.

Urthie · 11/01/2022 11:45

@PizzaCrust Yeah, I've had to travel for work, I've had to travel for a funeral, and I went on a holiday too. All abroad. Funeral and holiday were in the same country. I actually felt safe travelling than I would do going into a hospital - because of the rules on vaccination.

I guess you are one of those that think CEV people should be locked up for good?

OP posts:
MistressoftheDarkSide · 11/01/2022 11:49

Honestly OP my sympathy has just waned a little reading your post.

I can't visit my DP in ICU after his brain bleed because he tested positive though asymptomatic on admission. It may be 14 days or until he tests negative before it's a possibility. I am isolating as a close contact for ten days and am negative on LFTs. I'm expecting the wrath if God from track and trace because I missed their call this morning after they graciously allowed me until today because if circumstances.

So I'm sorry you're not poorly and so inconvenienced, but this is the world we live in and loads if people are struggling in loads of ways because of the ongoing inconsistency, confusion and paranoia that has been going on for nearly two years. So you'll just have to deal with ut as best you can like the rest of us do.

Goid luck. Maybe crack open the gin?

Is this re people telling others to have a vaccine?

Not sure nationality has that much impact. You probably get this all over

Urthie · 11/01/2022 11:53

I'm really sorry to hear about your DP and I hope he feels better soon. It does really suck having a loved one in ICU and not being able to visit.

Maybe crack open the gin?

I can't, but thanks for the gesture and I hope you can crack open one too.

@Serenschintte

My Ds 17 got vaccinated. 2nd vax was end October He’s currently on the sofa with a positive PCR. All the friends he went away with were vaccinated too. As was the relative who unknowingly gave her son Covid. I’m really sorry you have Covid. But you can’t blame it on the unvaccinated based on the evidence out there. I hope you feel better really soon.
The difference is that if your son wasn't vaccinated there's more chance he'd been in intensive care now instead of the sofa. Hope he gets well soon.
MistressoftheDarkSide · 11/01/2022 12:02

Thank you OP. Instantly regretted my snippiness so Flowers

It's all shit isn't it?
